Alright /3/ What the fuck is the deal. I'm fresh off of Source Filmmaker and now trying to begin animating in Blender and the rendering times are JUST.


How the fuck are you supposed to get any work done? Is my Recommended specs a missle launch guidance simulator? This is fucking embarrassing. I rendered the same animation in SFM in literally 20 minutes.

Lower the bounces, lower the samples, use eevee, bake textures, you know basic shit

You are using Eevee, right? Cycles is very slow (it's an offline pathtracer, similar to those used for feature films and such).

If you're coming from SFM, even the Eevee render engine from Blender would still be an upgrade or at least not worse.
So if you come from there, your stuff most likely does not need the most accurate lighting physics so go with Eevee which renders blazing fast but NEEDS a good setup, look it up.
