Marvelous complained my mesh wasn't in T pose, but didn't care and now my shirt doesn't even recognize the mesh.

Just T-shirt and Pants?

If you are just learning I recommend a proper base mesh.But, if you want a "production" piece, just duplicate from your base mesh.
