don't die dammit
Funny enough, I just finished watching the OVA version of Part 3
The anime of part 3 is supposed to start this year r-right?
Yep, in the Spring
>late to the party always
>finally watch shows and go to what remains of the threads
>Jojo was one of them
Is taku iwasaki on board to compose this?
>From a manga
So, you just blow in from stupid town?
But both are those are from the same series. Same arc even.
All this new.
that's the joke
It's still up in the air. The sample from that teaser sounds like his work for part 2, but apparently David pissed him off pretty bad when part 2 was airing. Personally I hope the music changes again like it did from Phantom Blood to Battle Tendency
Joseph best JoJo
Anyone who says otherwise has shit taste.
Still waiting for a Part 3 trailer or promo though.
Friendly reminder that part 4 is the worst part, even worse than part 5
Good job on being a tryhard hipster hating a part just because it's popular. Stay buttrippled
I disliked it because it was dislikeable. I like part 3(to a point), and that's the most mainstream part of all
He's one of the best, but I feel like Jolyne and Johnny had the best development over the course of their parts. They had the benefit of longer parts though
Why does Stone Free smell like soap?
Because Jolyne is clean and pure
part 3 was the most mainstream part up until the anime started.
then it was part 1. now it's part 2.
I like both of those better than part 4 as well. Steel ball run a best
Who was your favorite final boss?
Kira or Kars, they ended really satisfying
kira, part 4s only saving grace, except for rohan
He got ran over by an ambulance
Kira was a great villain and all, but I was expecting a death that wasn't so lackluster
The part where he got dragged to the underworld was great though
Yeah that's what I was counting as his ending, the ambulance part was kinda dumb.
I just started part 3, I just got past the part where jotaro ora ora ora'd a shark.
>Clean and pure
>masturbates in the beginning chapter
You mean she's Lewd, clean, and pure.
Keep reading, homo. Some of my favorite arcs are the ones after that
You gotta do what you gotta do when you're in prison, homie.
She masturbated? I remember there probably was something like that but show me the specific page
It's in like the first chapter, first volume. Literally the beginning of part 6. She isn't shown masturbating, of course, but is freaking out because a guard caught her doing it.
Would you like to be in the shoes of that guard?
Nah, they're probably not comfy
If it was Jolyne? Fuck yeah.
But I'd have to risk feeling the entire Universe reset itself. Oh well, It's fucking Jolyne of all people.
Didn't he get killed pretty early on?
Are you talking about that Guard with a Double-suicide Stand?
I think he was different.
By Asian standards effeminacy has always been manly. Nothing has changed.
Nah, not Xander McQueen. I remember the guard that saw Jolyne masturbating turned out to be corrupt and was beating up Hermes for money she smuggled in, I think he got his skull split open by Stone Free's string before Jolyne knew she had a stand.
His ear got sliced off by Stone Free
Right, I knew he was fucked up somehow. So probably not worth it. Probably closest anyone got to winning da Joly ne was Weather
I've almost finished Stone Ocean, and I still think Battle Tendency was the best part. I know, I know, SBR is amazing, apparently. I'll get around to it eventually.
I really don't get why people love Part 4 so much. The stands were better than the simplistic ones from Part 3, but the characters were more forgettable and didn't mesh with each other as well. The fact that most of the enemy stand users didn't have a reason to even exist except to pad out more pages before the inevitable confrontation with Kira didn't help matters. Some characters like Rohan, Mikitaka, and Kira were genuinely interesting, but the part as a whole just didn't click with me.
Part 5 at least had better motivation for its characters going for it. Let's face it--actual hired hitmen are more interesting than random hobos and shmucks who were pulled off the street and stabbed with an arrow. One of the many problems, though, is that the story used every asspull under the sun to keep the protagonists from actually helping each other. In every damn fight, either the person from Giorno's group was the only one around, or everyone else in the group just "happened" to be paralyzed, aged, or covered in mold or zombie goo or whatever. Worse yet, Part 5 did the stupidest things with its abilities, and I'm not just talking about the broken ones like Requiem and King "IT JUST WORKS" Crimson. Say what you will about them--at least Araki didn't introduce them at the beginning and have to write them out of the rest of the story like he did with Fugo's "my fist gets anywhere near you, you die instantly" stand. If Araki didn't make Fugo puss out halfway through, Bruno wouldn't have died ;_;[\spoiler]. Also, after fighting Bruno, Giorno never took advantage of Gold Experience's "reflect any damage done to the animals you make" OR "enhance the senses of someone you hit" powers and instead just became another Crazy Diamond who could heal himself. So much wasted potential.
