Any decent 3D smut tutorials?

Anything from remodeling a sfw character into a nsfw version to animating stuff. Any program goes (but preferably blender). I found a lot of stuff online but it was all mediocre and there were no actual video tutorials (except for SFM lol), only text. And by the looks of the "best" animations it seems that there are barely any decent artists working in this area. Is it really so unpopular?

It's not "unpopular", there's just about zero reasons for smut authors that you'd consider legitimately good to willingly give up their special tricks that make a scene or an animation pop out. That kinda developed workflow knowledge distilled into a loop brings in patreons by the hundreds, it wouldn't make sense to give it up, even for cash money.

This isn't artstation or whatever, there's no companies above-board watching you so you don't have to pretend you're a good boy by putting up guides and being courteous or professional. Just put out your Overwatch loops of Futa mercy pumping D'VA, make your bank and get out. Fuck other people that want to know how you do it, they might siphon money away from you.
>>
>>701269

I think they use daz or other rigged models for the naked part then just stick a game head on it. For the animating they just copy some existing porn scene and distil it down into a few movements.
>>
Do an smut loop. You can cut together a long video from a run. Render the same scene from different angles and you've got a lot of movie time from a short animation.

The thing is that you can't make money doing NSFW tutorials because can't monetize them on YouTube. This means your totally reliant on something like patreon or gumroad but even then, it's gonna be hard making a name for yourself doing tutorials if YouTube is not helping you spread your stuff.
That's the first reason I think there's not many tutorials on this subject.

>>
>>701415
A good 3D generalist could do porn and doesn't need tutorials. If you need tutorials, you are not good enough to do quality porn and earn money with it. Simple as that. If you can't adapt general common knowledge and use it to solve the problems you are facing when doing porn you simply lack the essentials and are never gonna make it.

Then change your attitude. In order to do good CG porn you have to become a decent 3D generalist. That should be your aim/goal.
If you tell people that instead of asking for smut tuts the chance that somebody helps you increases exponentially. Also the amount of topics you have to cover is so vast, you can start anywhere. You need to develop an eye for anatomy, form, movement, colors, composition, framing and editing. Don't leave out the fundamentals, they are more important than you believe.
You need to have a proper understanding of rigging and animation. You can cheat with the modelling/sculpting and a little bit with animation, but basically you have to become the master of the complete animation pipeline. That's no easy feat, so you should prepare for a long journey that might take years of your lifetime.
That is if you aim for quality...and if you do, drop Blender and learn Maya for animation and rigging instead.
For modelling and the rest you can use whatever, but if you're doing animation everything BUT Maya will make your life more miserable. Maya will too, but less so than everything else.
That is if you aim for quality, if you don't, do whatever you'll like...
>>
>>701984

Isn't Blender 2.8 supposedly as good as Maya? I even heard that it is easier to learn too. Even if Maya is better it is 1,545$/year so it is just a stupid idea to dive into it without any prior animating experience so i will stick with Blender for now. To be fair the best overwatch smut videos were made in Blender, tho i can notice the difference between Maya and Blender videos, something about Maya makes them more realistic i should say? Maybe it is lightning
>>
>>702001
>>702076
>Isn't Blender 2.8 supposedly as good as Maya?
Blender and Maya are both decent generalist programs, but Maya's specialty is character/creature rigging and animation. Blender has no real specialty, but its pretty fast for modelling due to its shortcut heavy nature.
That means in the low to medium quality and complexity level its irrelevant which tool you use, when it comes to high end/high complexity, at a certain point Maya leaves Blender behind.
Now with porn you could easily move over the threshold that is separating medium quality/complexity and high quality/complexity, that is depended on what goal you aim for.
If you watch this video >>701345 you see the guy doing some stuff which i know for sure are incredibly difficult (if not simply impossible) to archive with Blender and that is the volume preservation of the physical simulated tits (or ass) for example.
That means physical interaction like a hand grabbing the ass or the tits and deforming the soft flesh underneath the hand physical correctly is nearly impossible to do in Blender or needs some black magic level of scripting and rigging i know for sure normal people will never be able to archive.
The whole rig he builds is dependent on some rigging technologies that are simply not there in Blender.
Complex interactions of simulated systems can also become quite problematic with blender.
Then there is speed an stability (of the rigs). Again Maya leaves every other program behind.
As an generalist 3D tool, Maya is ok, but if you look at it as an specialized tool for rigging and animation you realize why it's the King (or Queen).
Blender-fanboys will fight this with tooth and nails and will try to downplay or deny that there is a difference in power between and Blender and Maya, but if you are not operating on that high quality/complexity level, you don't perceive the differences. Basically a form of Dunning Krueger cognitive dissonance, they can't know what they can't see.

