Even Blendets admit the donuts could use some work:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCl3Hyb09T0
>>
One hour and a half of what is basically a virtual donut glazing contest. The Blender community, man...
>>
the end result is terrible
>>
>>638642
>>638646
>>638650

Imagine being so fucking dumb and retarded that you legitimately don't understand that it's meant to be a tutorial to teach you the basics and beginner shortcuts to the program
>>
>>638650
Terrible or not, still better than Andrew.

>>638646
Donuts, XNA, we're a number all right.
>>
>>638642
>that voice
>that accent
>that terrible video editing
>terrible pacing
>terrible organization
>thinking that exceeding the scope of the source material "improves" upon it
What a waste of time.
>>
>>638658
Yeah it is a tutorial but Blendlets dont ever seem to progress much beyond the donut
>>
>>638929
What about the anvil?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yi87Dap_WOc

I'd Bring up CGCookie, but most Blendets can't seem to afford it, nor do they know how to pirate something.
>>
>>638658
It's typical.
Idiots don't understand what makes a good teacher.
There's no problem in stuffing your lessons with info how to make something "rreeeaally coooool" but then nothing fucking sticks. People who don't get this are not teachers.
>>
>>638959
You act as if he's the only teacher with blender. But yeah, yeah, believe whatever bullshit you need to for your agenda
>>
>>638929
Where do you browse for this information? Just because you have a limited worldview doesn't mean others do. Just because you're close-minded doesn't meant the rest of the world thinks the same.
>>
>>638969
>as if he's the only teacher with blender
Where exactly did I say this?
Are you obsessed with that guy?
>>
I use blender, but this community is really cancerous. Can't fucking stand donuts and anvils anymore
>>
>>638675
i meant andrew's. the end result of the tutorial is just bad.
he is fucking bad in general. all he does is model and then plaster polilgon textures on his assets. he is a a really average artist
>>
>>640070
can you link any tutorial that does more than that?
>>
>>640078
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNhN3X3MvD4
>>
>>640070
Probably should have elaborated on that.
>>
>>640067
I hope you don't mean real donuts. It would be tragic if being exposed to a daily influx of Blonuts would make you hate the real thing.

and where is the BTFO?
>>
>>640124
elaborate? m8
the donut just looks bad. the cream looks like plastic, the bun looks like a toy. the materials are all wrong. and even if he did get the material right he would still have to make textures, which you can still make using only blender.
as for andrew being bad. yeah, he used a pre-made displacement map to create a snowy track. which his team made for him, so that cuts the process by a good 50%
>>
>>640187
it's a tutorial for complete beginners
also, the rolling dice animation tutorial you linked doesn't look good either, at all
>>
>>640194
at least the dice looks real
>>
>>640187
No, I meant you should have elaborated you meant that Andrew's donut was bad, not the one I linked to.
>>
>>640067
The Blender community, /3/ or both?
>>
>>640218
i meant only andrew's
>>
>>640221
Ah.

Thanks. Andrew's a hack with tutorials and is only good for Polligon.
>>
It's not the community, it's one lonely autist probably from Australia. The board is so slow that one retard can pretend to be many.
>>
>>640274
Does that mean all of /3/ is this one Australian faggot?

Makes you think, doesn't it?
>>
>>638959
Are you retarded? Those tutorials are great because it teaches you everything you need to know before you start getting creative. By the time you're done with them and made some models, you can move onto the real good, more advanced stuff at CGCookie.
