What did /a/ think of TTGL?
Who is best girl?
Why were there so many people butthurt about KLK asspulls when they were nowhere on the scope of TTGL asspulls?
That being said I enjoyed the ride.
When it aired none of this "best girl" stuff existed
What was /a/ like then?
Was it good?
touhou spam, sage bombing, no captcha
So that's a yes?
Pretty sure that was a no.
Sure, it was a lot of fun back then.
weeaboos have had best girl wars for a long time now, anon. You shouldn't talk as if you were on /a/ in 2007
>people have been trying to save anime for almost 20 years
No dude, 4chan was a lot more isolated back then and took the piss out of almost everything. "Mai waifu" threads then existed to lampoon the pathetic 2chan fucks that wanted to marry their dakis
>Why were there so many people butthurt about KLK asspulls when they were nowhere on the scope of TTGL asspulls?
Because they're fucking hypocrites.
Sure it was anon, we took it a lot easier prior to, uhh, 2008 or so, even with the sagebombs and spam and whatever.
TTGL's asspulls are nothing new in the genre of super mech.
So you have to expect them
If it did, it'd be Yoko right? Right?
i don't know and don't care
There are no TTGL ass pulls, only the drill that pierces the heavens.
best girl stuff != waifu stuff
he has his mole, that's as good a friend as any
As it should be
Most threads 07wise were TTGL or LS threads
Who cares if they were virgins or not.
You so beta that you think whether or not you've had sex makes you a real man?
Look at what they did, not who they fucked you piece of gabage.
The bullshit part was that Simon didn't resurrect Nia. He's basically Spiral Jesus, and crossed time and space to save her, only to let her die?
But dead people are dead anon.
The asspulls are part of its charm.
>It's ok if Spiral Power destroys the universe
>Resurrecting one dead person (that you damned the universe for)? Nope not allowed
I liked it
>That being said I enjoyed the ride.
And this is what has been lost on /a/ since the airing of TTGL. /a/ no longer has the capacity to "enjoy the ride." They now have to shitpost and argue why their favorite anime is "objectively good" instead of agreeing that some anime is just fun to watch and no further analysis is required.
Just finished ttgl, the ending was really unsatisfying from a plot perspective, with Nia dying and Simon becoming completely irrelevant, although the ridiculous battles were really fun. I just wish it matched the opening for the first episode.
don't forget that yoko became a man
TTGL was a lot more polished than KLK was.
better animated, the stakes were higher, the characters were more likable.
It was Gainax doing what they do best fanwanking to mech anime.
The opening in the first episode was what would have happened if Simon had chosen to abuse spiral power. Thus he says
>all the stars in the sky are our enemies
but at the end when he's an old hippie hobo, he says
>all the stars in the sky are our friends
6 years later and I'm still mad.
