Will presenting in tool bag help me get a job?
>>655479eevee literally put marmoset out of business
>>655480Welp. That's enough internet for tonight.
>>655494Prove me wrong.
>>655494>denial
>>655480>>655480Eevee looks like budget UE4, and Marmoset still looks better than eevee.
>>655572marmoset and ue4 dont have any modelling features. They arent generalized tools.
>>655479>Will presenting in tool bag help me get a job? When you'll present well made models, it probably will.Cuz if you have shit models, no rendering engine can help that.>>655480Not yet. It might in the future, but it hasn't reached that level of quality yet.
>>655598Not exactly true for UE4, but regardless, that's not the point. You model in whatever (Blender is acceptable), then present in the target engine or in a recognized viewer (such as Marmoset/Sketchfab). Nobody cares much about what it looks like in Eevee, because not even Nintendo will be using it.
>>655621Nintendo uses proprietary software on proprietary hardware thats so far behind NDAs you cant even write a tutorial about how to use their stuff
>>655479It's great for presenting characters and maybe certain assets, but above all else you need to show that you can achieve the same if not better results in engine.
>>655621>>655627So basically what you lads say is, we need to aim at unity\UE4\lumberyard to present our stuff?
>>655632eevee is a realtime rendering engine. Look at the keynote.
>>655625That didn't stop the Blender Foundation from making Eevee.
>>655646Eevee has nothing to do with nintendo the company
i like how blender has an answer to every app in the industry. marmoset gets backed off by eevee. arnuld gets backed off by cycles. maya gets backed off by blender.
>>656119It does all these things, but nothing 100% convincing.
>>655647>Eevee has nothing to do with nintendo the companywut? Eevee is IP of Nintendo, it was designed by Ken Sugimoro for Pokemon.
>>656119Maya doesn't get backed off by blender. This is only the case in your imaginary little blender universe. The only software that is kicking maya's but to some degree is Houdini.>marmoset gets backed off by eeveeNo. People will still be using marmoset, because it looks much better than eevee.>arnuld gets backed off by cyclesCycles is a grainy mess, don't even compare it to arnold. Damn it, you blendlets are stupid as fuck.
>>656136it has nothing to do with pokemon
>>656165Eevee is pokemon stupid
>>656165>when zoomers don't even know 1st gen pokemonbaka gajin
>>656175Eevee is a common phrase/word in japan
>>656185Prove it.
>>655480Not a fan of Eevee. I always have a hard time with new Blenders, especially their UI/shortcut changes. Just when Cycles was getting really good too.
>>656175E.E.V.E.E. - Extra Easy Virtual Environment EngineThis is the actual acronym.
>>657975That's something they came up with after the fact.Try that argument in court, see if it flies. (Not that Nintendo will care about Blender anyway, however.)
>>657977sure, no one is arguing that it wasn't inspired and taken from the name of the pokemon, but that doesn't mean it is in any way actually related to Nintendo.
>>657977Lol no court is gonna give a shit about some Pokemon. Get real.
>>658294>>Not that Nintendo will care about Blender anyway
>>655625They actually do use blender. They render the character portraits in smash with it, for some reason.
>>658495>inb4 EEVEE is actually a marketing maneuver by Nintendo
Is it ok if I render my scenes in Marmoset Toolbag instead of renderers like vray or Arnold and set them on sale like that? I just find applying and adjusting the materials + real time render much better and faster than the above renderers, but I want to hear your opinion if thats acceptable
>>658823pls respond, render gods
>>658823Every renderer will expect scene data in different ways. If your market exclusively uses, say, VRay, then use VRay. If your market is broader, what I suggest is that you stick to PBR principles, encode as most info on shading as you can on textures, and give a couple of renders in different engines as an example of how well your textures hold across them. Throwing in your scene already configured for one or two engines is a nice bonus, but, again, this may be not worth the effort if your market is not focused on just a couple of engines.
>>659916*and show a couple of renders
>>655632Yes. If you want to work in the game industry you need to know your way around some a game engine.
>>655479Will Eevee ever reach the glorious level of Memeset Fuckbag?
>>659987I'd say it has surpassed it already, as far as rendering goes. Have you seen the latest demos?
>>659987its far beyond
>>659994>>659996No it's not. Eevee looks like a poor man's unreal/unity. It's very "game-ish" looking. Marmoset almost has the quality of a ray tracing renderer but all in real time. It's much more impressive. If you want to use Eevee you might as well be using Unity 2018/Unreal as they use the same rendering methods but look better.
>>655621Sure, you can model literally in a PBR friendly and HDR lit viewport, no big deal. Useless feature.
>>660033Modeling and look-dev are entirely different things.
>>659916thank you anon
>>658294Just wait until my new rendering engine comes out. I call it Mew. And the next version? Mew2.0
>>655479presenting in whatever you can use to make it look good will help you get a job
>>655479why not just use unity
>>660079unity looks like piss
>>660033>let me move this corner slightl...>OH FUCK MY EYES, GODDAM LIGHTS!!!>FUCK YOU, EEVEE!!!
