Hello I am very new to blender and I have been trying to texture this object for a long time but I can't figure out how to do it properly. any suggestion ?
>>683406Holy shit you fucking idiot. Can you check the catalog? Theres two fucking threads for you to post in. You killed a thread for this fucking stupid "i just need one post response" thread. Stop doing 3d. Just stop.
Everytime I come on this board there's always this kind of thread.
>>683406You didn't say what you want to do exactly. Doesn't look like it has proper uv's so start there. But ya as others have said try and post in the blender thread.
>>683406>>683406Oh fuck off michael
>>683426Sara shut up I'm tryin to learn 3d
>>683408Ok here's my 2 cents:I used to get mad as fuck too about one-question threads and people who don't bother to look at the catalog before dumping their stuff on the board. But then I realized that it's pointless to get mad over this on /3/, the board is just too slow, any threads that are at the bottom have run their course and people just aren't interested in them anymore (yes, even the rare good ones). The questions thread is actually godawful, most questions go unanswered which is the antithesis of what a questions thread should strive to solve. Posting a thread like this, okay, it's a bit like taking a shit on the street, but once one or two guys like you - no offense - finish with the customary "A thread died for this?!" rites, people do at least take an interest and end up tackling the question, if not solving it outright sometimes. The solution: get rid of the questions thread and let people post whatever they want in their own threads. Possibly on any other creative board this would be madness, but again, it's /3/ so it works out. If the thread is bad by your standards, you just filter it out. Most people already filter most of the board out and keep only the WIP and occasional generals up.This goes against the board culture, but frankly there is such a thing as shitty board culture. Wanting consolidation will never work out for a board like this, you'll just get more and more angry over it until your rage can power a small town by itself. Thoughts?
>>683434This is good trolling but I worry about those taking it seriously
>>683435It's 100% sincere anon, if you have anything to say about it, the floor is all yours.
>>683436The floor is blendlets' to shit on
>>683434>Possibly on any other creative board this would be madness,It's actually the normal thing to do in forums. A new thread for every new issue. Of course, there's a policy against duplicated issues and people who don't look whether their thing has been solved are frowned upon, but we can't ask for the same here.
>>683434Just bump your question in the questions thread its not too hard. Fuck you.If you go on /g/ and ask "hey what watch should I buy?" or post for tech support for your random flavor of linux people are going to shit up your thread about it too. I mean fuck you the sticky on /g/ even says pic related. If we didn't have the questions, blender, and /wip/ threads the catalog would be filled completely with random questions that only need one post to answer and threads about some guys cool 3d model hes working very hard on. Fuck you this board needs board specific rules and they need to be enforced. Posting a stupid question outside the general should result in post deletion and 2 day ban.Seriously fuck you. I hate you and anyone else that enables this shit.
>>683450Chill dude, it's just a board on 4ch*nz.
>>683450Maybe dunk your head in a bowl of ice to cool it off before replying if you're so angry.- I don't give two shits about /g/, we're talking about /3/. I don't know why you brought it up even. /3/'s sticky doesn't have a rule saying you should check the catalog before making a thread, so I guess the mod at the time didn't care if you did or not.- I never said you should get rid of every thread that's not a question thread. The miscellaneous threads that generate interest for a long time every now and then are great and should continue to exist as long as people are interested. The questions thread is borderline useless for actually containing questions and you just told me that you have to bump your question more often than not to have a chance to have it answered. Why bother when you could get more visibility by just making a new thread?- The board's already in the situation you hate anyway. /3/ isn't getting a mod or board specific rules, nobody higher up gives a fuck about this derelict board. It's a waste of time to have a dedicated moderator for such a low-traffic board anyway.Just deal with it and move on with your life. Better to just accept the one-off threads as a legitimate part of /3/ than to throw a tantrum while screaming MOOODS A THREAD DIED FOR THIS or something similar every thread. I will say it again: nobody will hear it, it falls on deaf ears every time, and if /3/ has a mod he really doesn't care. Adapt or stay hopelessly salty.
>>683464Fuck off I'm not some little bitch who's going to accept being fucked by retards. I'm going to stand firm and shame every fuck wad that doesn't have a problem with this for being too fucking stupid to search the catalog.I brought up /g/ because they do it right and that's how it should be on here too but we don't have a mod to add it to the sticky or delete off topic threads so we as people who post here regularly have to bitch at retards until they conform or leave.
>>683559>I'm not some little bitch who's going to accept being fucked by retards>I'm going to stand firmlmao aren't you the little resistance fighter that's going to save /3/ from the one-off threat. Fucking cringe mate, go wank one off and drink a beer, you desperately need it.
>>683559>I brought up /g/ because they do it right and that's how it should be on here too but we don't have a mod to add it to the sticky or delete off topic threads so we as people who post here regularly have to bitch at retards until they conform or leave. What makes you think the mod would do any of that if we even had one? As far as you're concerned, an off-topic thread isn't something that has nothing to do with the subject of the board, it's just a thread you don't like and wish it was gone. Like it or not, 100% of the question, software and assorted threads that pop up have to do with 3D, it's actually just about as on-topic as it could be for the board. The only off-topic threads that ever pop up on /3/ are from retards who fat finger the new thread button on the wrong board (I.E., here) while using some wacky browser extension.
>>683590Because they fucking do delete threads for off topic on other boards as well as threads that shouldn't exist because its a duplicate thread. >>683584Actually fuck off you think i'm the only "a thread died for this" fag on this board? If you don't like the board culture then fuck off you add nothing to the board except spam threads and samefaggotry.
