I told some fag on agdg that zbrush remesher auto retopo tools are good enough and you should set like a 3-5k target per model and that's ok.He told me I was a retard and that I need to do manual retopo. Why?
it depends on if you're doing AAA work at a studio for a 100 foot wide movie screen or if you're doing work on a background prop that will be normal mapped for your unity game. Which is it, anonymous?
>>697077a mid tier character for some faggot unity game for phones.why would you use zbrush for props?
>>697078>why would you use zbrush for props?why wouldn't you?
>>697080dunno, they seem like they would take 5 seconds using blender traditional modelling. It would take more effort doing a char on zbrush than blender.
>>697082blender modelling tools are faster than maya, since they use the keyboard.
>>697083maya uses the keyboard as well, idiot
>>697084blender is faster.
>>697083>brings up maya out of nowhere (for modelling no less)>thinks there is some mystical force preventing programs other than blender from using keyboard shortcuts
>>697086>>697084Well, OP did come here because they told him he was retard. Guess they were right.>>697081You never modelled a decent prop. And to answer your question, just because I feel generous, if your character is for a faggot mobile game, yes you need manual retopo. The higher your polygon budget, the crappier and more wasteful topology you can get away with.
>>697086Not that guy, but that "mystical force" is called being locked in a mode once you enter it, and doing at least 1-3 clicks extra for EACH and every basic action. Oh, and basic functionality is buried deep within long scrolling menus, or in nested circle menu webs.Maybe actually try Blender some day? You might learn something.
>>697095not sure what program you are referring to (zbrush, maya, max) but I have not experienced what you are talking about. when I press a hotkey to do a thing, it does the thing...you can even write scripts in all of the aforementioned programs to do multiple things at once with one hotkey...its pretty standard stuff
>>697096I'm referring to Maya, which was the topic of the conversation? If you don't understand what I meant then you clearly have never used Blender in your life.
>>697097blender seems pretty much on par with maya in terms of modelling IMO. I greatly prefer max either way
>>697098>blender seems pretty much on par with maya in terms of modelling IMOAbsolutely not. Again, it's obvious you just haven't used it. Why do you go around shitposting and falseflagging against Blender all day, without even having tried it?What the fuck is wrong with /3/
>>697099well excuuuse me for having the wrong opinion anon. I thought this thread was about zbrush anyway
>>697102>opinionYou can't form an opinion about something you haven't tried. You're just treating 3D software as a sports team.
Blender is shit but repoflow 2 is superior to every other method.