AH, well I did not realize it at first. I just thought it was some random guard.
stupid spoiler tags
Part 4 is probably a love it or hate it type of part. For me, I loved it to bits. But I enjoy SoL, and the team of Josuke and Okuyasu was the best friendship in the series before SBR. Plus you're kinda ignoring that hobos and smuchks and whoever else having a stand is intentional. Both people with the arrow were just going around shooting people to get either what stand they wanted, or to make more of a distraction for the heroes.
Don't have much else to say about part 5. But I will add on that you'll probably be like me. You go into SBR thinking "Yeah yeah yeah, everyone on 4chan is talking it up like it's amazing, it's probably just hype and it'll be meh."
But it really isn't. It's one of the few times where the hype is deserved. From talking to other anons, it always clicks around the time of True Man's World
I agree with many of the points you make, but what makes Battle Tendency so great?
It's literally "Joseph wins, everyone else loses."
The "I wasn't really dead" death doesn't count
>It's literally "Joseph wins, everyone else loses."
How does that make it bad?
>I agree with many of the points you make, but what makes Stardust Crusaders so great?
It's literally "Jotaro wins, everyone else loses."
Come on, bro.
Joseph is creative with his winning. It's not a "who can punch harder" contest (see Jotaro)
Josuke looks shitty with that weird hairstyle.
Sounds like you're itching for a good dose of ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA
To each their own. I'll grant you that throwing random stand-users at Josuke and co. works as far as the overall goal of "keep the heroes at bay" is concerned. It just bugs me because those random stand-users really don't have anything better to do than unknowingly serve as Kira's roadblocks for Josuke and co. At least the enemies in the other JoJo parts knew what they were fighting for.
I'm not that into SoL, but I can appreciate that Part 4 has the best examples of friendship from the parts I've read. In other JoJo parts, most of the allies work together because they feel like they have to rather than because they want to.
All in all, Part 4 isn't beyond redemption, even if it didn't click well with me. My overall beef with it is just that because the enemies lack motivation, there's not much at stake aside from having one psycho on the loose. Compared to villains like Dio, Kars, and Pucci, who have far more threatening agendas than living in peace and killing a few people from time to time, Kira is just way too small-scale. Still, at least Part 4's problems don't make me genuinely angry like Part 5's do.
Jotaro did actually have to use his brain and not fight sometimes. D'arby the Gambler is probably the best example of him using his wits to win.
No arc is bad. BT just doesn't stand out as being better than the rest, imo.
Not sure why you're suddenly jumping on SC, but okay.
>Polnareff, Gray Fly, Devo, Hol Horse, J. Geil, Nena, Steely Dan, Mannish Boy, Cameo, Oingo, Boingo, Mariah, Pet Shop, Terence T. Darby, Kenny G, Vanilla Ice.
All antagonists that were not beaten solely by Jotaro.
Try reading SC again.
Ehh... I'd say that D'Arby the Gamer was a better example. Against Daniel D'Arby, Jotaro just intimidated him into second-guessing himself. Jotaro actually had to outsmart and outplay Terence D'Arby to beat him
It wasn't just intimidation, it was mindgames and getting into the head of his opponent. He knew that he was being cheated in just about every way, so he had to use his head to find a way to trick D'arby into doing something that is against his good judgement. Both D'arby "fights" and good examples of having to use his brain to win though.
Okay, so with the Part 3 adaptation coming, I want to ask you guys, if you could, which things from the manga would you change? [if any].
Have them explain ahead of time that two people can have the same stand ability. It would make a lot more sense that he was able to beat Dio that way.
I'd give Jotaro more protagonism and some actual character development on how he feels for his mother and his absent father (I'd make his father a deadbeat or say his mother divorced him for some good reason)
...they can? I thought they just had similar effects but were still unique.
