With all your _instant_ jumping on literally every Blender topic that pops up, making you spew all those snarky jokes and bitterness, you seem like some dog that feels threatened and gets all bitey. There's absolutely no reason to get so defensive about all this. The industry standards won't change over night and Blender can't give studios support which is absolutely imperative for said professional studios. It's great for what it is but it still lacks in certain workflows that are common in the professional areas and as I said, no support and you can't google shit all the time when something doesn't work. It's great for people who want to test the waters of 3D modelling just have another option to do this without the hassle of licenses and all that. Occasional freelancers also have this option but both are no danger for the whole industry. I don't see how this whole situation justifies this impotent rage you see in literally every thread.

>>680613>their free-for-all tool will never be taken serious in the industryI don't understand how this is important though. If someone wants to mod his game, dick around with sculpting for the shits or wants to make some custom coffee cup to be printed for his GF, why would he care if his tool is taken seriously in the industry?

From justice.gov>The first sale doctrine, codified at 17 U.S.C. ยง 109, provides that an individual who knowingly purchases a copy of a copyrighted work from the copyright holder receives the right to sell, display or otherwise dispose of that particular copy, notwithstanding the interests of the copyright owner.
>>680664To add, how fucking stupid are you?copyrighted content>books>music>video games>moviesThese are all things you are legally allowed to resell holy shit. Why the f does that need explanation? Fucking gamestop was for a while a massive business and has always been known to sell used games. I can buy used books on Amazon right now. Holy shit anon I hope that was bait.
>>680666Oy, but companies aren't selling you a copy of their work, that would be silly! You pay for a license to use a copy of their work. Licenses aren't copyrighted, of course! You need different laws! Do you have them, eh?
>>680672This is what pisses me off. That and getting rid of perpetual licenses to get rid of even more freedom. If you want to use the software and make money you have to follow explicit guidelines and expect you to lose more freedom over time because fuck you we have the most market share.I hope you don't like that more niche software they were making or you like a smaller competitors software because fuck you we are shutting down development on that after purchasing it or we just didn't make enough money on it. We're still going to charge you monthly to use it though fuck you. That point isn't just for autodesk, more aimed at pixologic. 3ds max will probably become completely depreciated software soon though so thats going to be fun.
>>680599Short answer: /3/'s toxic to every program that isn't Maya or zBrush. Be damned if you use Blender, SFM, C4D or even Sketchup. In fact, I'd argue /3/ is just toxic to humanity, and I'm willing to bet that most of the users here don't even open their 3D programs unless they're browsing the board (if that even).
desu most of these threads are made by blender users. y'all insecure as fuck. this desperate need to prove that your tool is equal to if not better than everything else out there. you see this garbage attitude on /3/ twitter as well, where some dude just showing off his cool shit and sum blendie shows up and is like 'WELL LOOK WHAT BLENDER CAN DO / HAS BEEN ABLE TO DO FOR YEARS...' just move on with your lives and make good shit and laugh shit off.

>>680599only big reason i dont like blender is because my workflow requires the cut tool 80% of the time and blenders is just unusable.the other reason is i use free form transform tools like the sculpting grab tool, with max it lets me grab specific parts and move them like im sculpting and quite frankly no software supports that like max does.
>>680599Well, it's free. My time, on the other hand, isn't. I tried so many times to get into it but I'm too fixated on the workflows and UIs of other tools, I never got comfortable with it. That is of course my problem, not one of blender.
>>680745It's true though, the board's filled with elitists and retards that it can make anyone become unmotivated. And should be among the first boards purged if Hiromoot can get off his lazy ass and realize how many of the boards are just a small amount of schizos and idiots.
>>680784>the board's filled with elitistsWe are not elitists; just people with higher standards.
as a blender user myself, i can understand the feeling of disconnect between the user and the program.blender is like a barebones car. it has barely has the safety tech you need, its reasonably comfortable, and its very affordable but the ride is harsh and you need to tune it up in order to maximize its potential. it does BARELY enough in each department. you really need your plugins and your custom libraries to get a decent workflow.this is also why they put so much emphasis on modeling and UV's. because its the simple tools people need in order to get the job done. any other feature needs to be boosted and modded
>>680829The UV workflow in Blender is by far the worst included in any serious DCC. Even Houdini is better.

