Noob here. How can i animate some flickering lights/maybe the train? I was thinking about taking a screenshot series like:
>Light colour on
>light colour off (including 'splash/bounce' on ground)
>flick between images fast and make a gif

But that seems too clunky. Is there a simpler way?

What program are you using? With blender you can simply use keyframes to change the light power and then add a noise curve modifier in the graph editor.
