Can someone explain the FLCL manga to me? I get the whole anime series' being a sort of allegory for puberty and all this freudian imagery and such, but the Manga is so chaotic. Each page has nothing to do with the last one, or it completely changes the storyline every couple of pages, and it's really hard to understand. Is Ueda simply nuts?
Bump. Just finished it too. I'm also confused as shit
>sort of allegory for puberty and all this freudian imagery
you're wrong. it has nothing to do with that at all
Fuck off, I'm wrong. Murdering his dad for Haruko was obvious oedipal imagery and the show's obsession with putting phallic objects in Naota's head = boners
Steppenwolf much ?
read the voichi hotel next OP
he never killed his dad
Sure, he didn't but the castration anxiety he got caused him to lash out. Still oedipal
>Hey ma this anime is so unique and mysterious. There MUST be hidden themes and symbolism in it!
>whole anime series' being a sort of allegory for puberty and all this freudian imagery and such
It definitely wasn't that deep. It's something the gainax animators made to blow off some steam.
In the manga? He totally did. And his granps told him it was alright.
In the manga he did, but in the anime it's later told that the dad he murdered was a doppelganger of sorts.
Naota killed off a robot modeled after his dad that was created by Haruko because he thought they were fucking and he was bragging about it.
Why do people always have to deny the obvious? FLCL could've been called "Metaphors for Puberty: The Anime" and you ignorant fucks would still dismiss that shit as being wacky random stuff the animators threw in for shits and giggles.