> Why is this board so bitey, insecure and defensive towards anything Blender? You already answered your own question, they're insecure, nobody complains aggressively on a daily basis about something they don't see as a threat to them somehow, if they were on good terms with their tools this would happens much less (just the typical shitposters would do it).Take /g/ for example, they see Microsoft and Apple as a serious threat to privacy, constantly bash them in the board.

>>680599Because they've been duped into handing over money for something they could have for free. Now they have to convince themselves that they're right because they're already invested and can't get a refund.Imagine if society normalized again. Suddenly all of the roasties would be shunned, all of the miscegenists would be shunned, all of the trannies who've chopped their dicks off would be ostracized, all of the faggots and degenerates would be exiled. Why? Because they've already done something they can't undo. Just like the anons who bought magic beans.By not having bought the magic beans you're still able to make a choice, unlike them who rushed in (like the fools they are). Now they get worried that they're going to be left behind, they'll constantly be reminded of the mistakes they've made because living your life through a instagram mantra of "I would rather regret doing something than regret not doing something lol" is guaranteed to bring you bad times. So if they've made the mistake and some people haven't made the mistake, there's a good possibility those who haven't made the mistake will be the dominant force in the future and those of the outdated past will be left on their own with own each other for company and being ridiculed by the uninfected - losers. How best to avoid this potential future? By making everyone commit the same sins, by having them buy the magic beans, that way we can all be losers together. Then we can finally make progress because everyone is equal. But we can never be equal and make progress until you have AIDS too. It would be nice to undo the AIDS, but we can't. Therefore the only alternative is to push our retarded ideas onto you until you fall for them too.So what you waiting for goy? Hop right in.

With all your _instant_ jumping on literally every Autodesk topic that pops up, making you spew all those snarky jokes and bitterness, you seem like some dog that feels threatened and gets all bitey. There's absolutely no reason to get so defensive about all this. The bugs won't be fixed over night and Autodesk can't deliver the quality of life updates which are absolutely imperative for not wanting to kill yourself after a few hours of use. It's great for what it is but it is stuck in the 90's because of veterans who aren't compatible with modern software, is full of bloat and you'll find yourself stuck with corrupt files because they just tack on more features rather than fix what's already there. It's great for people who have grown up with it and don't consider other options due to a fear of change. Occasional /3/tards also have this option but are generally just shitposting on the forums. I don't see how this whole situation justifies this impotent rage you see in literally every thread.

