>>674936I work in LA and have some amazing Gnomon bro stories. Avoid it just watch youtube
>>674936they were synonymous with "quality" some time agonowadays it's pajeet education centre tier with occasional specks of gold in piles of shit
>>674936im not sure if theyve ever been good. i downloaded a face modeling tutorial from them once, and the instructor unironically said that the best way to model a face was from a subdivided cube
>>674972>the instructor unironically said that the best way to model a face was from a subdivided cubehe tried to teach you the patrician way zbrush cowboy
>>674936They're fucking expensive but not sure if they are that worth it.
>>674974why not just use the whole cylinder for the mouth and eyes method? it seems like that is better topology, compared to box modelling
>>674936Depends what you study and specialise in,if it's character modelling then stay the fuck away
>>674936mid 00s tutorial are pure kino.most of the modern stuff is total shit. zbrush tutorial by some chick is probably the most useless tutorial i've seen in my life. and they charge money for that, imagine.
>>675210this
>>675210I still remember one from the early 00's where this comicbook line artist spent a good portion of the tutorial talking shit about colorists.
>>674972what was the date on that video? Gnomon has been around for a long time.
>>675238early to mid 2000s. the instructor was using XP, so fairly old
Let's hear some Alex Alvarez stories.
I remember hearing Alvarez smoke during a tutorial. They have some talented people but they are overrated.Once you seen how organized and to the point Peter Stammbach is, it's hard to respect other people in the tutorial business. Though Ryan Kingslien is very good.
Good if you go for the tutorials by the Titans like Alex, Feng or the few Michael's Still better than just about all the tutorial providers out there. A shame you guys will never get to see a lot of the good old tutorials long removed from even cgp.
>>675210>mid 00s tutorial>>675213>>676329I still remeber those days, like the one where the instructor accidentally had an x force keygen genrator open on his desktop, conceptart.org was still one of the biggest things back then too, great times.