To be honest i am not a good animator/rigger. I have enough knowledge but i lack experience from actually doing it.
I've build a couple of custom rigs and am currently starting to learn animating human characters. But this is not my focus more like an hobby i do on the side and a long-term goal.
I am actually using Blender for most of my (hardsurface) modelling and i use Maya for the rest (lighting, shading, rendering).
I am working on this bot currently.
>>
>>702116
Wait, you can do that? Create a model on Blender, then export it to Maya and do the rigging? No complications?
>>
>>702119
Not him but that's of course possible, you export as OBJ or FBX (it's simple geo information after all), and then do the rigging in Maya. Similar to animating in Maya, sending it over to Houdini for CFX, then back for lighting, etc.
>>
>>701269
You don't need lewd tutorials to make lewd stuff. You just need fundamentals.

Holy fuck Blendlets are this clueless about how to use other software?

Protip: professional cg is moving toward using more individual, increasingly differentiated software (Zbrush -> Mari -> Maya -> Houdini -> Katana -> Fusion) and not single packages
>>

I literally started last week. So no, I am not versed in file compatibility.
>>
File: h_gwombgfRg.jpg (40 KB, 300x250)

>>702413
Now explain why should i use 5 programs instead of 1
>>
>>702465
Specialized programs will always outperform generalist ones in terms of speed, quality and ability.
Take Blender for example - it can do sculpting, modelling, animation, rendering, compositing and video editing.
But Blender doesn't excel in any of these disciplines.
Zbrush is better for sculpting, Modo/Max better at modelling, Mari/Substance Painter better for surfacing, Maya better for animation, Houdini better for VFX, Katana better for rendering, Nuke/Fusion better for compositing, Avid/Resolve/Premiere better for video editing.
Does this mean that you need all of them - no, but as i explained earlier - if you push into high detail and high complexity territory, it becomes way more efficient to use specialized tools instead of one generalist one, maybe even impossible to do with only one program.
The best strategy to outperform the competition or just get the project done in the shortest time possible is to know which program excels at a certain discipline and use it to your advantage.
A team of specialists using a plethora of tools will always outperform a team of generalist or specialists using only one program.
An artist knowing how to do stuff with many tools will always have an advantage over somebody using only one program.
>>
>>702479
Whats so special about rendering in Katana? Does it work if i export a scene from Maya and render it in Katana?
>>
>>702480
It's extremely powerful when it comes to giant scenes with hundreds/thousands of lights, can handle billions of polygons while using less RAM due to its data management structure and it is node based - meaning you can control everything procedurally and by scripting.
Usually you build your scene in Max or Maya and then you do the shading, lighting and rendering in Katana.
It is a niche tool and it only makes sense for studios or small teams who have to deal with lots of data.
I wouldn't recommend it for single artists - its pretty complex and in most cases not needed. I also prefer Clarisse iFX which basically does the same thing and is easier to learn and to handle.
>>
>>702482
Additionally, i want to build a high end pc that i could use for modeling and rendering, what should i look for? How much ram and what cpu should i need for that
>>
>>702483
The more the better: cores, MHz and RAM.
You need to find out if you can go with GPU rendering or not.
With GPU rendering the VRAM is the bottleneck. If your scenes get to big and they don't match into the VRAM the rendering slows down and at a certain point CPU rendering is more effective. GPU's with 12-24GB RAM for example are much more expensive than a threadripper CPU so it becomes a financial question too.
I can't tell you exactly what you need, you need to research this for yourself and then maybe ask /g for specific hardware recommendations.
I personally would go for an Ryzen or Threadripper, fuck Intel and their price politics.
>>

So as a hobbyist piece of shit like myself I should stick with Maya/Blender then?