This is exactly the kind of stuff i was talking about. Blendlets can't argue against a hybrid pirate / legitimate customer situation, therefore they try to silence the opinion of people like me. Guess what, IT DOESN'T WORK. >>682526Its better than nothing. But there are limitations (which you can work around sometimes, sometimes not)Go for it, test it out before dealing with a cracked RLM server. It definitely can be used for creating nice (smaller) assets.
>>682517Open a company and install unlicensed copies of all those programs in computers in the same network, you'll get fat Autodicks and Adobecocks in you fag ass. Not everyone do 3D modeling in an amateur environment like you do or have money to waste on bloated software, not to mention that Adobe started to push their shit in a SAAS model this week and it's just a matter of time for Autodesk to adopt it, and when they do you'll get an outdated piece of shit unless you pay for a license. Good luck faggot.
>>682532I have no problem to admit that i don't use all the software nor do i know how to use all the software. A lot of it is redundant but i am trying to learn what i consider useful. But since you want to know, i did the Spiderbot, modeled half of it in Blender the rest in Maya and XSI, did the cloth in Marvelous Designer, used Substance Painter for a base surface job, Mari for fine details, Arnold for rendering. I considered dumping Arnold for Renderman, or doing my final scene in Clarisse because i love this software and want to try it out. I'll probably use Quixel mixer for ground textures and Zbrush and Houdini for the environment and SpeedTree for trees and stuff. I like to use the best software for the job. >>682534Another retard who can't even read. I am employed, i don't pay for fucking software licenses at work. Nobody is denying the fact that you can get fucked if you illegally use proprietary software in an commercial environment. Why do we even need to discuss this stuff - its obvious and has nothing to do with this discussion. But nobody gives a flying shit if you use pirated software at home if you don't use it for commercial stuff. And yes, Autodesk and Adobe are shitty with their fucking SAAS model, it gives me some extra pleasure to fuck them over, but their software sadly is still relevant if you want to do 3D or 2D and if you work for an employer you have no say in what software is used. I am very flexible when it comes to software, if you are a blendlet who isn't, than good luck to you.
Faggot.
>>682533Yeah you make so much money and I'm also the queen of england. >its not my work computer guisalso>implying that you can be impartial when you are negating a major con of said software for someone who actually uses it to make moneyGuys this Hummer is so great, totally better than whatever you're driving. I'm impartial because I'm just out on a test drive and am the best person to talk about just how great this thing is. I mean who cares about mileage right? I'll actually discuss things with you like you're an adult if you were to have gotten your software in a way you can use it to make money mr 0 dollars spent including tax.
>>682539Not him but >Why do we even need to discuss this stuff - its obvious and has nothing to do with this discussionYou're the one that jumped in with the "blendlets don't understand that us cool guys pirate the software" then get really defensive when people call you out on piracy not being a viable alternative to software outside of sitting at your home making nice renders to show off on a south Korean beat boxing simulator forum.
>>682540>>682541This guy >>682386 argued with buyers remorse and i countered by telling him that pirates don't suffer from buyers remorse, therefore can judge the abilities of a software better than somebody who does suffer from it (or is ideologically obsessed with FOSS)If you cannot follow or accept that argument then it is on you. I think it is very plausible. I never negated the fact that proprietary software costs money, i acknowledged it by saying it is obvious, you either pay for commercial use or suffer the consequences. There is no need for further discussion about that. I am not arguing for pirating software and using it commercially, but pirating stuff to learn at home gives you much more chances on the job-market than sticking with Blender. Also if there are no negative consequences, why would you stick with a inferior software if you can have all the software. Quality of life is a thing even for hobbyists. The argument that Blender is free ONLY works in an freelancer situation or if you the owner of a company which is the absolute minority on /3.
>>682550Dude I want you to reread your original post and try to tell me how you think that >This is really something Blendlets can't get through their head...their arguments about money/costs don't make any sense and the whole argument falls apart.isn't just dancing around pretending that you are better than quote>blendletsfor pirating arguably better software?I'm not going to argue that blender is objectively better than any other software, but entry price is a major factor that has to be taken into account. Sure a brand porsche carrera is going to preform better than a toyota corrola, more expensive things tend to have better features, but nobody is going to have any respect for the guy going on about how nice a stolen car is. All I have is car analogies.I'd be actually impressed and actually care about your original argument if your use of the software supported you enough to be able to afford all that. That would actually be quite impressive.
>>682555I am not a better or worse person for having access to some software. That in itself is not valuable. Especially not if you and everybody else can get these software with minimal effort and no money. Knowing how to use these tools is the only important value. Knowledge and experience are what i am concerned with, not money since it can be eliminated from the equation. A car thief who is the best driver in town gets my admiration and respect, not for stealing cars but for being a kickass driver.
>>682560Well yeah, if a car thief was a good enough driver to afford the car hes driving I'd be impressed. Most places put you through a training period before hiring by the way, they don't expect you to be some master of every 3d software on the market. Its much better to learn just maya or blender and substance and maybe throw in some basic zbrush than go into the interview just naming off all the different softwares you've dabbled in. You're ability as an artist is more important than the software you use.The end product and the time it takes you to arrive at that end product are more important to a company than that list of softwares you've used to make it. You really aren't in the best position to seem smart either, mister pirate. I really just wanted to make fun of you for pretending to be cool for pirating literally every commercial software and having any informed opinion on them beyond the what the average person could acquire through watching a few youtube videos and checking out the price.
>>682563>>682560forgot to say I'm tired of this and not going to do this all day. 4 hours is my limit.Next model don't forget to add in zbrush and houdini! Obviously you will be much better if you do that.
>>680599I'm a beginner, but what's wrong with using Blender? In fact a lot of pros who are in the current industry started out at Blender, even if they had to learn the company's personal engine. Some movies even has some uses of Blender. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Next Gen for example.I'm sure it's acknowledge, but no company gonna give up their own engines and in house style that instant. I don't think Blender is currently bad from learning (but who knows once I get better and used to it.)Only other 3D software I ever used was Cinema4D, was pretty good.
>>682580There is nothing wrong with Blender, its just a little mediocre and doesn't excel in any discipline except price and lack of license nonsense. There is a very vocal minority of rabid Blender fanboys who piss off everybody in the 3D world by insisting that Blender is better than (all) proprietary software (which it isn't). And they are everywhere. The backlash against Blender is actually more an backlash against the arguments and the presence of these people. Just go on Youtube and read the comments under a video about 3D software and most likely you'll find some of these. No other user group of any 3D software is behaving like this and no other user group has such a bad reputation.
Blender is shit and proven itself to be shit over and over. Nobody is being bitey, they're just stating facts. Blendlets can't stand facts and so they think they're being attacked.Blendfags are projecting and acting like animals because they can't into a modern polished editor, like Maya.

