1. They released on a system that doesn't deal well with heavy contrast so the lighting engine they went with produces flat looking visuals

2.They went with a generic art direction that reinterprets the low poly models of the original game instead of doing what they should've done and more faithfully recreate the look and feel of the original 90's graphic novel art style.

Unmatched in raw aesthetic and a lot of fun in general with good item and ability design, but full of issues elsewhere. Enemies and combat are sadly weak, the Great Sea is empty with most islands as tiny one-off puzzles or cookie-cutter clones, Triforce Shard hunting was lazy and a missed opportunity and reveals Nintendo's obsession with terrible characters (Tingle). Greatfish Island was cut, Fire Mountain and Icerink Island were diminished, two whole dungeons were lost, boss rematch padding. A lot to be improved in spite of its glorious visuals and design.

It's been 21 years since Nintendo started making 3D Zelda games and there hasn't been one without one or more outstanding flaws. By contrast ALttP is still a perfect 2D title and LA, MC and even the Oracles or ALBW are flawless within their own scopes. Says something about Nintendo.

I really hate how Link look so naive and gullible in the remake. In the original he had a serious look on his face, like he really understood that something was going on.

Having to redo boss battles when going back in time kinda was a pain in the ass and not being able to use the super saiyan mask outside the final boss battle was a missed opportunity too. It was also 6-8 hours shorter than OoT. Otherwise i agree.

Its more vibrant, because all the background objects use stronger colors for that scene in N64.
What is more puzzlig is why most modern games have so extremely washed out palettes. There might be a bright color in there, but genrally its pink instead of red, grey instead of black, and so on.

The problem is that current LCD screens (esp. LCD TVs) are shit at dealing with dark colors.
