Hi guys, i'm new in this 3d design thing and i saw that octane render is an awesome software for rendering, but as an argentinian i'm poor as fuck to buy that. I was wondering if is there by any change a place where i can download it for free, im using cinema 4d.

fuck it this thread might as well be good for something, when using software from there that needs RLM servers. is it a generic fixed server that will work with any .lic file or are there instances of certain pieces of software requiring there own fixed RLM server in order to work.

Only with Blender and Unity. I don't think they said anything about limiting it by software at the beginning, but they did it regardless. Trademark OTOY.

i can't find anything about a free version
one the site there is only a demo version with following limits :
The demo version has the following limitations:

Render resolution output is locked to 1000×600 pixels
Project and render output cannot be saved
Online LiveDB material database functionality is not included
Render output contains water marks (Octane logo and stripes)
No network rendering

that's not a fully functional version but severly limited

generic fixed server which can load all kinds of .lic files for all kinds of software.
I had a cracked Octane for C4d once and i think it was a different kind of crack, not RLM server based.

Octane v3 crack on cgpeers
Octane v4 mothly fee is 20$

These are your only options. If you are newbie, v3 is perfectly fine for anything

What is the best renderer.
Arnold seems to have a lot of issues and the gpu part is still in beta and kinda fucking sucks.