>>682607YT comments are usually scummy regardless of what topic you try to talk about. /3/'s another place I see this happen. As someone who has both Blender and Maya on my computer (and admittedly, I don't use the latter all that much even though I've been meaning to). I can safely say that both the fanboys and haters are over-exaggerating when it comes to this whole thing. Is the program good by any stretch of the imagination? Well it isn't 2.4, and it's made plenty of improvements upon hitting the 2.7 era. But it still has a long way to go before it can really be considered an actually good program without the need of addons like FLIP Fluids or BPainter or stuff along those lines. At the same time though, those who praise Autodesk don't realize that Maya is first and foremost an animation tool, not an all-in-one like Blender tries to be. Hence why studios have pipelines where multiple programs-some off the shelf, some heavily customized, some completely original to the studio-at use in the same time. If people just did this instead of engaging in loyalty wars over Blender/Maya/Whatever third party like DAZ, zBrush or C4D, the board would be a far better place than it is. But it doesn't and this, isn't much better than most YT comment sections. Heck, I'd argue it can get worse than those. That's just my two cents on the matter.
>>682622>>682669It gets me knowing that almost every one of them barely completed the donut tutorial and go around talking about how great blender is and every time theres a video about having trouble with autodesk or the like the comments are full of dunning kruger idiots going on about how good their software is.Its just children, weird old people, and 3rd worlders though like every youtube comment section out there. Heres we have shitters like OP and god knows how many other slavs/hues and kids starting new threads about blender questions because they are too stupid to use the catalog. Theres nothing wrong with the software, in fact its much better than it has any right to be compared to other free things like it. The community is really to blame, the vocal ones who just discovered the software and shortly after making an anvil and donut will probably never actually even launch the software again are to blame. They are the same type of people who defend free to play video games to the grave like warframe or whatever. Sorry for the rant, but fuck blender would be so much better if it had any at all barrier to entry like if it just cost 20 bucks with no regional pricing.
>>682679ive seen it on an old forum now, a lot more than the usual "this is like having a huge fucking army but nobody cares because we all use shit and don't even care if there's a problem". You know people who have a lot of skill with a new application, you know the ones who have a lot of time and dedication, the ones who could have learned shit more easily... This is why it isnt that OP to complain about users of the software. We have been waiting years to see this happen and we expect nothing less, especially from an indie game developer. We also expect the developers to respond with something nice to us like 1.2.1 or something. If people are playing the beta they should tell us, let us know.
Basically people who spend thousands of dollars a year for the same software but with an inbuilt DRM, are mad we're doing it better and for free. They can stay mad.
>>683625>we're doing it better and for free.see, that's the shit that riles the other side up again. both sides are literally retarded.blender is a GREAT piece of developing software but it's still a long way to go, even the developers themselves have no problem saying this.you might be easily be able to do everything needed for your particular projects with it but in general, it still lacks a lot and saying it is "better" than the others is either pure ignorance or just blatant bait.
>>680599I migrated from Maya 5.0 to blender 2.8.Blender is 1000x superior.
Blender 2.8 is the fucking tits.It is better than Maya or 3d Max.
>>680599Better question is "why is this board so bitey, insecure, and defensive towards anything in general?" I swear there's so many retards losing their shit over some modeling method they don't like, or giving very shitty, incorrect, or irrelevant advice while being very sure of themselves.
Blender is fucking stupid and so are the dumb faggots that use it.

