https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6wtw6W4x3IWhy am i just now reading about it? This is a free and open-source program that does quad remeshing like the tools you have in zBrush. It's easy to use and can handle dense meshes, even point-clouds from scanner data. The page says the very same algorithm has been integrated in Modo.https://github.com/wjakob/instant-meshes
>>643537I tried it and it's not that great. Maybe it got updated from the last time I used it but it had a hard time getting quad flows correctly.
Consider this other one, too. I've done a couple of quick tests out of curiosity, and it handled the geo better than Instant Meshes. However, if I remember right, it doesn't support manually directing edge flow. I still prefer ZBrush's algorithm, though.
>>643543Is there an implementation of this one anywhere?
>>643551Yes. Search the title of the paper and you'll find it.
>>643543>it doesn't support manually directing edge flowThat's the no no part.Retop in Mudbox etc works great when you can say add this loop here etc, without that it's meh and better off retopping manually.
>>643537In the end, your retopologist is key and deserves the highest pay.
>>643537has this been updated ever?I've tried this for some time ago, and it kinda sucks ))
>>643577Hi, it's your retopologist here. I'm still waiting for that paycheck. I'm giving you one last week. If by then you still haven't paid, everything will be tris forever.
>>643557I can only find the binaries, can anyone build and upload this somewhere?
>>643582>trusting binaries from a random AnonAnyway, I don't know if this will work on your system, but it's what I got.files DOT fm SLASH u SLASH hcgaz9x6
