Back in 2011 a guy on polycount talked about his nightmarish encounter with this dev of this game called "The End Of The Beginning" which was a Crysis knock off. Long story short the guy on polycount had made a portfolio piece and this one guy wanted him to join in his game but aggressively wanted his portfolio piece. The guy told him to piss off after realizing how bad his offer was but then this guy sent this threatening email about how he would be blacklisted and how dare he not work on his masterpiece.

When people on polycount start looking into that game and the company they stumble upon this horroshow of gamedev. The website had the main character sculpt which just looked amateur as hell but had this big bold letters:
RENDER COMPLETE
And talked about this character model had 10,000 man hours dedicated to it. This quickly created a thread on /3/ and made memes mocking the project.

It gets worse, the game previews were just an absolute clusterfuck of clashing styles, particle effects, bloom and art direction that made no sense. There were some other people who formerly worked for them and said how it was a disaster and nobody knew what they were doing and the lead of the whole thing was this arrogant ideas guy who also had all this grant money and whatnot.
