Hello /3/Can we have a thread dedicated to the discussion of creating assets, worlds, and avatar in Vrchat? Here are some official resources:>https://www.vrchat.net/>https://sketchfab.com/search?q=vrchat&sort_by=-pertinence&type=models>https://www.deviantart.com/search?page=3&q=vrchat%20dl
She looks retarded. Is that intentional?
>VRchat is just a ga-
Do you still need a paid plugin for unity if you want dynamic bones that are affected by physics?
>>702874-y shit for friendless faggots
>>702874God i wish that were me OwO
>>702786>three guys actually trying over a deluge of memeshit, crappyshit and a tsunami of furryshitWhy even bother trying to break into this market anyway? Your average user is happy to rip some model off of bowlroll for a quick sleeve conversion or add some crappy shirt texture to a TDA base. Might as well be pissing in the wind.
>>702786The last two commissions I got for VRChat were furry avatars.
Good. As long as these freaks are contained in their VR playpen they won't do any damage in the real world.
>>703397Furries pay a lot, I'm a drawfag but I got $60 for a default pose fullbody with flat colors and no background.
>>703518How long did it take you to finish it? I'd say that for one or even two hours of work that's more of a fair rate than "a lot".
>>703522I think seven hours. Thanks, anon. It's just twice as much as I was getting before, so I was in honest shock. I was sure a flat color fullbody isn't worth more than $35, maybe it's like this on deviantArt that people are selling their art cheap. I constantly feel pressured to keep practicing fundamentals (/ic/ got me on a right path, but it planted a ton of insecurity on me), so I'm afraid to ask for higher prices.
>>>/wsg/3036560For your troubles
>>705597Please tell me that avatar is public.
Everyone uses vrchat to fuck. Good luck finding anyone in that 'game' that has the slightest interest in modeling.
Got around 300 for worlds in vrchat, i spend maybe 4~ 5 days per world, i don't make avatars i find that too problematic.
>>705682That's the whole point.
>>702961How do you get commissions?
>>705688Shut up faggot
>>706195Get a social media following and advertise
>>702786VRchat is shit in every aspect. Played for year in VR goggles. Lost all respect i had. It's shit.
>>706390Yea I hate when I play a game for a year at it turns out bad.
>>706209Facebook or twitter?
Deviant art has a massive collection of assets and models.
>>702786jesus fucking christ kill it with fireand kill yourselfpreferably with fire
>>706968You just can't enjoy the finer things in life, can't you?
>>707114That's one shitty life you lead if this is one of the finest things you can think of.
>>707115You tell me.You're the one still watching this thread.
>>707240He clearly wasn't the only one when you posted that.Edit: grammar
>>703518I fucking hate furries but if I can make that much money off of them I can suck it up.
I want a Joker derp
ono, hoo taught the blendlet how to meak furry pr0n?
>>708525yeah, the source is me.
also, ima just plug this. you can DL this one over at: https://vrcmods.com/item/5688
>>708522>>708529I always wondered why furry art always had such an atrocious quality. Since that's gonna be the only time I can actually communicate with a furry, would you be so kind to elaborate on this? Is it too hard to model with one hand or perhaps the lack of references plays a crucial role?
>>708583The truth is that while I DO know how to model anatomically correct, I always chose not to due to how boring realistic body prepositions are to me.That's the short of it
>>708597That's quite an elaborate way of saying >muh style.
>>708597You really think that anatomy is the problem?
>>708522Pretty nice desu. Can I see a wireframe please?
>>708602was there ever a problem?
>>7086071. the wings were an OLD model that was meant to be a TF2 power up.2. you cant see it clearly in this shot but this face exploits Unity's stencil buffer to even more anime-styled faces, I can explain later how I did that.3. this hack I did with the legs is not necessary at all, at least for these hips. At the time I modeled this I didn't realize the better method. That being said I plan of making a v2 where I fix this for something that can bend much better and doesn't need segmentation to reduce the ugliness of twisting this joint.
>>708612I guess the one thing I would say is that the amount of geometry seems really excessive, especially since you're making it clear the model was meant for more cartoony shading from the outset. May I get a closer look at the face?
>>708616It is a bit too high res for typical video game operations. Frankly however people in VRChat actually frown upon anything under 20k, (especially this one guy in my discord server that thinks anything under 100k is trash). Optimization is neglected a lot on VRChat.Anyway as for the face, the short of it is that I can use different materials to cut stuff out in the screen space, think of it as a per-frame blue-taping procedure.
>>708612good lord, what a mess...but then again I'm not bothering with came content
>>708650Welcome to VRChat. Lol
>>708588but wait there's more! Now how much will you cringe?
>>708612>2. you cant see it clearly in this shot but this face exploits Unity's stencil buffer to even more anime-styled faces, I can explain later how I did that. Please explain this.
