It's the reason I didn't get 3D Coat. I don't want to be vulnerable to arbitrary license cancellations. However, if what you are going to sculpt involves, in general, destruction of life and property (e.g. war), the owners of 3D Coat seem to be fine with it.
>>637238Well, this saves me from spending $270+ more on the pro license. How is ZBrush Core compared to Sculptris?
>>637237Don't care...I sculpt tittays wherever whenever I like
>>637296But you gotta hide the fact you used 3D Coat for it, or, even worse, lie and say you used Blender. That ain't a way to live, son.
Dear customer,It has come to our attention that you have used our program to create some pieces involving attractive women, with the certainly unintended, but unfortunate consequence of giving some of us at the studio quite noticeable hard-ons.As a result, we regrettably are forced to revoke your license. This decision is final and we won't be able to grant you another license in the foreseeable future. We, nonetheless, with you the best of luck in your endeavors.Praised be,3D Coat Team
>>637296OI BRUV! GOT YA TIT LOICENSE?
>>637237Yes, the developer is a christian fundamentalist who thinks nudity made with his software will send him to hell, were satan is waiting to rape his ass with a giant cock. Use Zbrush instead.
>>637326Not just one, but the whole team at Pilgway. Even the name of the company shows their ideology -- I mean, it probably stands for "The Way of the Pilgrim" or something like that.
>>637376>We would be really happy if 3DCoat could be used to create beautiful works of art to inspire and bring joy, and not provoke hatred, aggression to people, wizardry, witchcraft, addiction or carnality. We are mostly Christian team, so this question is especially sharp for us because we know that God's law treats hatred as murder and infidelity in mind as real adultery, and consequences of our sins influence the whole life. and I love how it just goes downhill from there and starts rambling about Our Lord God And Savior Jesus Christ>As well if you want to get rid of any dependence (drugs, alcohol, games, sexual) or you have any serious desease, tell Jesus Christ that you are unable to solve the problem and ask Him seriously at the place where you are now. what the hell i'm just trying to find a new sculpting program not the way of the lord>If you have questions about faith please send us an email at email@example.com good lord
>>637381WTF i now feel the strong urge to sculpt the Goat of Mendes in an Black Mass setting with beautiful sorceress who are addicted to stuffing hateful and aggressive electric eels in their already dripping wet pussies while sacrificing a baby seal. On a serious note: anybody here in this thread actually believes that they have the power to enforce these arbitrary rules? These are wishes at best. Their freedom to live whatever religion they desire does not triumph your artistic freedom and freedom of expression in general.
>>637376>>637381>>637407It's a private company, so it's A-OK. If you disagree then vote with your wallet. This is how it works in capitalism.
>>637407>anybody here in this thread actually believes that they have the power to enforce these arbitrary rules?I don't really know, IANAL. But if it's like with any other EULA, they could cancel your license for infringement of a morals clause or some shit like that.Whatever the case is, and in line with what >>637422 points out, I'm not comfortable investing in a product whose owners are arguably a bit nutty. Technical merits aside, I can't trust them with guiding their product along a path that makes sense from a business standpoint.
>>637381LOL I genuinely thought it was made up at first Holy shit it's real.
So this is obviously the face of /3/
>>637237so this is what /3pol/ use, amen
>>637237How are they going to revoke your shit? They would have to find out who you are, what you made, detwrmine if you used their software to create it, determine if its somwthing they arbitrarily decide that its too lewd my dude, what name or email or info you used to buy their license etcI guarantee you, if they actually pulled someone's license for what they arbitrarily decide is in violation of their tos in this way, the fallout will be bad. Like bankruptcy at worst and changes to their tos at best. Also, how are they going to revoke your license if you pirated their software? There are just too many factors to the point that I think they just have this so the can admonish themselves of guilt for being God fear'n chrischans.I have an amateur license and love the software, and I plan to upgrade sometime in the future, and if they ever grab the stones to follow all the way through with this ridiculous clause, me and I think many others will simply pirate the software and exclusively sculpt scenes of satanic devil goat orgies with a nice little "made exclusively with 3d coat" stamped clearly visible in each one.Make what you want they aren't going to do Jack shit>>637237
>>637422Its not ok. They try to bully people out of their freedom of expression. I don't care because in the EU their fantasy EULA means nothing, but i still vote with my wallet by not buying, but pirating. In the end they only hurt themself. >>637430>they could cancel your license for infringement of a morals clauseNo they cannot. And it never happened. But i can totally understand not wanting to give this people money.
>>637446>I'm an entitled POS
>>637452If you are creating tools for artist, you are not entitled to influence what the user of the tool creates.
>>637457Agnostic, edgy fgt
OP Here.I decided to get the new ZBrush Core 2018. I bought the shit-tier Wacom CTH690TK Intuos 3D as it comes with ZBrush Core which is upgrade-able to 2018 for free. I ended up paying about $160 out of pocket.I had previously picked up 3D-Christ amateur when it was on sale at Steam, as well as the whole Substance package.
>>637522>Wacom CTH690TK Intuos 3D as it comes with ZBrush Core which is upgrade-able to 2018 for freeWait what? You can upgrade the ZBrush Core to regular ZBrush for free?
pirates does not have these problems
>>637354if only zbrush and adobe cs would implement this feature
>>637525No, I mean the original ZBrush Core license was for the older version of ZBrush Core. Pixologic made it so that any version of ZBrush Core you have is automatically updated to the latest version of ZBrush Core which is ZBrush Core 2018.
>>637525So, I paid $20 extra and got a Medium Intuos Creative Pen and Touch
>>637237Amy is that yooooooooooooooou
>>637237>Revoke licenseHow the fuck is this even legal in the first place? I never understood how software companies don't get roasted for this, it's like a car company taking back your car if they find out you drove it in a way they don't like.
>>637381Wow.. I thought this was mostly a joke... jeez these guys are shiteaters.. they deserve to be pirated.. religion is the fucking biggest disease we'll ever have.. Of courze all Flateartheds are religious fanatics..
>>638037Because a car is a material thing and a license is not. It's more like the government revoking your driving license if they find out you drove in a way they don't like.
>>637381I've already pirated 3DCoat, now I feel the strong urge to make a dick snuggled between a nice big pair of titties.
>>638648Don't be silly, sculpt this instead.
>>637446Its their software, they can do whatever they like with it. You don't get to tell a private company how it conducts business. However, as other anons have pointed out they would face a pretty big backlash from users if they started revoking licenses, and would have to deal with whatever consequences they're are from that. Free market baby.
OUR HOLY LORD MADE MAN IN HIS IMAGE AND F*MALE AS A FAILED BUT STILL LOVED DERIVATIVE FROM THAT IMAGETHEREFORE IT IS HERETICAL TO RESTRICT PAINTING HOLY IMAGES OF LORD'S DESIGN AND 3D COAT AUTHORS ARE SINNERS AND WILL GO TO HELLAMEN
>>638694Pose as an honest believer, word that politely as a question, and ask them through their email for faith-related bug reports. If they reply, don't forget to post it here.
>>638709Not that anon, but if they ever contacted me because I sculpt genitalia, I would first assure them that it is not their sin, but mine so they don't need to worry, and if they tell me I'm going to go to hell or some shit, I would tell them that SATAN WAS GUIDING MY COCK!
>>638709the only question I will ask to them if I ever bother is whether they follow "ukrainian" schism or true orthodoxy. if the answer is first, this will make them heretics and sinners by default and invalidate any opinion they might have about faith.
>>638791>implying faith can be true or false
