So, let me apologize in advance for not knowing enough but.. Tell me, how screwed is the new Sailor Moon? Or is there hope?
Director: Munehisa Sakai
Series Composition: Yuji Kobayashi
Animation Production: Toei Animation
The only person out of the two I could find info on said he worked on about 100 eps of One Piece, and the other I can't find anything about. I'm honestly not very familiar with Toei's work as a company, either.
Any opinions or insight would be great! Thank you!
There's hope if they stay close to the source material
Knowing Toei though every second episode will have shitty animation as they rotate their good animators between this, One Piece, Precure and Saint Seiya
Commit Sudoku, anon, because the only way the anime won't be an awful piece of shit is having Umakoshi as the character designer.
They will use the usual studio in the Philippines, and fix it when it gets onto DVD.
I've never actually watched One Piece, Precure, or Saint Seiya. Is the drop in animation quality pretty obvious when they switch out?
Umakoshi? What characters did he design? Sorry for being so clueless. I'm borderline casual, so names escape me.
Original Concept: Naoko Takeuchi
It's already guaranteed to be shit.
But that happens to a lot of series nowadays anyway, doesn't it? Every series seems to have a BD release that makes everything 100% better. So I won't mind if the NicoNico release is a little shoddy if the BD release makes up for it.
Ojamajo Doremi, Casshern Sins, Heartcatch Precure, Saint Seiya Omega...
I haven't watched Sailor Moon for 20 years, how did it ever went to shit `?
Last thing I remember was them fighting in a spacelike looking enviromnent.
At least it's not Yuu Watase where storylines and characters are all the same and names don't matter!
At least Yuu Watase's art is good.
Oh.. I'm not a huge fan of those designs anyway. But it's really just a preference, I guess. Do you have a favorite design from him? The image you posted seems a little childish, or is that the style he's known for?
Shit son, lurk more.
I'm not sure I follow. Can that be rephrased?
It took me some time, but this is a troll thread. Good one, OP. 6/10.
I lurk plenty, but I tend to glaze over threads with series I don't know about/aren't interested in. I think that's a pretty common thing, you know? Sorry for not being more familiar with it, though.
I am legitimately not a toll. I know saying that tends to just make it worse, but.. Really. I'm just NOT familiar with Toei's stuff and Precure's always seemed to childish. If that's not the case, then I accept the fact that I'm an idiot.
I just hope they don't delay it even more. It was the 25th anniv not the 30th you nippy fucks.
But...that's exactly what Takuechi's work is except she's no where near as good of an artist as Watase.

Always be leery of Toei. They're notorious for shit quality across the board. They're like the WB of anime.
Here's hoping! A whole year's delay is kind of rough, but I'm optimistic.
See, the problem is that art quality does not mean character or storyline quality. Even if she is a more talented artist, it doesn't guarantee that she's a good writer. I think we've seen a lot of examples of pretty but awful anime/manga series out there. I really do feel like Takeuchi does a great job of making lovable/memorable characters and that's what is important in the long run.
What, I thought it was canceled?
Finally got real confirmation and everything. Be optimistic, anon!
Took me awhile to figure it out, too.
Okay, now I'm lost. The sample part is from the file name pulled off Safebooru. I was just pulling off some relevant art to post in the thread so it wouldn't be empty? I've tried Pixiv, but it's hard to navigate.
I hope it won't get delayed again to next year.
The plot in Sailor Moon is a fucking mess and has so much wasted potential. See Mamoru's 4 guardian guys who became stones and never appeared again. And they were the girls' lovers in their previous lives, they were supposed to be relevant.
I think now that they've made an official announcement at the future streaming source, we have a good chance to have it air in July this time around.
I never said it guaranteed she's a good writer, just that she's a better artist. All I'm saying is it doesn't make sense to argue "at least Takuechi isn't Watase" with storylines when you could argue they have the same flaw in storylines being too similar.
But she's a better writer. As much as I dislike some of her shoujoshit, Watase can write good stories.
The problem is that the story was only planned to last for one arc/season, so when it was extended a lot of stuff had to be meaningless. The second arc dealt with enemies from the future because the story had already told everything they could from the past, but afterwards they had to retcon and minimize a lot of things from the Dark Kingdom so the rest of the story would have some weight. Arcs three and beyond are about a new side of the girls' past with each arc retconning more and more stuff, to the point that their final enemy is an amalgamation of all previous enemies.
So I can find about 0 information about this guy.
That sounds awesome and almost makes me regret not reading the manga.
Read it. It is awesome.
You mean a 2 year delay.. that shit was announced in summer 2012..
Why do Sailor Moon threads attract so many newfags? Honest question.
No, it's a 1 year delay. It was announced in July 2012 that it would air in July 2013. July 2014 is one year after original announced airdate.
I don't know, but they aren't the usual breed of newfags. They have a little dignity.
read it, the story line is MUCH better, but the anime will always be superior in my eyes simple becasue the monster of the week formula worked for it, and the fact that i really prefer its character designs, the manga's look just wasnt for me.
>The only person out of the two I could find info on said he worked on about 100 eps of One Piece
Okay. This depends on what episodes of One Piece he worked on. If it's the earlier episodes, okay
If it's the latter episodes, it can go fuck itself
These people are run of the mill middle ground Toei employees. It could go absolutely any way.
