Blender 2.78:
Can i change amount of light bounces while i'm already rendering a scene? I'm halfway trough an animation and realized that i left the light bouncing amount on 6 ( unnecessarily high for my scene). Will it corrupt my video file or even start all over again when i decrease it during the render? (image is obviously an example)

Chances are that the render engine shuts off most rays before reaching six bounces because of their low energy. Or is this not true of Cycles?

I would believe so. Cycles is an unbiased render engine.

@OP: Nope. Gotta rerender it.

I don't think early termination is exclusive of biased engines. I looked around a bit and found that Cycles has a 'light_sampling_threshold' setting for early termination when sampling lights, but couldn't find anything about indirect bounces.
