a job isn't meant to keep you happy. it's meant to keep you alive you idiot. you have hobbies to make you happy.

Yeah man 3d modellers are the chillest people. The pay is shitty but theyre all a bunch of stoners listening to flying lotus and making tiny booleans no one will ever see on the same robot model for weeks.

As long as you're woke, you'll always have a job.
If you didn't notice SJWs don't care about good work.

I have seen some shitters on artstation who work for big companies but somehow it only makes me sadder.
>>
>>697470
Please share more. I've also seen some profiles like that who work for big AAA studios.
>>
>>697471
How do they even get jobs ? Is a good network all that's needed to get a job in a game industry ?
>>
>>697472
Meritocracy is white supremacy. You will be hired by AAA studios for your political leanings and for your hierarchical level on the oppression pyramid.
To be hired as a white man, you have to be full on soiboi, mouth agape with a Bernie t-shirt.

This game and gif is a great reminder of what the industry standards are, and who are the "high horses" cunts on /3/ that shit on Blender.

It shows the fucked up standard of EA, but nothing in relation to tools.
>>701018
There is nothing to defend.
ME:A was a project management failure.

I'm a member of a Facebook creative group which frequently talks about business and hiring in CG. There's this one guy (I'll call him Joe) who is a total jackass, but he's a very charismatic jackass, so he managed to land a senior position with one of the biggest (and worst) game companies. Joe constantly talks down to people who ask him questions about the company's hiring process on the pretense that they "should already know" how it works. Even questions which nobody on the outside of that company would know the answer to.

The worst I saw was the time Joe declined a job offer for the dumbest reason imaginable (and he actually took pride in this when he posted it on Facebook). Joe said the guy was fully qualified and exactly what they were looking for, but the applicant came to the interview dressed in a business suit. Joe said he clearly didn't understand the company culture and shouldn't have dressed like that, so he didn't give him the job.

Yeah some people in the industry get all high and mighty about the position they're in like they're part of some cult. I've definitely met some real assholes who brown nose people above and look down on people below

Yeah, I already knew how easy it is for women.