>>708761this was KINDA explained in post >>708617 albeit it was an oversimplified explanation. so for (you) I will use this screenshot of the Minecraft mod "Better Nether Portals" to visually explain what I did.basically this uses at least 3 materials.the first one (the mask as I call it) does not render at all but instead marks pixels in the screen space as a value of '1'.the second material renders like normal EXCEPT it is only visible in the stenciled region on the screen.the third material also renders like normal EXCEPT it is not visible anywhere in the stenciled region.there is also an implied fourth material which does not even interact with the stencil at all, (basically every other material in the game).pic related's analogy is that the square inside the nether portal would be this first material (mask), the netherworld would be analogous to the second material, and finally, the overworld would be the third material.going back to my avatar the "netherportal" is basically the shape of the eye holes and mouth, which could be anywhere inside or outside of the head's mesh, it does not matter because the mask ignores the zBuffer.makes sense right?
>>708764That's a fucking retarded and convoluted way desu
>>708764What did you use it for on your model though?
>>708781Because I can.
>>708780sounds complicated but in practice, it is actually really simple.
>>708789>people that look down on low poly models and achieving the same thing is looked down uponholy shit are these guys fucking serious? thats fucking retarded. no wonder why when you join a lobby it lags a fuckton.most modern anime games dont even hit 100k tris per character. Theyre just enabling incompetence
>>708827The early need to decimate really heavy MMD models by people who had no idea what they were doing instilled some maladaptive attitudes into the VRChat culture.
>>708827and that is not counting the fact that a single character could have something like 200 materials, the draw calls maaaaan....>fuck MMD avatar users, fo real though
a cheap pastime with a minimum of effort, yet it still needs help from online experts, huh?
https://www.maketafi.com/ it's an avatar creator that lets you export to vrchat and will have an export option for editing in your favorite 3d software.
>>708848these guys used to manage morph3d which was a method of bringing daz characters and morphs into unity. No idea why they made the split
>>708830>200 materialsI do trust that you know what you're doing and just doing this to feed yourself. But i do hope you dont get influenced to half ass shit and do that too. I dont get why people wont learn how to model. I dont have any artistic talent at all and im able to make models because i practiced. And if they dont want to model theres lots of decent people who they can email or message to commission a decent model. This is just sad. The industry getting filled with guys who know "3D"
>>708848>https://www.maketafi.com/I don't see where to download.
>>708861The problem is that nearly all of the users in VRChat don't know how to use blender at all. Some people do know that optimization is important to reducing lag but often can't do anything about it.Especially sense they play on underpowered hardware. And have to spend most of their time in the box.
>>708862You have to fill in your email for beta (you can use a fake one). Be warned that everything this app does is server sided for some reason.
How hard is it to make MMD animations?
>>709020Not very hard, but very tedious. You need to understand the fundamentals of keyframe animation and gain some experience to make something that looks decent.
>>702885No because you can pirate unity assets.
You trannies better stay away from my life's work, you hear me?
>>709092What exactly would that be?
What songs would be ou want to see MMD animations made for?
>>709426What do you mean 2 vrg discords?did you get discords taken down for jelly nude leaks?
where can i find nude avatars for erpplz no judge
Does anyone know what could this gray thing on the eye might be due to? It looks fine in scene view but it gets this weird bug in game camera. It's super weird and I have no idea what might cause it or how to fix it. Using UTS2-AC no outline transclipping shader
oh no no no
>>710386Inverted normals maybe?
>>710391tried that but it wasn't the issue, seems like uts2-ac was just fucked
Hi. Oh I never left the thread BTW.
>go to sketchfab>type in "vrchat" in search bar>literally every other result is straight up furry pornJesus Christ.
>>708764Good description of stencil buffer techniques for folks that haven't heard of it.We used to implement mirrors this way in game engines--stencil mask the mirror, render the rest of the scene, switch to render only the mirror, mirror the camera through the plane of the mirror and render again.
>>709020If you wand to make MMD videos, literally all you need is VRchat and a decent screen recorder like Snagit. There are worlds you can go to where all you do is pick a song from a list, make your avatar stand in a circle, and it automatically syncs with these amazingly detailed animations, though some avatars (particular the humanoid ones) work better than others.
>>713293btw, here are the ID's of the world's in questionwrld_925a290f-ec66-417e-b1ad-124c7db8068awrld_fe5d4695-ebc7-4087-848a-c101897cf43fthis one kinda sucks -> wrld_17200768-213a-497b-9039-dabcf8634adbmy WIP -> wrld_257fa2d1-0cf9-4ad1-b036-ee8faae32616>pic unrelated
now this is what I've been looking for
>>713601Looked good from a distance then I zoomed in.
