Confess your /3/ sins
I can't fucking draw at all and I use 3D as a crutch for it. It's like, I have perfect sense of perspective and proportions in my brain but I can't translate that to paper at all. I have to model it to make it look right.
>>679575I'm putting the finishing touches on a model of zhezhe. I'm going to do very bad things to that model.
i hate the non technical parts of /3/love retopology, hard surface modelling(cars, guns, etc) and coding addonsHate Sculpting, drawing and "blocking out"fuck blocking out.
I've made a 3D model for 2B , I gave it for a friend of main which in return gave to to some pedo mother fucker who tweaked it and made porn out of it.
>>679601How can he be a pedo if he likes 2B
>>679575I can only animate in SFM and have 0 knowledge of modelling and i dont plan to move to blender/maya/etc.
>>679598you should look into fx td stuff in houdini, its made for people like us
>>679607Plan on it. With 2.8 and Eevee, you can make infinitely better looking animations than the shitty looking sfm ones, plus you can do a lot more once you learn the program. Don't be a sfm baby forever, take it from someone who makes a living wage off of patreon-cucks ;^)
>>679654Nah i dont want to learn from 0 again since blender is throwing away all i knew about 3d animation
>>679575>I haven't opened ______ in weeks and I have forgotten how to do the most basic shit.>I am rewatching tutorials I have already completed for the third or fourth time because my retard brain cannot retain information.>I hate animation and I hate spending weeks on something that will only be seen for 2 seconds of time on screen.
>>679598same here, creating things from scratch hurts, but I could spend hours and hours messing with existing models. I only start enjoying things once I move onto the highpoly.
>>679702Then just give up. SFM is the lowest of the low these days.
>>679774Dont want to. Because SFM is simply just works :)
>>679598So you like repetitive tasks and hate being creative and making decisions. Why arent you just working in a warehouse stacking boxes all day?
>>679966>implying that technical art is repetitive and doesn't require creativityNGMI.
I don't actually 3d model. This is just the first board that pops up when I open Clover
>>679776Hi. I started out with SFM and literally the transition to Blender was so amazing thanks to my prior experience with SFM. SFM uses roughly the exact same keyframing system albeit with different controls. There’s no reason not to. You have so much more control over everything in Blender.
>>679975I dont want to kill my GPU, thanks
>>679978>being this retarded
>>679978But I-It doesn’t run on GPU by default. Literally there’s nothing stopping you besides your own fear of not being able to learn.
SFM is fundamentally better than blender for the kind of animation people do in it because of the unique way it handles motion as "samples" rather than using typical keyframes, which makes space switching and animation layering infinitely easier
Too bad Maya is unpopular. Maya animating UI is almost the same as SFM.Fuck Blender.
>>680153>Too bad Maya is unpopularOnly unpopular among assblasted jealous blendlets
>>680153Maya unpopular? It just doesn't have a good social media strategy and Blender has a loud online fanbase. Maya is the tool of choice for almost all pro animators.
>>6801533ds max* is unpopularI don't think I've come anyone who actually likes it over modo and the like
>>680153What are you smoking?
I was commissioned a model, I took the job, and commissioned another artist half the price for the same job, and then was tipped.
>>679575I pretend to know more about 3d than I actually do and just Google everything when someone asks me a 3d question.
>>679582drawing takes practice. I've thought the same.
>>680286It would be interesting if you were being used in the exact same way, As in the guy who commisioned you was just looking for someone else to do it cheaper.
>>680286No reason to feel ashamed, an ex lead of a local game studio was known for doing that shit. You're just a lead kind of guy!
>>680821>an ex leadWhat's she doing now?
>>679575Instead of actually making 3D stuff, I go on /3/ and yawp all day about why my software of choice is better than others. And I'm not even sure why I keep doing it.
I keep thinking about using the Unity engine to make ultraviolent or fetish animation for quick cash.I am not into 3DCG porn or edgy for the sake of edge and yet I think about making it just for quick profit.
>>680826Laid off, looking for the next sucker. Was with the company for a few years, so I guess that's a decent run.
>>680828I assume this is the case for 90% of people here, judging by the posts.
>>680896Yeah, most people here seem to be very insecure about their skills/lack of thereof or the software they use.
