Does anyone have a working download for the Blender FLIP fluids addon that I can just drop in my scripts folder like anything else? I remember seeing one floating around here a few months ago but it just returned an error message- I've also heard some nonsense about compiling it from github which is too convoluted for me. I want instant gratification and I want it now, for free
>>671136>>I want instant gratification and I want it now, for freeNormally I would help out and post the link but that level of entitlement makes me want to tell you to go fuck yourself and to suck my dick

Here is your free FLIP fluids "plug-in", my dude: https://www.sidefx.com/products/houdini-apprentice/
>>671165Not that anon...I'm trying to expand my 3d knowledge to some other programs, and Houdini is the next piece of the puzzle as it were. I see there's some shit about watermark and stuff when rendering, and some other caveats about it being the free version. Can you still export the files to use in other rendering engines, or are you fixed to just Houdini? If anything I guess it'd be alright to learn from (which is what it's for).
>>671210>Can you still export the files to use in other rendering enginesYes, but you are limited in formats. Alembic is a no-go, IIRC. You can use OBJ and I believe some others, but those are a pain to use with animation, admittedly. It still can be done, though. Some scripting in Blender (which I haven't tried to do, however) might help with importing OBJs frame by frame and turning them into an animation. You can also do everything inside Houdini and render in Mantra, and then cut off the watermark, although the morality of doing this is up to you.
>>671210You can export openvdb without problems, but that's only good for smoke and fire.Just crack this biatch.
>>671278Gently reminder that it is good to not crack software from companies that treat their client base fairly.
>>671214>You can also do everything inside Houdini and render in Mantra, and then cut off the watermark, although the morality of doing this is up to you.Yeah I guess that could work too. I could use compositing tricks if I really needed to get it on something. I think it's limited in resolution, but you could still do some hacky shit and stitch multiple renders together.I'm guessing fbx is off the table too though. >>671278I would, but I've been moving away from doing that sort of thing. Not because it's morally wrong, but honestly I'm just tired of it. Dealing with sketchy sites, even sketchier cracks, blocking ET's ability to phone home. It's just easier to grab a student version or similar and just do it through normal channels. That said, I still grab things from time to time from CGPeers.

>>671333>I'm guessing fbx is off the table too though.Yep, sadly it is.>you could still do some hacky shit and stitch multiple renders togetherNever tried that, but I suppose using the camera plane offset to render different sections of the final image, and stitching them together in Fusion or similar, would be pretty straightforward.
>>671136thanks for bringing this one to my attention and making me do such an impulse purchase...