>>680665>>4chan is primarily for shitposting.>>hurrdurr leds shid ub de place and den go bag do leddid :DDDDDDDDDD>absolute newfag trash and a fucking waste of airBut he's right. There is too much shitpost-flow from the other boards. This is why 4chan can't ever have nice, productive or helpfull boards. (in the matter op describes)
>>683997>This is why 4chan can't ever have nice, productive or helpfull boards. This site is literally what you make out of it. It is a blank canvas. If you're just contributing to the shitposting because "hurrdurr it can't be helped" you're the problem.
I have found that the truly toxic people are the over-sensitive blenderfags who feel so threatened by the dominance of maya and maya-users that they have to make an entire thread demanding attention for it. It is you faggots that respond to the "bullying" who displease me the most. You are pathetic and disgusting.
>>684497The Blender thread is a containment thread. Nobody likes blendlets.
>>684497>posting selfies on /3/
>>684503So cruel.
>>680599It's unfathomable to me, especially since I consider all modelling suites to be lacking features, unintuitive and overly redundant in their design. Some people fancy themselves "professionals", I guess. they're the sort that would attack me for using Paint.NET instead of Photoshop or whatever. I figure they need to justify their purchases, get acknowledgement or something. There's also a minority of them that actually cannot comprehend that anybody could like a free product more than a paid one.And then when you realise that a lot of these people use Macs, well it reaffirms that what they're really after is the appearance of status.
It's not like it's only directed at blender. Those kinda posts comes from 'fanboi' type people who use their equipment/software for posturing rather than as a tool.An expert user of any of these programs aren't invested like that since it's all about what you can do with the program, not what the program can potentially do in the hands of someone else.In general experts who use a software have heated opinions about the shortcomings of the tool they themselves use, skill-less hacks have heated opinions about the tools others use. There are scores of 'muh industry standard' wannabe's who flick shit at blender at any chance they get around here, very true. But there are also scores of 'muh free opensource' puritans that have a deep seated hatred towards the idea of proprietary software holding such a halo in this field.Complaining about it is pretty fruitless, you won't fix these people in a post or ten. Whats broken in them only time may mend.
Tons of bored people
>>684497That's a rather circumcised argument.
>>680599>muh industry standards>muh workflow >muh professionalUse fucking milkshape for all I care
>>680599You're askin the wrong question here buddlet. It's the other way around. Every maya/3ds max videos on youtube have cancerous comment sections because of blendlets. You're always the ones attacking other software.
>>685665>no u How pathetic
>>685668>Act like a bunch of fanatic assholes>Complain because everyone is tired of your bullshit and shilling of free softwareThe Blendinette paradox.
>>685738Yeah, cry some more delicious tears
they are afraid that their expertise will be rendered obsolete by a shift in the industryit's already happening, studios are switching to blender (see man in the high castle and next gen)most people are resistant to change and those trained in maya will do all they can to discredit blenderbut it's all in vain because money talks in the end and studios cannot ignore the benefits of blender so they'll switch, and users of autodesk products will have to bite the bullet and learn blender, or be out of a jobit's all good either way, those who switch will remain in the industry using the best tools available, and those who are too obtuse will be without a job, but at least they won't be using autodesk products anymore
>>685800>shift towards BLunder LMAOMight as well predict a shift from Photoshop to MSpaintEven if they would ever stop using Autodesk (and they won't) there is still Houdini (approx. a million times more capable than Blunder will ever be) or even Lightwave or ModoWhy can't you just continue using your crappy amateur app without running your mouths ? Do you really have to convince yourselves that Blunder will ever be of any importance? How pathetic are you?
>>680599>It's great for what it is but it still lacks in certain workflows that are common in the professional areas and as I said, no support and you can't google shit all the time when something doesn't work.name one. people always say vague bullshit like this but never follow up. I'm waiting
>>685801Many people are already moving away from Adobe products to competitors it's I wouldn't recommend comparing a move from Photoshop to anything with a move to blender
>>685803>name oneUDIM support
>>685800>(see man in the high castle and next gen)As always, you keep bringing the same handful of movies and artists for years. This just shows how little studios care about your piece of crap. For every movie made in blender there's thousands made in Maya/Houdini. In 5 years you'll still be shilling Next Firefly and Donut in the high anvil.
>>685806Many people doesn't mean most people. Adobe also gain new users every day. And people moving away from Adobe mostly go towards Affinity which isn't open source crap. If people were to move away from autodesk (which won't happen) they'd most likely use Houdini or Modo.
>>685812Autodesk is another really shitty example especially if you pay attention to waning support for 3ds max and if you're going to use examples for shit please be consistent or you look really fucking stupid. I'm not the guy that made the first point in this reply chain I just saw how actually angry you are that someone would point out another software that the industry could move towards.Autodesk and Adobe are all but hated by general users and it's just the natural course of software companies to get huge and stop innovating while smaller ones come up to push innovation. When it's open source though like you brought up it tends to have a dramatically lower chance of being bought out and eaten by a monopoly.See: >music notation software musescore is arguably the best in that entire field of software>Krita is the first painting software to offer true hdr and support painting in hdrIt may not be blender that kills Autodesks reign at the top but you should be prepared for anything
>>685800Studios are still waiting for UDIM, OpenVDB, USD, proper Alembic, proper cryptomatte, before Blender has any chance in the industry. And the list is much larger actually.Blender is still this isolated kid who doesn't like to play with others and it needs some effort to get out of this situation.
>>685812Actually ignore >>685816 . You're right autodesk is stuck at the top forever and everyone should focus exclusively on 3dsmax and maybe maya but autodesk is a great company so just stick with the tried and true.Things will never change.
>>680629your point?
>Imagine paying for software
>>688038>imagine being too stupid to abuse edu licenses>imagine being too stupid to download and crack software>imagine being a talentless hack with no income so you can't afford software>imagine not getting a job at a studio where they pay for you software>imagine being too stupid to offset the costs with your tax>imagine being too stupid for freelancing and letting you customer pay for the softwarejust imagine, man

