It seems like a lot of money, but you're really paying for full rights to the product. Nobody else owns or controls the product but you, not even the artist. The reason why booth models for VRChat are only 50-60$ USD converted into yen, is because they are selling them to the public and thus they will get bootlegged anyway. That kind of stuff is more for the publicity than to earn a decent living.
