Genesis 2 import into Blender. We last left our off going for details on the coat. Extruded edges for sleeves then weight painted. but the weight painting is a problem. We have to build our closes around a zero figure t-pose. then when the arms go down then the poorly painted weights round out clothing seams that should be sharp and well defined.so fuck it we say.we plan on exaggerated poses so we will create the sleeve geometry on the fly as needed. let us see how we can detail this coat tonight, brethren from a different motherin.

ok. ill go over this so everyone who has a problem with painting clothes can tune in. while in edit mode, hover with your mouse on anything and click 'L'. this will select the different 'parts' that are within the mesh like clothing. you can also see more options open up in the left panel when you do this.now that you can select individual parts within edit mode, you can also hide or mask certain parts. here is the full list of the controlsH - Hide SelectedShift+H - Hide UnselectedAlt+H - Show AllAlt+B - Clip View, Very usefulAlt+B again - Unclip viewnow, there is another method which i like to use even more is to use 'layers'. you can move something to a new layer by clicking 'M' on the keyboard and you can choose 8 different layers. this isolates your 'piece' to a very specific location, layers.lastly, use the data transfer modifier to 'copy' the weight from 1 piece of clothing to another. this is useful in case you have several layers of clothing. good luck FROND
>>652044cont. if there are no islands in the mesh (which can happen) there are tons of ways to select things with selection tools (better in wireframe mode)Select and deselect multiple vertices by Shift+right-clicking them.Select large groups of vertices by using the Border Select tool (B), Circle Select (C), or Lasso Select (Ctrl+left-click+drag).In Border and Circle Select, left-click and drag your mouse cursor to add to your selection. For Border Select, this action draws a box to define a selection area.Circle Select is sometimes called Brush Select because selection is like painting. Any vertices that you run your mouse cursor over while holding down the left mouse button are selected.Middle-click and drag to subtract from your selection and right-click or press Esc to exit Border or Circle Select. To use Lasso Select functionality, Ctrl+left-click and drag your mouse cursor around the vertices you want to select. Anything within that selection region is added to your selection.
shit guys - I am sleepy. Drifting off at the keyboard. Tomorrow.
Particle sideburns in Blender emitting from a separate mesh just below the skin.
This Blender software is pretty awesome.

be me>a set we will use for testing character models.that just doesn't sound right. back to basics.Hello World.tonight is going to be a late night, already can tell. what to do with this console? most importantly, work on some grunge to give it a worn look.
got to get to the lady. she fell asleep hours ago. before we turn in we should piss the critters.

Now that we have the transporter we should be able to beam Brother Joe onto the ship.
radio is playing some good ones here. got the night off.
we had sets done a long time ago but we want to merge the TOS with Apollo space program, bring the TOS instrument panels and clusters to that retro space program look. at least we can use the cluster assets throughout the sets. so instead of testing the importing of characters onto this set, instead, we have been focusing on the transporter set itself. responsibilities and chores at home, the married life, work, all this gets in the way but those are still higher priorities. I feel bad when I have to leave the lady alone for so long, hiding out up in this small studio room. I tell her how important this work is to myself and Starfleet and she understands. but alas, it is time to rejoin the other world for now.
>>655926software is Blender 2.79 with Genesis 2 Male imported for hair and clothing work. guess we could spend weeks combing the Internet for assets on this model but we are saving time being able to model exactly what we want. been working on Genesis into Blender for a few years, we think we got it, but yesterday I was restricted to instrument clusters and such. today, traditional work outside of Starfleet.
Starfleet Log Confidential: Blender 2.8 Cycles with de-noising on.After finishing the set we imported a basic .obj file into Daz Studio to pose the characters to. Then we exported the .obj of the characters back onto the set in Blender for rendering. We are looking for the coordinates in space and time for our brother, Joe. The only problem we are having in that regard is the hair particle system does not display all the particle systems. They will render but they will not show up in the view port. Starfleet out.
Genesis 3 model for the girl. We found the hair mesh extremely difficult to work with so we followed a few tutorials on hair from curves. Also, the console needed heat escape vents. The hair we have for Hanna now is suitable for production. Depth of field added to render.
We have tuned our instrument and decrypted the coordinates. We are locked in. Repeat: we are locked in.Starfleet out.
Posing Genesis 2 Male.
Exaggerate expression with sculpt mode. Started the clothes. Tomorrow the coat. It is time for us to retire to our quarters.
Roughing in the coat to the pose using edit mode first. Then we will sculpt the details. Starfleet out.
INCREASE POWER AND NARROW THE STREAM!
>>658937Don't render if there are intersections. Or fix it and re-render.
On behalf of the United Federation of Planets and the men and women of Starfleet: we welcome the gathering of our brothers and sisters in 2019.

>>659166his stuff is set in the original series, while holodecks didnt appear until the tng/picard era, so its just creative autistic freedom
>>659115do you just pose this by yourself?nice work
>>659166You will get used to it, woman.
>>659184there are no women on 4chan
>>659180It is a Genesis 2 posed in DAZ Studio. If you export in .fbx then Blender can pick up the rig. Peace out, happy Blendering.
>>659184Stop calling everybody a woman. Yourself included.
>>659186why don't you use poser?
>>659207Mainly because we do not like running cracking software. Totally giving up my rig, can't do it.
Let us see how we can tweak the character into this pose.