>>713601I once met a girl with a face like that. She was hot.
>>702885>Do you still need a paid plugin for unity if you want dynamic bones that are affected by physics?yea i think u still gotta buy dynamic boneor, as i and many others like to say, "buy" dynamic bone. go "buy" it.
Are there any good tutorials for making those multiple character/object emotes people keep making? I tried to do them myself but they never work in game.
>>713605You met a weresheep?
Would it be possible to make a character from an established IP and sell it on VRChat?Asking for me.
>>713846Maybe if you put the files up on a patreon or some site like gumroad. I think the Unity Asset Store has rules against IP stuff.
>>713846Possible? Yes. Legal? No.
>>713846Only privately, on a per-person commission basis, and it won't be legal. You can advertise "yes I'm making things" but you can't advertise "I'll make you your favorite waifu for the low low price of $1000"
>>713846I wonder if they'll add any kind of ingame currency and buying into VRchat, like SecondLife did. Closest thing I've seen to it is the Virtual Market events where people can set up displays of their work with a barcode link to their website or unity asset store.
How would I go about importing this model from SimplePlanes into VRchat?
Could I get a kawaii pregnant anime avatar?
>>713846Keep in mind it is REALLY easy to steal avatars in game. Otherwise I'd sell my avatars.
>>714004>won't be legalnobody will care
I want a Padoru avatar but with the carrot eating pufferfish for a head.
>>714316I could never understand why some people are good at making bodies but absolute shit at making a decent face.
>>716554doubt that, you are probably better at spotting mistakes in a face.
I need some help fixing character models from koikatsu in blender, I've followed these tutorials but they're using blender 2.7 ( I use 2.8) and I've been stuck for awhile now.https://pastebin.com/d0Ym0sr0Here's a pastebin of the guides I've gathered so far but they all use blender 2.7 can somebody please help me make this work in 2.8 It would be very much appreciated. Pic is my work so far.
>>716673Your UVs are kinda fucked
every fucking time
>>702786Does anyone know where the body of this avatar is from?
>>718523>filename>implying this is a lolianon, get your eyes checked
>>718523There's a whole world full of those robo-nekos.go find it
>>719240He's probably asking for the source model instead of avatars.
>>719240the source model
>>703526>Not milking all the neetbux out of furriesThey are willing to pay so much more. I never charge less than $500. Seems like a pittance to then compared to the thousands spent on fursuits.
>>719421someone out there makes a killing by stealing fursuit avatars and selling them as their own without any modeling skillsoy vey
>>703518Stop advertising you faggot
>>719501He'd have to leave a name to advertise anything.
>>719514Dunno, some people on this board get really pissed off when you say pornography in general is profitable.
>>719497Good for them lol. I already made my money, what do I care if someone rips it and resells it?
>>719669This is why I prefer patreon request or commission schemes to paywalls. If the money's been made making the item, then there's no fuss over people redistributing it. That said, it would be pretty shitty if that reseller is stealing potential clients from you.
post images of stupit avatars lel.
>>719777checked, also gud point there annon.
Is it possible to export Koikatsu models to use as an avatar? How would I do such a thing and what fixing might I have to do?
>>7198501 there are exporters2 reapplying surfaces, redo rig/weighting
I made a character in Koikatsu, exported it as a PMX, and now>Colors totally fucked>Some sliders ignored>All body sliders undone so the body is just defaultThe fuck did I do wrong?
> Good luck finding anyone with the slightest interest in modelling.I model things, I just am not good at it.
>>708583No need to aim for quality when your customer base is a bunch of autists with disposable income and low impulse control.
I only used ripped N64 models as my player avatars
>>719918koikatsu exporter is shit, all the shapekeys are seperated for each part too, eye blink movement not combined with eyelash movement for example
>>721694and it doesnt recognize a lot of the textures so it doesnt export half of them
>>713846you can, its your work and unless the original creator wants it pulled, like nintendo with any of their IPsbut the tsumiki onesie that was leaked and you see everywhere had no problems being soldhttps://gumroad.com/wrinkleshamwow
>>702786>tfw want to make an original vrchat model but can't justify sinking time into it when i don't even have a vr headseti just wanna explore comfy worlds, fuck
>>721712desu starting out without VR when making models is something feel most people are gonna have to do.
Is this a place I can beg to have a model made that I need? I'd ideally like the model to run with Wakaru, so basically and MMD or a VRM model.
>>702874Is there a source on this? I wonder if there is sound with it.
>>724560hmm. the cringe
Anyone care to rate the various avatar types?MMD models > nekos > derpys > vidya character rips > hoppus > assorted anime thots > everything else not mentioned > knuckles >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> wolfboys
>>725999good OC > effort meme shit with actual features (jumpscares, animations, spam-worth shit) > good vidya/anime-related models > meme shit > generic furry shit >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> literally all MMD and MMD edits
>>714177they are currently hiring for that.