people here really hate blender huh? is it because its free and open source? I had no problems with the programme itself and I use it pretty much all the time.

>>696794never ceases to be funny how those crusty standardfags are this shaken by Blender.it is just a fucking tool you use to create pixels, calm the fuck down.

>>696794>BlendletI don't even have Blender installed, but nice try.
>>696815Cry some more, Blendlet. That's what you get for not using the industry standard.
>>697262>BlendletI don't even have Blender installed, but nice try.
People get salty because there's not much reason to use Blender. For example, Blender doesn't really make sense for western studios because software costs are tiny compared to animator salaries. In that sense Blender being "free" doesn't offer much advantage over software like Maya, especially if a studio has already invested in a pipeline based on that software. Ironically, as Blender becomes more capable it might catch on more in Japan because animators there get paid a lot less than western animators so software costs could have a larger impact on profitability.
>>697286You don't have to install it to use it if you're downloading daily builds. But nice try blendie.
i wwanted to try out modo but they switched to a subscription like autodesk if i remember right.shame, it looked really nice
>>681824Ah, the go-to defense for your average blendet. You see, they know that no one that uses Maya will post their work on 4Chan because they have a chance of getting an industry job. However, the blendet runs no risk of posting their donuts, as they are doomed to never be in the industry. It's the perfect mental hurdle.
>>697616>>681824>>680658These posts literally make no sense.Post a renderer or better yet a modeling of something and/or tutorial. What are you afraid the internet will steal your pixels? Or are you so shit that you are ashamed to post it? What everyone here is anonymous. So the truth comes out that idiots like you can not even 3D model a cube in any software and you are a payed shitposter to shit on blender.
>>680731The same is true for all of 4chan.You go to /g/ or /biz/to see the final circle of shitposting hell.

