The Ik rigs.

Setting up a Ik rig is jarring, and using auto IK rigging requires to scrap what you already have. So meaning you need to learn good weighting. And the only Ik rigs for bledner is overwatch stuff.

Everyone also sets their IK rigs differently. So you have to learn the gimmicks of someone else Ik rigs.


SFM, for most is just a simple plug and play, a simple animators tool for hobbies who just want to animation things in a non time consuming way.

Blender is only good for sculpting. If you want to do any semblance of animation at all, even Cinema 4D would be a better choice. Maya and Source Filmmaker is where it's at.

After doing some SFM stuff I downloaded blender, downloaded some files from smutbase, and spend over an hour trying to figure shit out before I got pissed off. THEN I spent over an hour watching videos, google, discord, etc. and I STILL can't find one fucking NSFW video that just shows me how to take any model (like D.Va, Lara, 2B, etc.), upload any map (anything at this point, fuck it), and make an animation.

So fuck it. I'm not even in a fapping mood anymore. I'm going to go be productive and work out or something.

You've fallen into the trap of 'just because you know how to do it means it's easy for anyone to do'. Someone learning to make a material with just a single Shader and Basetexture is not easy because they lack context. Blender is easy but they don't know anything about it or how to use it, sure they could take the time to learn for it's niche uses (even though most only use it for porting models) but why do that when it's easier to just open a sandbox and place stuff with a physgun?

Most using the Source engine became artists by total accident just fiddling in their spare time.

Reminder that their goal is to make a thing. not make the best looking thing
