Why didn't you tell me this show was so good, /a/?
I watched all of the 6 seasons and OVA in a span of two weeks and had a shitload of fun. I can't believe I've missed this for so long.
what anime OP
give me the sauce
Because it ended ages ago
But even then, we didn't talk about it very much
>watching sports anime
I don't want to start a show that has 6 seasons
Only season 1 is especially good. The last 2-3 seasons are also nice, but not worth going through the middle seasons.
People only talked about it during seasons 2-3 for some reason (to say they were shit). We had maybe 1 thread/month during season 1.
Was it better than one outs?
apples and oranges
but yes, I think it was
I remember there were occasional threads during the Baseball Classic season.
Mom was the best girl
Man, I bought the entire manga when I lived in Japan, but I could only carry back 10~ volumes back with me.
At least I have the volume 73+Message OVA pack.
It gets mentioned quite often in sports threads.
The sixth season is quite shitty, even though my favorite one is the third one and most people say It's garbage.
Completely different baseball focus. To compare it to something similar, is better than Daiya no Ace and Touch.
I lost the screenshot of Goro and his mom in the bath which was good bait for sauce request.
The many roles of Kenyuu Horiuchi.
mayumara was the best girl
komori was a close second
>Attenshun purisu, pitchah numbah fiftii-sikusu, Gowroww SHIGENO
That and the background music got me hyped as fuck
I don't shake hands with black people
>Not watching sportshits
I'm planning to watch it after I fell in love with Diamond no Ace but 6 seasons would take me ages to get through.
>watching Major beyond season 2
>enjoying Major beyond season 2
plenty of time before spring training
>you will never know what happened to the 2blacks+hispanic bro after the tryouts
A spinoff would be nice
Season 4 was terrible, but that aside, everything else was pretty neat
>Not watching dat age progression
Has there ever been a bad baseball anime?
Yes Major, after S3
>Daisuke Namikawa as Joe Gibson Jr.
Well, he was a bitch.
>Koyasu as brodad
He was so young
The worst is the one with the showa little girls and even it's sort of good.
Only little girls anime I have ever enjoyed.
I enjoyed it for the cute girls and baseball, but the slutiness fucking ruined everything.
Season six was the best and one of the few times Goro couldn't deal with his problems by being an awesome baseball dude.
I remember Lesbians, the macho BF another dude prying on a girl way too young for him but no sluts.
It tried to be authentic as far as baseball went which is more than you can say with shit like >>100043030
I bet you don't even know shit about baseball basics.
>Hurr you can't throw more than one type of fastball
This isn't true.
Cool assumptions. I can assume that you prefer Ace of Diamond over Oofuri too.
Both are pretty generic. H2 is the best baseball manga I've ever read.
Oofuri is not generic, H2 is as Adachi has been rehashing the same thing for 30+ years.
That said Adachi is doing a very good job as telling the same story with the same characters again and again and agin. I like his works a lot.
But Oofuri is best in spite of the subpar drawings and AnD is good.
Probably because its baseball. One of the better sports protagonists in my opinion.
Because the manga was never properly translated so I cry myself in the nights.
Less psychological. More about chasing your dreams despite all of the shit life might throw at you. The protagonist is usually at a handicap, which is usually being a baseball team filled with players who've never played before. But when they pull through, its usually not because of said protagonist.
This series knew how to be depressing at times. The first few episodes of S1 caught me off guard, but the first half or so of S6 really hit home because it reminded me of my senior year playing tennis. .
What happened to his real mother anyway?
How bad actually is Moshidora ?
I remember watching the first (or first two ?) episodes and finding it pretty bad at the time, but I've suddenly remembered about it when having a short presentation about Peter Drucker.
First 9 episodes are REALLY bad and the last one is mediocre at best
Well, I guess I know what I won't be watching.
Like the previous /a/non said, it's really bad. The whole ideal of using business management theory to make a successful baseball team was so forced and stupid. I don't know how I managed to get through that series.
Are there any baseball anime where the main character isn't a pitcher?
Why not a mecha anime where the main character doesn't have a super special prototype while you're at it ?
Oofuri technically has a pitcher as main character, but he's such an awkward mess that for all intents and purposes, the catcher fills much of the role. A proxy protagonist, you could say.
There is a doujin with Hanai tapping that ass somewhere.
The main character of Moshidora is the manager. And Adachi did a short series with an MC female manager as well which I can't recall the name of atm.
Is it as enjoyable as Diamond no Ace?
What are your favourite baseball episodes in non-baseball anime?
Diamond no Ass is a shit Major, so yes, if not moreso
I liked the Haruhi and Kuuchuu Buranko ones.
Everyone in here is saying how crap the later seasons were, but I watched all six seasons and loved them all. Every season final game with Goro going full beastmode was fucking awesome. Fuck the haters/
It's a poor man's Major.
But seriously, yes it's great. Personally, Major is one of my favorite anime. It has a great balance of baseball, drama, and the characters that sucks you in. Whereas Ace of Diamond feels solely concentrated on just baseball. Which isn't a bad thing as I'm enjoying Diamond right now too.
Crap. If you don't have anything against manga then read Last Inning (pic related) where the MC is coach. And most prominent of the players is catcher. It's basically coach manipulating catcher into manipulating other team-mates. It's pretty fine.
Sports anime/manga are the only consistently good entertainment that Japan puts out.
It's also good because it keeps fatties with weak spirits out of the fanbase, preventing it from turning into shit (like so many moe harem shows).
Technically not baseball but the rugball arc in Cobra was awesome
Hajime no Ippo's baseball arc is the only one I can think of at the top of my head, but goddamn it is fucking hilarious. I'd post a page, but fuck if I know which chapter it was in a 1000+ chapter series.
Well shit, I'd never have known there was a baseball arc in Ippo. That sounds like a lot of fun.
Chapter 701, right after the most brutal and dramatic match in this manga Mashiba vs. Sawamura. It was pretty hilarious.
Googled it, it's Vol.74-75, chapters 700-704, if anyone else wants to read it.
It feels nothing like Major.
MC sure is hotblooded but he's kinda shit at playing baseball unlike the almighty Mary-Sue Goto.
That said I haven't watched the last cour of Major (pto sport a shit) but I've heard he isn't as almighty when in the sates.
I liked every Major season.
Didn't even know people hated some seasons.
Reading this now.
>Takamura at short
>not a corner infielder
The super duper training of doom on the Island arc felt kinda wrong.
Do Jap HS really put that much effort and money in baseball ?
I don't know, I never trained for some sports, especially not in some famous school.
Thanks, /a/nons. Just finished re-reading it. Haven't laughed that hard in a while.
If I liked Oofuri and Dia no Ace, will I like this?
I only disliked the third season and the fifth OP.
Sports anime continuing from previous season are the only airing shows I'm watching at the moment.
Votoms, Gundam 0080, Gundam 08th MS team.
God bless CA and their outdated subs
