Andrew's tutorials suck, donut and coffee cup isn't something beginner should start with, first off organic materials are easy even for veterans, so you will end up with plastic donut that will probably kill your enthusiasm while barely learning anything.
I have watched this well tutorial which is far better: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OlnkGCdtGEw&t

it's a good tutorial, but it's not low poly at all

I made this (´・ω・`)

I never tried the donut meme but his tutorials are good from what I've seen so far. I might even say they're great and the best I've seen.

>>693117
Maybe I'll try this some time too. Its been ages since I did Blender/3d because my path of autism lead me to programming instead.
>>
>>692948
It's just a way to get used to the UI and basic editing operations, autismo, nobody cares about the donut.
>>
>>693514
It's not even good for learning the UI. Guru isn't a good teacher.
>>
>>693482
Comfy.

I didn't have nearly as much trouble with it as I did with the donut, thanks to 2.8. No more fumbling around looking for short-keys.

What a shame, a new "breed" of "artists" that will now slowly click their way through instead of speedily using hotkeys.

Literally every artist regardless of software should be using hotkeys.

My fucking first-time tutorial doesn't have a "Part 2" so I guess I'll figure out Materials another way. This shit's pretty fun so far.
>>692948
I'm gonna do this one next. I'm going to do tutorials until I have a good familiarity with the software and a general understanding of basic 3D modeling concepts. I'm very excited to be getting into this.

Hammer guy, first time using Blender and I'm using the version just before 2.8. Should I cut that shit out and just use 2.8? I looked at both and 2.8 seemed less intuitive. Maybe I'll do the next tutorial in 2.8 and see how I feel.
>>
>>693627
how does 2.8 seem less intuitive? its the easiest to use version of blender
>>
>>693117
This is so cute.
>>
>>693626
Why sent you on 2.8 dude jeez
>>
>>693627
>Less intuitive
Wtf?
It's better in literally every aspect
The only issue with 2.8 if you can even call it an issue is that oldblendlets have to relearn some keys, but there's even a classic hotkey setting thing in the preferances so its a non issue
>>
>>693686
i got all sorts of turned around with 2.8, having used blender since 2.49. i just gotta break out of the habits and relearn again. it will definitely be worth it.
