what do you guys think about 3d coat?ive read its an alternative to zbrush.its also compatible with linux which is good because i dont like windows.

It's good for doing hand painted style textures (other then the lack of proper masks), and the customizable navigation is awesome...But the UI is a complete mess. Each room tab is treated like separate app (instead of just a button layout) making switching between them a nightmare, and the fact that all the data is split up among tons of unique winds instead of a universal outliner makes dealing with many things a complete pita.
I use it only for retopo, apart from that go Zbrush

3DCoat has a lot of useful features but its not an alternative to zbrush. zbrush has no viable alternatives for sculpting, and not just because it can handle a lot of polygons.

Did he ever actually change the EULA of the software agreement to not include the model policing and just have the statement on his website or is it actually still in there?
