Whats the best version to use?Every time i decide to get back into blender the latest versions hotkeys are different.I dont want to learn a new version of blender all the time.
>>670478Most stable rn is 2.79. 2.8 is still in beta, but it's always an option too.Alternatively, you can learn other programs if you don't want to learn new versions of Blender.
>>670500Are there any other GOOD free programs?
>>670506Anything is free if you know where to look.
>>670515No, you have to pay for subscriptions for other programs, no way around it
>>670522No you really don't have to pay for them, that was the point you retard.
>>670478Depens on the addons that you want now basically, I miss retopoflow uv align distribute and Easy Lattice, the workflow is almost the same, you could have a couple of crash with the 2.8 too sometimes ....
>>670506If you want to use them commercially this won't work for you, but there are many programs that offer free, learning versions. 3ds, Maya, Houdini...
>>670522Lemme spell it out for you. P I R A C Y. Clearly you aren't a professional, and until you are, you'd never have to worry about getting caught. Or, oh, I don't know, get the THREE year trial of Maya, thats independent of each version so it's basically always free if it's not commercial work.Really though just go with blender 2.8, they won't be changing any keyboard shortcuts for a while after this, other than some suddle ones, and even then most shortcuts haven't changed anyways, I don't actually know what the problem is. Just stick with the program and actually learn it, you won't get anywhere by quitting.
Just change the keymapping preset to whatever you used in the last version of blender. You can export your layout somewhere in the preferences. I usually just change it to the Blender 2.7X preset.
