If a show is only good when you watch it with /a/, does that mean it's bad?

A show doesn't change in quality if I do or do not follow discussion on /a/. It could perhaps be worth it to watch a show if the discussion on /a/ is particularly worthwhile, but usually it's just an encouragement for me and not enough to make me watch a show on its own.
