What's the best 3d program to download if I just want to rotate models and use them for art reference? There are a lot of XNALara models on deviantart but I was wondering if there's a better program and place to download models from. Thanks.
>>708664Art reference as in drawing/copying obviously
you could just use sketchfab for that, no need to download anything
>>708666Blender 2.79 has a addon for xps.Daz 3D was made for references. What do you want to draw.
>>708667It's hard to find good models on sketchfab, they always seem kind of low quality to me
>>708668Just portraits of girls from various games. I find this is a helpful way for me to learn how to draw stylized characters
>>708670Use blender and find xps on devianart for that. You probably want to pose them so you will have to get familiar with some of it, posing and maybe a bit of lighting. There are tons of tutorials that will explain what you need to know about the program to pose and light the character.
>>708671to add to this, you can also get tools to import Source Filmmaker assets into blender which opens up the entire steam workshop catalog for getting models.
>>708669>says the amateur
>>708664marmoset.
>>708664MS Paint.No joke.
>>708668>>708671What's the benefit of using blender over xnalara?
>>708731I am not familiar with the xnalara, so I am not sure what limits it has for setting up your scene. With Blender you don't need to learn much to set up a scene to your liking(pose, lighting, lens)And you should find the answers to all questions that will arise fairly quickly by doing a quick search on the internet.
>>708731Can you model or do corrections to your rig and weights in xnalara?
>>708668>Blender 2.79 has a addon for xps.so are the addons for xps not compatible with 2.8? I'm still fairly new to blender and currently use 2.8 exclusively
>>708752>and currently use 2.8 exclusivelybig mistake, 2.79 is the superior version
>>708752I would stick with 2.79 for now. The features 2.8 has are not important for what you want.
>>708754>>708753keep in mind i'm not OP i'm just curious. I am enjoying 2.8 personally and am getting very familar with the interface.
>>708664blender 2.7 is pretty quick 2.8 lags from what I hear/seeexporting xnalara models into obj, then importing the obj to blender is the easiest way to do and has less errors
>>708752https://github.com/johnzero7/XNALaraMeshworks with 2.82.8 still has it's kinks, unless you need any of the new features 2.79 is my recommendation.
>>708759>2.8 still has it's kinkswell thats a lie. 2.8 is STABLE.
>>709008yea but no bevel tho