Some modules we make are using more permissive licenses, though, for example, the Blender Cycles rendering engine is available as Apache 2.0.>Blender also uses many modules or libraries from other projects. For example, Python uses the Python License; Bullet uses the Zlib License; Libmv uses the MIT License; and OSL, a BSD License.>All the components that together make Blender are compatible under the newer GNU GPL Version 3. That is also the license to use for any distribution of Blender binaries.
Bump for Blender
Meme overdoses
>>680599Because blendlets are annoying and retarded as fuck. Blender is nowhere as good as they want you to believe.
It's the fursecution phenomena all over again. When in the mid 00s people on 4chan started to hate furries so much that they literally couldn't stop talking about them and frequently derailed threads and discussions way worse than any furfag ever could.
>>680599People in here are not professionals. It's just a bunch of losers looking for lolis shitposting. Only blendlets ever post any work, ask any advice and overall contribute. The haters are all failed people.
>>700832Blendlets and furries, at the same level? Quite reasonable, indeed.

>>680599It's basically the same argument as the Mac vs PC screeching years go.You could have posted this pic and watch all mac users go insane, screeching: "But it FEELS right. It's the industry standard. Do you think I'm stupid for buying this!? I'm a PROFESSIONAL!"
>>708339what is wrong about paying 5k for the design?

>>708339Just let's be honest here; it takes a special breed of people to stick with Macintosh for so longhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Tq7yykR-DM
>>680599When people don't have anything to contribute, they fill the void with shitposts
A lot of it is just shitposting. There is a lot of bad work created using Blender since it's free; Blender has been a solid choice and is only getting better. That combined with the prior stigma makes for either an easy target or a source for shitposting. At the end of the day, great work can be done in basically any software.
>Blender bad>Me right and everyone else wrongThey're pretty much just mad people don't have a massive entrance free into the industry. Instead of actually doing something productive like helping someone or suggesting something they'll spoud words like blendie and blendlet to try and desperately belittle someone. Honestly, it's pathetic and I enjoy making these people angry.
>>708858I would be angry too if I had to spend shitload of money and 5 years in Uni to get the same result as a basement dweller religiously studying pirated tuts for a year.
Blender is a fucking tool. if it fits your needs use it, no point in fucking worshipping it. same goes for any other program. i think people shitting on it want to justify the thousands of dollars they poured on paid software. i've been using blender since 2007 and so far i see little reason to switch to any other program.just learn to ignore any thread shitting on any piece of software. people who reply to them seem to want to waste their time worshipping programs instead of using them to do work
People pay thousands of dollars to go to college, spend hundreds on software, work for years mastering "Industry" tools only to get shown up by some kid who picked up a free program and made 3d models to jerk off to in his basement. Of course they are angry.
>>680599>Why is this board so bitey, insecure and defensive towards anything Blender?because they've spent hundreds, to thousands on a hobby. blendlads just sat back and watched their fun little free software turn into a powerhouse, and the dummies that spent all their cash have been sitting on stagnant software. it's like being given a honda civic that slowly turns into a lambo, vs paying for a lambo that degrades every day.
>>682386ok, this is epic.
>>680599Honestly I'd be fucking pissed if Blender became the industry standard. Not because of sunk cost or anything like that because I've literally never had to actually pay for industry software, but because right now the most unpleasant interface I have to use is zbrush and I don't think I could handle it getting any worse than that. Also, it's the inverse literally anywhere else with CG discussion. If you mention using Maya on Twitter there's like a 50% chance you'll get a Blender user in your mentions that spends all day namesearching other 3D software for some reason. If you mention using Photoshop someone that likes CSP will show up to tell you about how cheap it is. At least if it was the other way around you could go "lol yeah but what if they're being paid to shill".
>>697822That's a funny capital of denmark you posted there anon
>>682517Lmao all those programs can't produce jack.>Not using Fragrance Evolved to make your 3d art.
>>711373>but because right now the most unpleasant interface I have to use is zbrushLmao how is Zbrush bad unless you're a scrub who looked at some pictures/videos and think they know how to use it. If you ever spent any time using it, you'd find it to be easy/customization and pretty comfy.
Some guy literally did their job for them and made a great UI Example, all they literally had to do was copy paste what he did and they actually laughed at him.Blender will always be shit.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UWacQrEcMHk
>>711587Not liking something =/= having a hard time using it. ZBrush is the best sculpting software that currently exists, I use it almost every day, and I still can't fucking stand 80% of the interface decisions. I don't like the Premiere interface either and it's not because Premiere is totally, like, the dark souls of video editing interfaces. I doubt you've got much going on if this is what you're trying to turn into a dick measuring contest.
