Hi guys. I'm fairly new to the whole 3D modelling world, so I would like to ask you, what is this kind of design called, the way the leg is made?

Wireframe? "We didn't have enough material to do the whole thing so we just printed the edges"? Fuck it, let's go with "cyberpunk".

Nanomachines, son.

In the fog as I am I see, still thanks for the help. I'm going for the lightweight, yet sturdy material....using ASP-P.

Wireframe did it, thanks man.

/3/ surprisingly isn't the best board for 3D printing DIY has a good general thread on 3D printing

I think it's supposed to look like deep learning driven generative design but seems to be just made by someone to look visually 'cool' and futuristic instead of practical.

I have no idea why people even come to /3/ to ask about 3D printing. Our board's name is 3DCG, 3D Computer Graphics. It makes sense that we aren't a place that discusses 3D printing because we're all too busy arguing about fucking software or whatever.

Usually people who want you start printing aren't too familiar with CGI, the board is called 3D(CG) it makes sense people come here looking for 3D printing advice. It honestly might be a good idea to migrate the 3D printing thread on DIY to here.

tfw work at a generative design company but also use blender