>>683598Again with the other board shit, this is this board, not any other board. Stop holding them all to the same moderation standard. Do you see /b/ and /g/ as being on the same level for instance? The disheartening part is that you're not the only one wetting his pants from every irrelevant, benign thread that gets tossed off the bottom of the board and that's sad. Maybe realize that threads people are interested in on this board get bumped up and the rest of the shit goes down eventually. It's actually perfectly natural, working as intended, no further moderation ever required. Also fuck off with your all-knowing sagely "board culture" shit. You don't get to decide or gatekeep the morals and standards of fucking /3/ of all boards. The only culture this board has is that bitching about blender is fun, bitching about autodesk is funner, and if you want feedback then post your work. Otherwise it's a free-for-all, and that's fine and probably the only thing keeping this life-support board alive. Honestly, you oblivious-ass threadfags are lame as fuck and suck the fun out of everything. The sooner you all get buried on a ditch, the better this board will be for everyone else.
A thread died for this. Let that sink in.
>>683616>not the only one wetting his pants from every irrelevant, benign thread that gets tossed off the bottom of the board and that's sad. Maybe realize that threads people are interested in on this board get bumped up and the rest of the shit goes down eventually. No they don't the people who post these useless threads are too stupid to use the catalog to know if theres any threads they might want to go to retard. Also I'm not the one that brought up board culture. If that wasn't you that brought it up then maybe you should actually fucking read the comment chain before jumping in with your head up your ass.Go make your own place to get daily "how do I remove the white dots from my renders?" or "How do I put a texture on an object I'm new to 3d?" threads without having to deal with the real bad guys out there. The ones who want people to do things the way the board is set up.I mean fuck you can you actually use your brain instead of spouting retardation thinking that these people would bump threads they find interesting instead of making a new thread to ask a question when they can't. even. use. the. catalog.Fuck.
>>683626>No they don'tStopped reading there. Keep denying the way all the boards work all you want: people bump threads they're interested in, when interest goes under, the threads go down and die. Whether you like it or not, this logic is ironclad and works for every single board on this website. Stop being an entitled retard over this, go out for a walk and rethink your anger issues over the way this board works.
>>683631Quit being stupid for 15 minutes and tell me how people too retarded to look through the catalog or even Google before asking a stupid question will go out of their way to bump good threads?
>>683639Threads have regulars, you special child. You preach very much about the questions and /WIP/ thread so you should know. If the /WIP/ thread and questions thread generate enough interest to reach the bump limit every time without fail, so can any other thread people are interested in. The old 3D thread is two years old, in fact lots of other threads are between five to ten months old, that sort of thing is UNHEARD OF in any other board. People bump them and keep them alive out of interest, they don't want the thread to die. When they're bumped new people may come in and add to the discussion, bringing the threads back up again. You seem to think there's only two types of users on /3/, the supposed retarded kids that can't check the catalog and you, but you're doing a disservice to all the other guys that stick around and make this possible. You also have problems understanding very simple concepts so let me break it down to you again: the board is fine, the shitty threads die easy and the good threads stay around. /3/ is so slow that people skipping the catalog and making question threads every day has ZERO IMPACT on the longevity of old quality threads on this board, so moderating that is a waste of time. Get over yourself already.
>>683434People who cry about threads that haven't been touched in literal weeks dying are Fucking faggotsQuestions get answered a lot quicker in their own thread >>683408>T.reddit
>>683439>ForumsREDDITORS LEAVE NOW
>>683450>People are going to shit up your thread about it tooYeah but it also gets answered, then the thread dies naturally
>>683645You're mixing up board regulars and people who come here, ask a stupid question, then stop doing 3d because they can't google shit>>683647Quit projecting
Blender noob here. I have a plane with a procedural shader. I thought I would be able to scale the plan at will and the scale of the texture would be uniform but apparently this isn't the case. Jesus Christ. Even the most simple task involves a million steps in Blender. Oh well. Is there no easy fix?
>>683406have u tried uv unwrap the model?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=brnaAL-Qwh
>>683408>checks bottom of catalog>last thread last bumped in may 3>three weeks agoOkay retard
>>683683>You're mixing up board regulars and people who come here, ask a stupid question, then stop doing 3d because they can't google shitThey're both part of the board. Board regulars don't have special features or more privileges than other people, everyone is the same. You wanna make a distinction between veterans and newcomers, go to reddit or something. I'm sure they'll take you in with open arms.
>>683729You know what you do you. Keep making single question threads could you put a trip on though so I can filter your utter stupidity.Once you've been here long enough you'll realize how much cancer daily how to do x threads are.
>>683732>You know what you do you. Keep making single question threads could you put a trip on though so I can filter your utter stupidity. This is what I told you to do since post one, filter out stuff you don't like. But it looks like you enjoy being angry and arguing from a losing position far more than just clicking a button and watching the problem disappear, so I'm not sure the advice applies to you anymore. I've been here since 2015 which is when I got into 3D. I've never made a one-off question thread, I usually stick to the WIP thread. Like I said, I used to get mad as fuck over this stuff, then I realized it's practically board culture at this point, most people enjoy the software slapfight threads, they enjoy the wacky one-off threads, and they don't mind the question threads. If you care about board hygiene, you're in the wrong board, /3/ is a pigsty with a couple of clean corners, and that's what makes it enjoyable and worth going back to.
>>683736>it's practically board culture at this point"a thread died for this" is board culture at this point
>>683737ATDFT posting is a fairly recent thing. One-offs have existed since far before my time, I believe. It's like having a mexican immigrate to america and start making tacos every day, and then a month later say that tacos are practically typical american cuisine at this point.
>>683408>a-a thread died for this ;_;Blow it out your ass
>>683736Are you the robot spider guy? I'm going to laugh my ass off if yes
