Why was this movie so shitty when the anime was so good? Don't even start on the MAL shit talk I know SG isn't the greatest anime ever and I know it has flaws but fuck Steins Gate was an enjoyable anime.
Went into the movie so excited because it focuses on Kurisu (and it admit it you faggots you love Kurisu for her tsundere) but it turned into 90 minutes of drawn out interior monologue, cheap feels moments and a beyond shitty and rushed ending.
Butthurt as fuck that this movie left such a bad taste in my mouth for Steins;Gate.
Pretty sure it's not from the vn so it's bound to be different. I still liked it though.
never played the vn so I wouldn't know.
Nothing bad about being different. Just being executed poorly.
The anime was an adaptation. The movie was an original content. You shouldn't have set your expectations high.
Yeah I was expecting some extra little closure but got some dumb story. I still really liked the parts focusing on Okabe like the knife scene.
Huh got finished watching the show so I"m happy a thread was here.
Show was great I'm going to treat the movie as a way to show kurusuin (I can't remember their names well) was willing to go the same distance as okirin which was a theme that showed up a few times during the series
>I'm going to treat the movie as a way to show kurusuin (I can't remember their names well) was willing to go the same distance as okirin
First of all, how the fuck are you that bad with names? Secondly, that wasn't really what the movie was about. It was really showing the effects of the original series and Kurisu having an introspection.
I understand if you can mispell Kurisu but how the fuck is Okarin a forgettable name? Movie was basically Kurisu fan service in retrospect, unnecessary but I enjoyed it regardless just like the OVA considering it's an anime original.
I'm betting that in Chaos;Child or something it'll turn out that the events of the movie were really important.
I mixed up the katakana spelling of christina, Secondly opinion that is a better interpretation. Only wish it had better pacing
Oh what, is he living where Takumi used to live?
No, Takumi lived on top of some building. And I believe you find out in Love Chu Chu that the place was destroyed in the earthquake.
Man that game was creepy
Yeah it's kinda pathetic of me, as it was used mostly in the second half I wasn't all there as I marathoned the entire thing while half asleep.
Was the movie outstanding? No, but I will say it was enjoyable. OP, you went in too headstrong. Now, we all love Kurisu, but if you really thought she was all and everything to Steins;Gate, sorry to say this but she wasn't.
I will say the movie felt rushed and the ending was kindaa let down, but it brought closure to how the movie was intended to be
Agreed I'm happy the anime ended on a rather light note, the movie was nice to show the characters continued onward. I was emotionally invested in the characters more than I was expecting
Reminder that Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, and Robotics;Notes all had good endings so that everyone can die in the last installment.
Just forget about it.
>Now, we all love Kurisu, but if you really thought she was all and everything to Steins;Gate, sorry to say this but she wasn't.
uhm, i never thought that.
What do you mean it brought closure to how the movie was intended to be?
Watched it with a friend. The movie was so bad it was akward
I can't take Chaos;Head and the rest of the sci adv series seriously after Steins;gate
>mfw I have it downloaded and had totally forgotten about it, but now that I know it will leave an aftertaste, I won't watch it
Thanks a lot OP.
Don't listen to his opinion, it depends on what you personally enjoy.
I, along with a good number of anons, enjoyed it for what it was, a "fun" movie that isn't really centred on intricate plot ideas like the original but had beautiful Kurisu yearning for Okarin's pure love with an at least decent plot.
Also the ED was godtier.
The whole reason I didn't like it was because it tried to be more serious and feels-inducing than the series and ended up with a lot of boring, expository inner monologue from Kurisu.
I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the movie because it was essentially more steins gate but the ending was just horrendously bad.
>it tried to be more serious and feels-inducing than the series
Are you forgetting the entire second half of the series?
steins gate is shit
dropped after first ep
I'm sorry that you need things spelled out to you in neon letters.
i watch deep anime like fate zero and madoka
back the fuck off
Fuck you kids. Just read the VN.
Go troll somewhere else please.
I liked it. Wasn't a masterpiece like S;G but it was enjoyable. It didn't detract from the series.
Just think of it this way. It could have been Eureka Seven AO or Last Exile Fam or Darker than Black 2 or Nadesico Prince of Darkness...
Chaos;Head Noah translation when.
As someone who has read most of the spinnoffs and visual novels this was pretty much what was to be expected. I'm just happy that they didn't make recap movie, that would have been total waste of money.
It's ok movie and it was nice to see characters 1 year after, only thing that really bothers is that watching movie second time after debates about R-line here i'm pretty sure that movie breaks the timeline mechanics that they originally created.
Was it perfect? No, but it did what I wanted it to do.
You should have saw it coming when they gave the premise of the plot.
