Why does everyone like this anime so much? I just finished it and I do not understand the hype. It has zero plot besides her sneaking around and trying to hide her erotic games and manga and her constantly trying to ruin her brother's life. Am I missing something?
>Am I missing something?
No. You're missing everything.
I just can't understand what anyone gets out of it. It's literally plotless, every time I realized I wasn't done yet I wanted to cry
That's fine. If you missed the point of the show then it's not for you.
because its cute and most of us self inserted
The anime itself is kind of entertaining espescially since it has really awesome quality.
But then it devolves into Waifu wars and the ending throws everything out the fucking window.
I can see why nobody who didnt excpect Kirino to win all along would like this
its not about who won, its about who is best girl
The anime was a bad adaptation of a good light novel series. It's that simple.
The anime is about sexual attraction to little sisters.
That is the crucial piece of the puzzle missing from your description. Now leave.
Yeah the quality is great actually and I thought the soundtrack was good too, I just didn't get the huge hype about it.
Yeah, you missed when one /a/non dumped the first chapter here under the pretense he is writefagging it. Back then we though that our expectations of incest were nicely subverted and that the author is splendidly ridiculing the incestfags.
>tfw its is only translated up to volume 4
Nah OP, it really isn't that good.
Well, you see, the anime has incest in it.
Your ignorance is showing.
Incest is the hook, not the point.
but its only text
>It has zero plot besides her sneaking around and trying to hide her erotic games and manga and her constantly trying to ruin her brother's life.
Sometimes the hook is the point.
Not this time.
its a Manga isn't it, where are the pictures?
No, incest is the point.
Ridiculing the incestfags was the hook for me.
When it turned out that was simply a delusion of mine, there were no more hooks to keep me reading/watching. Why would I care about points then?
No, it's not a manga. It's a light novel series with illustrations. Your ignorance is showing again.
But if the hook didn't have a point, it wouldn't hold bait or latch onto fish as well as it otherwise would.
In fact, it probably wouldn't do much of a job holding onto the fish at all.
And Oreimo is an anime about incest and there isn't much else to watch it for besides the fact that it is an anime about incest.
To elaborate, the whole story and everything is fine, but some things are just never properly developed in the anime.
Like the relationship to Ayase and then drawn out unnecessarily later, as in the whole study away from home thing.
Also it just kind of disintegrates after Kuroneko happens.
Unless you can either relate to a character or like the comedic value, this show will of course be shit to you from the beginning.
All of this isnt really that problematic though for those who like the show for what it is.
But the ending just seems so pointless and shitty for an anime that was based on a light novel it made me genuinely angry.
Oreimo is not about incest. Oreimo is about love.
In short, as in most other romance LN series (I am looking at you, Toradora), only the main couple got proper attention and the anime ending was pointless and shitty.
In other news, no news at all, we all knew it'd happen from the start.
But the protagonists are siblings, and they touch butts in that special way.
Sure, it has incest. But that's not what it's about. The fact that they are siblings doesn't have as much significance as most think, the significance lies in their history together and their relationship's evolution over time. The whole series is about how they need each other, but they both have obstacles to overcome before they can accept each other's love. It really isn't even that deep.
Boy, that one had so much foreshadowing on the ending that I ditched it before the climax just out of pure anger, so much drama for everything...god I cringed so much that I dropped anime for a month.
Well, there's how the closing narration is an altered version of the opening narration, and perhaps the fact that Taiga is in a locker at one point in one of the early episodes and in the last one...
What else was there?
The appeal of this show is that most of the girls are fucking hot and god tier imoutos.
>weirdies want to fuck her
>girls want to be anime
