blender + octane standalone is the true patrician choice
>>
octane is trash compared to many options master race Redshift

Agreed. I actually paid for Redshift, that's how good it is.

So THIS is the power of Octane.
You may not like it, but this is what peak rendering looks like.

based blendlet

aside from a few kinks porting textures to octane it really is the best option imo. I literally switched from modo to blender because it's just that good

A lot of 3d fags tell the same, maybe it's cool telling that RS is wow and Octane not.
I tried both, RS needs more work to get to the result, but it allows more control on layers.
For what i can say, Octane seems a bit faster than RS, at least when you need simple renders.
RS is better and faster for metals.
Octane displacement kicks asses to RS.
I didn't try the last versions tough.

Main reason i got octane over redshift was that redshift does volumetrics waaaaay faster and i love volumetrics. A lot of my friends also have light linking or other small issues with octane and although it's technically more realistic i was coming from vray where i enjoy having loads of options

you mean clouds and fog?
