The best 3 are
Kids on the Slope
Just as much as K-on.
The defining musical anime of all anime is K-ON, obviously. It's the only one that actually escaped the late night slot into a prime time one and even got widely distributed around the world. A version of K-ON was aired on the Disney channel in the US. No other anime can even compare to that level of success, at least so far.
2. Kids on the Slope
3. K-on! (It's only on the list because it's the only other musical anime I remember watching)
nothing else is worth mentioning
Are you serious? Music was a really large part of the show
No other anime has made me happier than I was when hearing this for the first time
What can you say of Nodame?
I've not heard of it. I've watched beck and sakamichi. Loved both to death,
I remember it mostly focusing on relationships instead of actual music-making. When you compare it to music heavy shows like Beck, it doesn't really come out as a "musical" anime.
My memory might be failing me, but I only remember a few concerts, and the whole basement thing. The music was definitely there, but it felt more like something on the side.
Personally, I would say it's a show with musical elements, but not quite a "musical anime".
Man I swear when that came out I was just fucking blown away, jesus. I must have watched that 10 times in a row. It was incredible
Nodame is about half romance half music. The MC is going to school to become a pianist but then switches to the conductor class. It's classical music
No, he's not asking for a good OST, he's talking about music anime
>ITT: some guy who just finished apollon and is over half the posts in the thread
it was mediocre as fuck and wasted potential
I like Nodame Cantabile the best for music.
I feel bad for anyone who saw this shit based on this image.
It still doesn't change the fact that there's no heavy/serious focus on music, so people don't really see it as a musical anime.
I'm sure we'll see Sonico and her friends dicking around with their instruments in multiple episodes too. Are you going to say it's a musical anime as well?
Only one episode's out, dude.
Yet it still looks like shit. The only answers are Beck and Nodame. I havn't seen the one in the OP.
>charming comedy full of fun characters, fun music, and excellent animation
>feel bad for anyone who watched it
Maybe if you're a tasteless homosexual.
Beck was too fucking amateur and often with the engrish for me to really appreciate it
If we're talking soundtracks Nodame's annihilates most of the completion, it's ridiculously inclusive when it comes to covering classical.
manga is rad as fuck though
>dat art for each chapter page
>The defining musical anime of all anime is K-ON, obviously.
But K-On! didn't have music
Best comedy music anime.
I'm going to have to rewatch both Kids on the slope and Beck now. Fuck you guys.
So, how about this scene?
Anybody who doesn't say Nodame hasn't seen Nodame.
Nodame introduced me to Rachmaninoff
Doubly embarrassing considering one of the characters is supposed to speak English better than he can speak Japanese.
I like the dub.
Ryuusuke spoke way better English than any of Maho's friends at least.
But he still let this slide. It's like they took Nirvana lyrics and ran them through google translate and back.
>I let myself down that I'm more cruel then I thought I would be.
>I'm just a loser who ends up by caring for my soul.
macross: do you remember love
Jesus that fucking song. That opening. The piano. I swear I will see that performed live in a concert hall before I die.

... And now I feel like rewatching Nodame too haha
Definitely a fun one
Symphogear, Idolm@ster and White Album are my top 3
Horrid animation quality in the first season. It was either panning stills, or very blantant, bad cgi.
However, if you can look past that, you'll find an excellent, well-rounded show that will expand your musical palette. I like it more than Sakamichi, never seen Beck. And I thought Sakamichi was amazing too.
Any other answer is incorrect.
My dear friend, I am happy to share the same opinion as yours.
The manga is amazing. I'm sad we'll never see animated Eddie die but both were amazing to me.
