What do you use and what do you think is the best program for retopology? dont say blender because its free- if you think blender is the best state why.
>>653084Uh... I use Blender. But that's only because I can't be arsed to try other programs at the moment (just a dumb NEET making dumb shit, so I don't care about "muh indust-reeeeeee")I think it's pretty solid though. I've been following Zacharias Reinhardt's method for retopology, and I find it really easy.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hEHtKH55UsHaven't explored more automated methods because I just want to learn proper topology for myself first.
>>653084Maya's retopology tools are amazing, some of the best I've used.
>>653096as good as 3dcoat or topogun?
>>653084I use Blender because it has Retopoflow 2
>>653084I use sketch-retopo from time to time, it's great but crashes a lothttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-OTl_TtAm1o
>>653177That's fucking great. Thanks for the link
>>653084>dont say blender because its free- if you think blender is the best state why.Because you don't want to deal with an "autodesk representative" and because your options beyond that are limited.
>>653200That >>653177 is free too and not related to Autodesk http://igl.ethz.ch/projects/sketch-retopo/sketch-retopo-license.htmlAlso instant meshes and quadriflowhttps://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hu4NavAy5f4https://github.com/hjwdzh/QuadriFlow/blob/master/README.md
Zremesher because I'm lazy as fuck
I am actually genuinely curious if Zbrush 2018 fixed the dreaded "zremesh" curse. =/
>>653177>>653208That's some impressive shit. Maybe it's time for me to finally stop being a poly-modeling purist
