Buzz lightyear to the rescue!
>>
This is a comfy thread

this comes from, to this day, still the best video on youtube

Pretty sure a lot of people in /3/ don't know how to animate properly. Pretty much why in the other thread they focused on things they could critique to make up for not knowing anything. Just let them have this so they can feel better about themselves.

I believe he's a troll, posting the way he does just to trigger us. If he really wanted honest criticism, he would go to the arguably best place for the sort of thing he's doing, Polycount.
>>
>>637344
You're right. I realized how much of a troll he was after browsing around more.
Though to be fair even at that point people giving legitimate criticisms and completely avoided anything having to do with the animation and why exactly it was bad aside from just simply stating it.
>>
>>637249
Any reason why you make a new thread to post your work in progress instead of posting in the actual work in progress thread?
>>
>>637249
It looks good, but arcady, dunno if that's what you're going for. Also some of the transitions are too linear, like the aiming down sights and holstering

OP here. not a troll, you are the only intelligent person here. Everyone else completely ignores the topic at hand.
>>
>>637411
Op here. I Appreciate it, in engine it will look better due to setting up blendspaces. For presentation, 100% gotta make that look better thank you!
>>
Before you ask: no its not tribble AAEEE.

Not even close.
Why don't you copy a better reload animation from somebody who knows what he is doing.
I mean that seriously, go copy a reload animation from Call of Duty or Escape from Tarkov or whatever.
>>
>>637502
I was inspired by call of duty's MPL reload for this one, but I still got a long while before I'm as good as them. May I ask what is wrong with it, so I can fix particular things?

>Implying he knows what he's talking about and is able to point out the errors instead of comparing you to industry standard animation like a drooling retard
>>
>>637590
OP here... to be fair he only compared me to that because I have asked so many times in the past...
>>
Have you ever done some other animation exercises? I'd like to see something other than reloads.
>>
>>637593
Well, let me tell you one thing. I don't know much about gun animations but I have been animating for a while, but when he settles the gun for aiming it stops abruptly. If you replicate the motion in real life with your hands or pretty much any object with weight, depending on how heavy it is it takes longer for the arms to recoil. Good thing there are muscles to stop the object pretty quickly. Thing is your hands still recoil because of the sudden stop.

If he's pulling it out quickly one or two closely spaced bounces should be fine. If he's pulling it out normally I'd say the spacing should be a bit more spread out because there isn't any use of the muscles to stop it from carrying out it's ideal path of motion.
>>
>>637595
OP Here, could you keep watch of my channel, or the threads I post? I'm doing another gun one but after that I'm thinking of character movement, if you wanna keep watch for that! :)

>>637596
You are very right about the 'bounce' that I add, I commonly don't know how to space them appropriately, but you have helped me see that generally "Slow movement, slower bounce, fast movement, fast bounce"
That legit comes in handy, I deal with this a tonne doing these animations!! Thank you!
