How did we go from THIS
God dammit Funimation
I'm not even a fan and I find that vaguely upsetting.
This literally looks like the "1080p" videos people make themselves and upload to Youtube. Just layer after layer.
Looks fucking terrible.
you're not kidding it's so bad
THIS HURTS US
video quality is unimportant, might as well use vhs for the hell of it
I remember hearing some shit about the NA BDs of Dragon Ball, but man oh man, this is revolting if true.
>they changed the green sky to blue again during the goku vs vegeta fight
This picture is clearly trying to copy watamote.
I don't get it. They made it better?
They gotta make it look different somehow when they keep releasing another new edition of DBZ DVD/BR every year
The older Popeye cartoons looked much different when they came out. As time went on, rotting film stained the cartoons and efforts were made to restore them. With each "remaster," the frames were treated extensively through another studio's lens. By 2000, you were looking at a marginally different cartoon.
It's a necessary evil we put up with, because the only constant force in the universe that will remain after terminal exhaustion is decay. Every picture, video, song and possession we hold dear will sit, then mold, then rot, then crumble, then scatter.
Remasters are desperate and petty attempts to preserve the past. The hardest part is letting go.
That's just not right man.
What? It looks better with vibrant colors
What the fuck is wrong with captcha today?
Mhh, that's nasty. I never envisioned her brown.
Just read the manga
The point seems to be that they cut the top and bottom of the frames to make it look widescreen.
Looks like they ran the old cells through Trace in Illustrator and called it a day
The sky was only green because of bad footage. It was blue in the Japanese broadcast. Not that this remaster is good.
What color did you think a dryad would be
I'm colorblind, I don't think in colors.
Did they just apply a bloody filter to it?
Great counter-argument there
Then how did you know she was brown
Not him but I'm pretty sure people who are colorblind don't just see black and white.
inb4 pretending to be retarded
>not liking filters
Sorry it's progress get over it fag
That's not cell that's piccolo
The difference now is with technology we do now have the ability to keep old stuff basically indefinitely, or at least until the end of mankind.