I thought The World and Star Platinum had exactly the same ability. Is there anything that one can do that the other can't?
I still don't get how Dio could use Purple Hermit towards the beginning though.
Akari should've made something up like "Since Dio has Jonathan's body, he can use two stands/similar to the others, etc etc".
>Kira is just way too small-scale
See, that's where I think it really comes down to personal taste. That's a reason I love part 4, and Kira. It's a reason a lot of people love Kira. He's not out to rule the world, or overthrow fate, or to make the country better. He just wants to have a peaceful life.. And occasional kill some bitches.
After SDC, which is full on world-saving RPG, DiU tones things down so much that it's hard to adjust, but that's exactly why I liked it. Araki was exploring new territory, I think. You don't see many shonen where there's a bizarre adventure in your hometown, and the big bad doesn't throw villians at you all the time. Kira is like the least active BBEG I've ever seen, and that's part of the charm.
>mfw part 3's adaptation ends with a tease to part 4
What would be your perfect teaser at the end of part 3 animated?
Mine would probably be Jotaro about to leave on the plane, you see a little bit of loli Jolyne, and he picks up Joseph's picture of the skull over Morioh
I just got done with part 6 and I must say I think stairway to heaven could beat Gold Experience Requiem.
That'd be nice, I had a similar tease in mind, it's Jotaro walking in a park where you see a bunch of school kids, he's lost and he looks at the pic of Morioh, Jotaro says to kid "Hey kid" and Koichi turns around, screen freezes, cue to be continued and Holy Diver (or the new ED)
Maybe it could. It depends on if GER needs to punch Pucci/MiH to activate it's nullfying effect
They should have the old hag explain to Dio that since he has the body of a Joestar he can manifest any stand that anyone from the Joestar lineage has, its a key part of the plot that I think should be emphasized a bit more
I really wish I remembered where I stopped reading Jojo at. It just got so fucking boring when it became Stand of the Week bullshit.
I wouldn't say it's 'key'. The only times it came up was Pol's flashback and maybe Dio knowing that he's being watched by Joseph
And the final fight where its revealed that Jotaro and Dio have the same stand, its a foreshadowing of the final that I think it was too sparse in the manga
inb4 anime-only fags call it an asspull when Jotaro stops time
You two are idiots.
>any stand that anyone from the Joestar lineage has
So Dio can have the stand powers of any of his descendents? Now I'm picturing him with Gold Experience Requiem. Mother of God...
Reading part 4 now, 3 volumes left. I kinda miss 'tourist attraction' ad at the end of a fight.
Serious question, how does King Crimson even work?
with the power of plot
Something needs to be done about the Time Stop reveal at the end since while the D'Arby gambler scene hinted at Jotaro being able to Time Stop, the way the fight was presented at the end made it seem like he just developed it right at the moment.
Just skip Midler all together. I quite enjoyed Midler but I just fucking know those fuckers are going to spread it out over an entire episode or some shit.
Also, more emphasis on lesbian Dio.
It's simple. He just and it works.
Well I suppose, I mean Dio has two stands, Hermit Puple and The World so it isnt that much of a stretch to think that he has more 'spiritual' power and can have several stands because he is a vampire and that all his stands are connected to the Joestars
If you think about it, Dio actually has two bodies.
His [well, the head counts] and Jonathan's.
So, it wouldn't be very far fetched if The World was his own stand while Hermit Purple was from Jonathan..
Filthy dumb cis scum
I hate his face and hair after absorbing Joseph's blood. Looks like a generic villain #123300.
He looks like a mesbian on roids.
I blame Joseph. Clearly he wasted all of his testosterone on Jotaro.
I dont even
how did JoJo went to having manly as fuck characters to overblown garish transvestite muscular lesbians?
>Being this jelly of Dio-sama
I'm not jelly of Dio sama. He is my god. I love Dio so much I spent 8 hours building a statue of him in Terruria.
Not the time nor the place.
I guess the theory can make sense, but it's always seemed pretty heavily fan-theory-esque. I can see the reasoning behind it
Hermit Purple - We saw it
Star Platinum - Shares the World's Time Stop
Crazy Diamond - Look very similar
Giorno - No clue here
Jolyne - Nothing here either.