>>725999>he unironically thinks MMD TDA Garbage is the bestneck yourself immediately
>>702924My God, they're migrating from Second Life
>>727354Does anyone still use Second Life?
>>714177How is that going to work exactly? With so many people using modded clients that can just copy, and even download the Unity package from the people who spend money on the actual avatars?
I assume that rigify's armatures work with unity and I know expressions/lipsync need to be visemes but do I have to worry about all the facial bones? is there a way to export the model without them or do I have to make a copy and delete them myself?
>>727354What makes you say that?
>VRchat is crawling with bootleg Projekt Melody avatars rntopkek
Is there a listing of what kind of scripts are allowed on maps and avatars? I've been watching videos about drivers and corrective bones in blender and want to do something like that in Unity.
>>728520A lot of people do, 40k+ every day
Alot has happened since I last messed with this thread. Shit rily do take forever to die in this board.
>>730310Nothing about this picture makes any sense
>>730310Do you deliberately ignore artist like evilbanana and thirteeenth? I honestly don't understand what's your excuse for that quality.
>>702874racism has no place here, leave biggot
>>731051Canadians and Swedes have no place here, leave
I made this thing as an animated icon for some VRChat-oriented Discord server, plz r8
So how's the new sdk?
>>730015SL has a giant variety it seems in what people will buy...what sort of polygon count should you aim for if youre selling simple models on marketplace? Even if you shoot for stylized and cartoony idk what people expect.
>>731768They want trendy shit so it's easy to make stuff.
>>731776does SL have a polygon limit or any general guidelines to follow at least? I mostly will be making stuff I would want, but id like it to have some appeal to others as well
>>731780Just start with you and don't be a nigger who imports raw daz3d assets at 2mil tris and you'll be fine
>>731745I initially almost thought that and the new update was an April Fools' Joke at first.
>>731792Same. The Udon stuff looks pretty neat but I'm trying to figure out if shadergraph works with vrchat shaders.
>>731798>set up the pipeline stuff for shadergraph to work>but all the VRC shaders show up as pinkI hope there's a guide for this stuff.
>>708529>>708522>>708612>>708617>>708658This is trash.1. polycount is all over the place.2. most of the shit looks like someone just threw a subsurf-modifier on it.3. proportions are all over the place.4. I don't even want to know what the uv maps look like (post them faggot)5. the guy on your discord who said that shit about ~100k polygons is full of shit and you should tell him to kill himself.6. kill yourself.
>>732134STFU and pay my pension, zoomer
Has anybody found a copy of Shaderforge that works with Unity 2018.4.20f1? All the versions I find just bug out my projects and won't work.
>>708600consider the following: furries are hyped up sex freaks who want to see their sex objects with supernormal stimuli in full swing. These are cartoonishly exaggerated models to activate primitive dick brains, not make an artistic statement. Just think of /d/ and realize that sex deviants don't want "normal" shit. t. /3//d/eviant
>>715358How easy exactly, I'm still at the portfolio building stage and was looking at doing avatar commissions as a way to make some money off of it.
>>730310Do you have any socials where you post your art and/or models?
>>732643@Snerp7It ain't a lot but you can fink the rest of my socials there.
>>719825you are like a little babywatch this
>>732233Incredibly easy. My reccomendation is to make a few models and put your gamer name on a badge somewhere on the body so when people see your work they'll know who to contact if they want commissioned stuff. This is already being done and while the badge can be removed, most vrchatters won't know how to remove it and plenty want custom avatars. Also this way you personally don't have to worry about it getting stolen
Is there an easy to make MMD videos small enough to fit in /wsg/'s filesize limit (<6mb)? My converter cut half of the first video I made to stay under the limit.>>>/wsg/3376578
Can anyone share this model?
>>733021thanks anon <3
Kill yourself fag.
And does anyone have: 3Dモデル+PMXデータ 【マシュ・キリエライトVer2.0】
>>732899Your converter cut off half the fucking video.
The new stuff with Avatars 3.0 sounds very promising. Less headaches with eye rigging and visemes
>Make small / big avater>When sitting, they either sink into the chair or hover above it.Are there ways around this? I tried an override animation but I'm not sure if I'm using the right bones for it.
>>702924>Why even bother trying to break into this market anyway?Thats why its better move to look for the VTuber/vstreamer market than for VRchatters. At least they're constantly commissioning new outfits for their avatar
>>736500I'm one of the people who gets paid to make outfits across virtual worlds. Shit is TOO easy.
>>731051Pretending to be a retarded person on 4chins is always fun
