>Bamboo sword against iron/steel heavy weapon
>Bamboo sword doesn't shatter
It's magic, I ain't explainin' shit
Thatscene was really cool, but it was so silly how that happened.
Bamboo sword > Katana > western sword
No such thing as magic
The premise is nice, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired.
I don't really give a fuck about the scene with the bamboo sword.
But for the love of god I don't get MC's comments and reactions at this moment here.
I like the ED
Samurai bamboo strong like Katana. If anime has taught me anything, it's that Japanese blades no matter what their made of are always superior to western blades.
>Katana cutting a broadsword like sheet metal
"だからもういいってば" is pretty much saying, "Alright already." without saying "Fuck off and stop bullshitting me." I guess he still didn't buy the whole magic thing yet.
Agreed, I know it's magic, but that's not a magic bamboo sword.
The worst part was because MC didn't react to a gun pointed at his face.
How do the subs compare to HS's? I'm guessing it's better, though I wonder if it's worth the two day wait.
I actually enjoyed this even though I'm always skeptical about these LN adaptations, also dat ED. Blonde girl best girl
I'll give it couple more episodes
A kendo stick surviving so long against a blade and all the cliches thrown in makes it hard.
But the transforming big chest girl saved it.
Sometimes the bamboo has metal inside for added weight.
Superior nippon technology.
Now that I've had more time to think about it, I can sort my thoughts on what I think of the show so far. All this is >opinions, of course.
+ The premise.
+ The girls. Though MC needs to shape up.
+ MC actually being useful, even if it resulted in bamboo sword of steel.
+ The ED.
- Stupid magic rule #1: Where if your magic hits a magician in the real world, you lose all your powers/die. Seriously? I just find this iffy and lame, but that's just me. Also, why only a magician but not a non-magician? Is there some kind of psychic thing going on, like in Shin Sekai Yori where if you attack a human - non-humans are okay - you get mindraped?
- Stupid magic rule #2: They apparently lose their magic once they become adults. Though it's possible that rather than losing your powers at adult age, the main heroine could have meant that if you don't become a magician by then you never will. I don't know for sure. I hope LN bros can clarify.
- The sword guy not using his evasion magic for some reason.
- Main girl is looking to be a violent tsundere. I hope it's just because she's stressed about her brother and she gets better after this episode.
* I think it's too easy to become a magician. What, all that has to happen is a little magic dust from a spell and bam, you got superpowers? It's a wonder how there aren't magicians running around all over the place.
As usual I'll give this the three-episode rule. It'll depend on how they handle the magic academy thing and how main girl turns out.
>Stupid magic rule #1
That's to prevent fighting in the real world, probably.
Episode 1 already heavily implied and said that they're not accepted.
>They apparently lose their magic once they become adults.
And that's just wrong.
They can't become magicians when they're adults.
>The sword guy not using his evasion magic for some reason.
He has evasion magic type just like the MC.
Her brother's explanation (or his) was that it is magic that let's you evade someone else's magic.
Simply put, if he has an evasion type that let's him only dodge direct magical attacks he won't be able to use it against the MC.
>Main girl is looking to be a violent tsundere.
What I saw in the other threads from the LN illustrations, seems like it is only very light tsundere.
Not a LN fag here, so all only from the first episode.
>"You don't have to wait for me everyday"
>"Its fine since we are dating"
Holy shit is it true? Finally a MC being in a proper relationship with a girl right from the get go..
>Had his first kiss by accident with a random magical girl
She's only his "girlfriend".
Anime chart synopsis says "due to certain circumstance, he formed a 'fake' couple" with her. As of Episode 1 we don't know what those "certain circumstances" are.
Of course, with our knowledge of anime writing, she most likely has real feelings for him and will get angry or sad if MC keeps saying it's just pretend.
I would have liked if they were in a proper relationship too but really, I'm sure you knew what to expect from this.
I have never dropped an anime faster than this one.
Why is it always a boring petite girl as the main love interest in shit like this?
If the titty girl were the main, you would wish that quiet petite girl would win instead.
LITERALLY WORSE THAN NOBUNAGA THE FOOL
MADHOUSE IS DEAD
They got Mahouka and NGNL.
It's not possible for them to be even close to dying after these two shows air.
I just hope for a good adaption of it.
i dropped this shit at the accidental first kissu scene because i couldn't take anymore. its like the awful writers of this show just wrote down anime cliches in a list and taped a show together. i dont know why they were all in episode 1 either
>magic so they dont gotta explain shit
>Main girl is loli magic girl
>MC-kun is just an ordinary guy when one day the sudden appearance of a girl changes his life forever
>accidental kiss ends up being first kiss for both of them despite MC having a (fake)girlfriend (did they never kiss just to make it convincing?)
>mention of an accident or something(didnt finish episode) that hints at MC-kuns dark past
there was probably 100 mroe post-kiss part if i didn't cringe and stop watching
pic not related
You clearly underestimate japanese bamboo
This was awful, dropped at episode.
This show is so bad but I'll keep watching anyway
It very specifically was explained not to be magic.
So girls like her count as loli now? News to me.
I have a feeling that first kiss bullshit with come into play with the fake girlfriend soon. I can feel it.
>Her brother's explanation (or his) was that it is magic that let's you evade someone else's magic.
>Simply put, if he has an evasion type that let's him only dodge direct magical attacks he won't be able to use it against the MC.
Yet the MC was using evasion magic to avoid regular attacks as well. Although he could just know a different kind of evasion magic.
>I think it's too easy to become a magician. What, all that has to happen is a little magic dust from a spell and bam, you got superpowers? It's a wonder how there aren't magicians running around all over the place.
I have a bit of an issue with this as well. They said they don't reveal themselves because mages are prosecuted and feared, but why if literally anyone can become a magician as long as they're exposed to it at a young age? Within a few generations nearly everyone could be a magician.
>Yet the MC was using evasion magic to avoid regular attacks as well. Although he could just know a different kind of evasion magic.
That's the part I don't really get as well.
Probably another kind of evasion magic like you already said.
Or it's simply not evasion magic and they just guessed it wrong.
It will probably be worth it.
I dont know why i was expecting her to be a kuudere type of character or something like the main girl from strike the blood from the PV/Images.
Turned out to be better than expected, I like this a lot more.
We can only hope so.