You are not a lazy fag, aren't you?
Just look up DonutGuru's introduction to Cycles, you don't need to learn much more of Blender in order to make smut.
You can use Cycles for statics and Eevee for animations, they use the same materials.
Here are pointers for Eevee shadows: https://blenderartists.org/t/light-leak-at-edges-inside-room-and-irradiance-volume-issues/1135864/40
I would also recommend to get into DAZ just so you can export their assets into Blender.
Also install smd plugin and Crowbar, so you can import SFM models too.

get yourself some models first :

go to smutbase and skip all the tutorials and go and download some stuff to tinker around with
the human base meshes there are rally decent, missing face shape keys and materials tho but i learned a great bit filling in what was missing

or go to xnalara, get the blender addon for importing that shit and you can get yourself some specific shit there

or if you got koikatu you can get some mods and addons to make your waifus also work in blender

Looking at all these pre-rendered works I cannot help but bring myself to a conclusion that it's not what I want. it's a pain in the ass because for anything more than a static loop

I am going to make a few soft body some tomorrow and will post them. See if you can explain to me exactly what it is doing so I can understand better
>>
>>709390
Hold up lad, does Blender really not have something as fundamental as that?
>>
>>709487
there is no volume preservation and soft body sims tend to get janky and unstable. Tons of quality of life rigging tools are completely missing in Blender and managing complex rigs with different (physic) systems is a nightmare.
>>
>>709502
>no volume preservation
pardon me what the fuck? how is this even possible? at this point blender already should be able to set up dq and helper geo which is what I usually use for preservation in maya
>>
>>709513
You underestimate what Blender is not capable of.

While I can't speak to what the volume preservation tools are in Maya firsthand, I will say that for simulated soft body objects in blender, at this point in time (ver. 2.8), calculations are done as if each connecting edge between a vertex is a spring. This means that if your mesh is hollow, it won't factor in that pocket of space as having mass by default. What you are able to do is add a single vertex with some connecting edges internally, like a scaffold of sorts and it will preserve the volume just fine.

I would hazard a guess that Maya is dong similar calculations under the hood when it is preserving a soft body volume.

The icosphere on the left has default soft body settings, it collapses. The other spheres were duplicated from the first one and have an addition vertex added in the way shown in the webm. (select all -> extrude only vertices -> merge at center )

The second sphere from the left, has only the additional vertex and the Push/Pull spring stiffness increased by .1.

The other spheres have that additional single vertex, push/pull increased to .7 and damping set to 38-40 or so to get less rippling throughout the thing. The flattened face of the three spheres on the right is from an invisible wall that is there to keep them in place.

I saw the technique by some Japanese youtuber a while ago, in which a second smaller sphere was used as well as the center vertex, but for what I've had to use soft bodies for I've never needed that much extra complexity.

Can't the same thing be done by adjusting the 'bending' value in the soft body?
Forgive me if I am missing something here, I am new to 3D

It's similar (from the documentation "Bending:
This option creates virtual connections between a vertex and the vertices connected to its neighbors.") in this way, you are adding many more virtual springs across the surface, which can make the computations for the sim take much longer but get the desired result as you have shown. The internal scaffold approach adds springs going through the center out to each vertex to push it back towards it's original point when crushed or stretched, I find that it's also very quick to simulate. I'm sure there are good use cases for both approaches.
>>
>>709617
Thanks man, I actually just realized that bending has limitations when dealing with higher poly meshes. The higher the poly count goes the more bending breaks down. Seems like everything breaks down the higher the poly count goes

Stone age compared to what you can do in Maya and its plugins. Prime titty physics.
>>
>>709780
Ever hear the expression "show, don't tell".
If the results are so much more superior than you should make something that demonstrates such.
>>
>>709776
Somebody has issues.

