I never really liked RWBY, loved dead fantasy for the dumb fun choreography it was, and find that his animations ultimately end up being self-masturbatory fantasy/eye candy, but holy shit if the guy wasn't a genius and my number 1 inspiration for animating fights, my secret dream is to one day animate similar fight scenes, but if there's anything i'd change, is to try and give it more engaging storylines with stakes embedded into the fights rather than "hey they beat up and then there's no consequences because this is all fun and games", i'd probably add some edgy shit context to it but hopefully not too cringy.
Is there anyone that comes even close to his style nowadays?

Without all the spastic shaky cam it would probably just be a lot of simple choreography.