I remember reading one anon speculate that the World had all of their powers, might be able to heal people like Crazy D, but since it's DIO, he only thought time stop was worth while and played with that and didn't bother with anything else
Pucci, get off the computer
What I've always wondered is, how the hell did the muslims find out about that anyway? Do they have people going through the internet at all times, finding things to be outraged about?
>you are now aware that lisa lisa probably died after joseph
No body gives a crap about that kind of stuff. I bet, 90% of muslims don't even care. And what's weird is that the 10% who do care don't read manga. Seriously, how the fuck did they find out?
What? Nigger she was 100 in SDC, and might still be alive then. As far as we know, Joseph lived up until it was time for Heaven
Another question, wouldn't it be... a good thing that somebody is reading the Qu'ran? Isn't that what religions usually want, for people to readtheir religious texts? Gatdam, these muslims are silly
fuck off back to /v/ taco burritoman
oh shit he was still alive when https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uMfLjnzCy3E?
i thought he died between part 4 and 6 because he was old as fuck
I don't even know. As far as I know, usual muslims don't give half a fuck about this stuff and even crazy muslims in Saudi Arabia or something should just take this as advertising. What the fuck is wrong with people?
Also, how long do you guys think it would take Araki to finish Jojolion?
I mean, he could have. But it's never mentioned, and Joseph passing away would probably get mentioned at least once. So I just assume he was still alive, if maybe not kicking much.
>even speedwagon is QUALITY
It doesn't make much sense to me. Dio doesn't even comment on the Qu'ran. The fucker is in Egypt, and he's always been shown to be well read. There is no reason in the world he wouldn't pick up the Qu'ran, if only out of curiosity.
>Egyptian Islamic fundamentalists
Oh, I get it now.
move your mouse, then pretend everything on your desktop is a sentinent being and all of them were completely unaware of anything that happened during the time it took you to move the mouse.
it's not as complicated as people like to joke it is.
Seriously. How the hell do Egyptian Islamic fundamentalists become aware of this in the first place? I'm pretty sure JoJo isn't published in the middle east.
because they hunt jackals, not foxes.
>"Papa! I have returned from America! I have brought many souveneers, including these 'comic books' for us to read!"
I don't know. It's fucking Egypt. I assume they got mystics and shit to look out for this stuff or something.
It's probably related to money though. Lawsuits and stuff I assume..
>implying your dad would read 'comic books'
>implying people would even fucking notice what Dio was reading.
This is actually the first time I've heard about it.
Liquid that doesn't mean anything in this conversation.
I'll go with mystic angry muslim fundamentalists. It'd be like if people in London automatically knew something fictional took place in London
Who FF here?
>watching TV vesrion now that the BDs are out
At least you didn't pick Commie
Commie's Christmas release of Vol.1 JoJo BDs are really good though. They even have DUWANG sub tracks along side the official subs and commie sub.
I wonder if they released Vol. 2 yet.
I heard it described as weaponized server lag
the best way to understand it is probably to compare the manga with the vidya game, like
it wasn't particularly good foreshadowing, but they did say a few times in the manga and before the final fight that Star Platinum and The World were the same type of stand, which would explain the time stop shit.
Asspull or not, it was a really good moment in the manga. I liked it at least.
Josuke, Giorno and Joleyne didn't have a stand at that time or weren't even born yet.
Commie was way better for jojo than gg.
God that was hilarious.
Josuke was suffering the same symptoms as Holly was during the events of Stardust Crusaders
I never used Commie for JoJo. I did use gg before the joke subs got old and I actually read JoJo and abandoned them. I ended up going with Nutbladder, which might or might not be good. They did lots of neat stuff with the anime to endear it to me though
Commie was good, but slower because they typeset the SFX. The script was fine and there was no "epic trolling". Nutbladder was good too, aside from a few typos they fixed in v2's, plus they included Get Back in the last ep.
>that punching sound
in ASB the barrages of punches sounded light as shit
I always heard the SFX was a reason to check out Commie, but as I already had v2s of Nutbladder I didn't have much problems. As long as a group had Get Back as the last ED, I was happy. Several groups did that though, I think.
For the most part yeah, the punches were too quiet. But they did get the sound of ripple punches pretty close to how it was described, so that made up for it in my book