>>709789
I don't think I have seen anyone truly manage to pull actual breasts physics in any software. It's like a holy grail nobody has tried to find.

This seems ok for a single man effort, but beside the hair there is something that bothers me and I cannot quite place what it is.

"Show, don't tell" applies to writing, acting and movie making, if you demand it from an opponent in an argument it becomes a fallacy. Not everybody is a 5 star cook, but everybody can tell if something tastes bad.

>>709932
Bullshit. Just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
I know of one guy who had a ~ 90 min video on his YT channel explaining every single step on how to build such a rig in Maya.
The end result was 100% realistic, but it has been pulled from YT because of puritans.
If you are a rigger it is not even especially complicated, you just need the right tools.
>>
>>709976
Well shit. I guess I will just have to take your word for it. Maybe he was kind enough to upload it to pornhub or something.

This guy >>709194 asked if its possible in Blender.
If you think it is, why don't YOU prove it.
This >>709611 is an ugly hack which does not give good results.
I tried it, it doesn't work. Tits collapse into itself when colliding - quite horrific to observe.
This guy >>709780 is completely right, it is stone age compared to Maya.
Maya supports volume preservation with different media (air, water), Blender does not. That's a fact.

Demanding that he should make something that demonstrates such is besides the point. He does not have to demonstrate an established fact, when this >>709194 exist and was done in Maya.
>>
>>710053
Suppose it is just plain impossible on blender then?
>>
>>710059
It's also impossible to archive with Cinema 4d, Lightwave and Modo, so Blender is in good company.
>>

Wheels look like shit and the seat is fucking weird.

The solution is to model robot smut.
>>
>>710031
Literally why I've decided to start doing porn lmao. There are basically no GOOD artists not making money, and quite a bit of bad ones making money too.
>>
>>709989
ah, I know the dude actually, his code is really interesting to dissect
>>
>>710061
No it isn't. If the artist is shit, no tool in the world will change that.
>>
>>710207
I agree, but we are talking about the ability of the tools, not the ability of the artist. The reverse is also true. Doesn't matter if you are the greatest artist, if the tool doesn't give you the ability to do something you can't do it.
The end result is always the combination of the abilities of the tool and the abilities of the artist.

Breasts physics.

One point to consider is that Blender seems to be the "industry standard" for half amateur 3D smut creation. So if you get models for free or buy them they will most likely be optimized for Blender. If there are productive forums or Discords they will most likely also be about Blender. Just look at how much cash people made with fucking SFM and how many models you can get for that (and of course there are tutorials for porting from sfm to blender).
Just ask yourself what you want to do. Wanna make some money or pursue the perfect 3D smut?

>>710591
isn't very convincing
it really occurs to me, maybe that's because most of these creators never handled a real breast in their life...?
>>
>>710748
they could still get reference material. its probably just aimed at the weeb market, so those physics are expected
>>
>>710739
>industry standard for (half) amateur creations.
that is totally not a contradiction.
>Just ask yourself what you want to do. Wanna make some money or pursue the perfect 3D smut?
Thanks for demonstrating the mindset of people who never achieve anything and why 99% of 3D smut sucks.
And that is also not how that business works. If you actually want to earn money you work has to stand out - either because of the quality or by catering to weird fetishes.
Judged by the outcome, Blender is not an indicator for quality, quite the opposite. All good 3D smut animations i have seen where rigged and animated in Maya and rendered with Redshift. (All 3 of them).
>>
>>712474
>All 3 of them
and they are?
>>
>>712474
Unless youre a kid or unemployed spending hundreds of hours on stuff you cant even show your friends without getting paid is pretty hard to justify. Do you propose someone just masters everything to then sit down and start producing quality pornography that wont offend you? How would one master 3D smut creation without producing 3D smut?
I also wrote "industry standard" for a reason you double nigger.
