Blender 2.8's UI is for retarted adults and children who haven't learned how to count. 2.79b was and always will be a GOD TEIR program because of it's design and workflow. Fuck anyone who thinks differently, you can't change my mind.

Unironically yes, but the way you presented your opinion makes you look like a fucking mongoloid.
Also, 2.8 is getting much better sculpting tools and Eevee is nice for previewing stuff.
>>
>>695916
Finally someone speaks the truth. 2.79 has superior plugin support as well. Its the patrician choice.
>>
>>695916
I tried 2.8 a bit... Not a fan of the permanent anti-aliasing which is a RAM hog.
>>
>>695929
Switch to Maya, you can toggle AA on and off.
>>
>>695938
I'll stick with 2.78.
>>
>>695941
Thank you.
>>
Takes some time to actually learn 2.8 and you'll see that the changes make your workflow faster.
>>
You just need to learn it. I could never go back to 2.79, it feels so unpolished and bear bones. Why the fuck am i posting on fucking 4chan. To some shitty bait no less. No one cares, Kill yourself
>>
>>695948
Tried 2.8. My god it feels like i was given a stupid water pistol instead 9mm glock. How do you work with that nonsense?
>>
>>695952
Are you okay?
>>
ITT: I want muh speshial interface back!
>>
>>695948
>Takes some time to actually learn 2.8 and you'll see that the changes make your workflow faster.
Spoken like a true noob.
>mouse button swap makes selection less accurate
>horrible wheel menus make basic operations slower
>loads of hotkeys just gone for no reason
>search removed from spacebar, in favour of play/pause
>gizmos, gizmos everywhere
I mean, sure, you can return to the 2.7 control scheme and replace hotkeys for all the shitty circle menus, and make it almost as fast as 2.7 again, but to claim that it has got a faster workflow than 2.7 is just completely and utterly retarded.
>>
But it's not even that different.
All they did is they moved menus to the top and nuked 'T'oolshelf.
Is going to a different window and separate tab each time you want to configure a brush considered "better interface"?
>>
>>695916

Somewhat above the casual use of blender reporting in.

Only thing that I can complain about so far is the switch between wireframe/solid/lookdev/render. Is there any keybinds for this? I noticed the number under them but dont have numpad...
>>
>>695916
>tfw too autistic to operate something remotely normal
>>
>>695916
personally for my workflow 2.8 has nothing to offer, beside the UI redesign for maya retards, so I don't even bother with it
>>
>>695929
You can toggle it off you retard.
>>
>>695916
It must be nice to have nothing else going on in your life than to bitch about free software.
>>
>>696037
You do know you can key-bind your own shortcuts right?
>>
>>696037
Click "Z" and see what happens.
>>
>>696143

Blendlets calling superior software users retards. Amazing.
>>
>>695916

It's design and workflow is the reason why nobody wanted to use it besides donut modelers. Be glad the new UI is a bit less retarded, I know it makes you feel less special but at least 1 or 2 studios around the world might use it.
>>
>>696245
The software isn’t dumb, the attitude of its user base on this board is full of alienating people. who don’t want to admit that making money is about skill not the price of the tools.

Blender is doing you guys a favor, by bringing more noobies to the 3d art scene it opens up the market. Meaning these expensive programs will get cheaper the more people invest in their art/dreams. Visual art software has a small customer base but it’s growing now.

>Blender is doing you guys a favor, by bringing more noobies to the 3d art scene it opens up the market

THE REASON WHY THIS INDUSTRY IS SO FUCKING CANCEROUS IS BECAUSE THERE'S TOO MANY BODIES ALREADY
>>
>>696250
Are you retarded?

Just play with this.

Not sure why people are upset.

The Q menu(Favorites) is Really fucking good, and it removes a lot of remembering Shortcuts.
>>
Lmao still using blender in 2019. Plebians. .
>>
>>696288
What do you suggest we use instead? Maya? Bitch, please. Have you seen the latest updates? You probably don't bother with them anymore and just install the latest version like an Autocuck zombie.
>>
>>696293
why in the fuck would you use maya over max for modelling
>>
I started with Blender back in 2014 so I'll stick with the pre-2.8 layout, but use whatever works best for you.
>>
I mean most of Blender is just working with shortcuts and space + search anyways so who really cares about the layout that much. Unless they've changed the shortcut system for some weird reason...
>>
>>696293

Max, use MAX, you fucking moron.
>>
>>696246
>It's design and workflow is the reason why nobody wanted to use it besides donut modelers. Be glad the new UI is a bit less retarded
Red pill me on this.
t. pleb who only used blender from start.
>>
>>695957
What are you even all about?
>>
>>696007
>spacebar
Get a load of this fag only retards use search.
Remember when they changed spacebar from add object to some retarded search to get the retarded kids into this software.

SPACE must be add object, like god intended! Who the fuck needs search?
>>
>>696405
I use it for a few functions.
Bridge edge loops
Blend from shapes
Grid fill
Smooth Shade
Merge by distance

Just to name a few.

Shift+Space is the Play function

Shift+A is my add new object.
>>
>>696411
>Smooth Shade
Right click for that
>Bridge edge loops
Simple press F
>>
>>696411
You have at least 3 of those functions (the ones that I know, that is) in a right click menu. Bridge, merge by distance and smooth/flat shade is there.

Otherwise you can add them to favorites (Q).

Or just change whatever you want in preferences.
>>
>>696412
I have F2 Add on, so it over rides that and just simply fills it.
>>696413
Right click select is my choice of use. So I dont have that menu.

Q(favorites) I can indeed add them, but I dont want to clutter it.
>>
>>696416
>Right click select
was always stupid. Your index finder is better then the middle one. Glad they fixed this autism.
>>
>>696416
Is it not possible to make that menu activate on left click then? I haven't tried it but it would be dumb if you just can't use it if you switch from left to right click select.
>>
>>696424
There is a reason why all applications have a right click menu.

Why are you obsessed with right to select?
>>
>>696424
I just searched for "menu" in keymap settings and if you change all "right click" to "left click" that should probably work, but I don't want to mess my shit up now.

>>696425
I'm not that guy, I'm responding to him.
>>
>>696417
I tried swapping to left click select, it was just annoying in some area.

Mostly just trying to select that object, and trying to work in that without accidentally selecting another object,

For example posing, I would use gizmos just fine tune something, but I'd select the bones that were slightly close to it.

Or trying to weight paint in pose mode, and selecting the other bones when doing quick strokes to blur.

and since I worked with a drawing tablet, accidentally selecting stuff was just awfully annoying.
>>
>a thread died for this
>>
>>696175
How?
>>
>>696467
In preference
'Underviewport', under the Quality. You can play with settings to adjust it how you want it.
>>
The thing I hate in 2.8, and I cannot seem to turn off/Change. Is turning on and off Perspective mode. It keeps changing, after I move my camera after going to side view. Its very annoying.
>>
>>696245
>superior software for NOT retards
>half the screen covered in huge icons telling GRUG THE MODELER where to click, so he can work safely and without accidents
>>
>>696037
Havent used 2.8 much but there should be an option to emulate KP with number row. If 2.8 makes more use of number row you can just keybind as other anons said. Regret getting a 10KL meme mechanical keyboard now, can't even program a function layer on it
>>
>>696489
Preferences - Navigation - Auto-Perspective
>>
>>696640
>t. Never used Maya but I'm going to say things anyway
>>
>>696656
Same can be said about you
>>
>>696432
good.
