I logged into do some work and I got hit with this bullshit. I CAN'T USE THE PROGRAM. What the fuck is this bullshit?
>>636310Blender doesn't have this problem
>>636358clara doesn't have blender problems
>>636358But it has the Blender problem.
>>636364Blender is bug free and has the most efficient and powerful tools of any 3d package. Fact.
>>636369being this deludedprobably never used anything else than Blunder
>>636310Stallman warned us about this.
>>636310does the "LT" stand for "less than"? because even autodesk know that maya is less than blender?
>>636647Interesting. I dialed that number up and Ton Roosendaal answered.
>>636418stripped down version of Maya for games, cheaper subscription
>>636369Unfortunately it has one of the worst UI ever conceived which make it so useless the company I work for rather spend thousands a year on 3$s max. Why doesn’t blender just fix their fucking UI?
>>636708They are. Check the 2.8 update.
>>636708>doesn't know what he's talking about>has so much confidence he still come across as stupid>easier to complain than to do actual work and research
>>636310Holy shit I am never using anything but pirated shit now
>>636369blender is also job-free, faggot
>>636920>she thinks that her choice of career will still be relevant once the commies take over and """overthrow capitalism""". we'll all be farming turnips, anon-kun.
>>636938>he thinks that the Blender Foundation is not a part of the commies' plan
>>636920unless you are doing animation or sim, or working in automotive, no one gives a single fuck what modeling suite you use as long as you can model to the same quality and speed, and export and receive the same file types.rigging, animation, and sim are hugely pipeline dependent. most modeling ends up being exported to zbrush and substance and then be thrown into an engine or a renderscene anyways. we've had a few guys who are blender pros, usually independent contractors we bring on for occasional jobs. it doesn't interfere with our pipeline at allalso, small business emplyers love people who can use blender because its one less license they have to pay for. granted the maya licenses arent that bad, but things like alias or catia can be upwards of 50k a seat (im not saying blender can replace a surfacing CAD software, i dont have any frame of reference for that)
>>636920LMAO Blender eternally BTFO
>>636920muh job lol
>>636955>and export and receive the same file types.Something that, with Blender, you can't do.
>>636971what file types cant it handle? as far as i know it can handle obj's and other similar exportables. sure, it cant handle proprietary files like maya or max scene files, but in most scenarios where you are just doing modeling you arent exporting entire scenes anyways, just individual meshs and texture files and stuff.like i was saying in my post, if you are doing work that involves sim, rigging, animation, or other work that is going straight into the render, then yeah, you dont want to use blender unless you are working in a blender pipeline (which is rare), but if you are just modeling to export to an engine or a secondary program like zbrush, or recieving high poly meshes from zbrush to retopo, then blender will do just fine and no one will give a fuck if you use it (unless you try to give them blend files or blender is causing you to work slow, then its a problem)
>>637111>what file types cant it handle?Let's see:FBX, only binary is supported, ASCII isn't.Alembic, the importer is purportedly borked, but I don't have an .abc file to check.OpenVDB at all, which is a major bane as it is stupidly powerful and is being used by all the industry dogs.
>>637119Oh yeah, FBX is the only proprietary file format in that list, but Autodesk has SDKs released for it and the Blender Foundation's just a bunch of idiots that don't want to properly integrate it into Blender, rather jury-rigging their own specification.Alembic is open-source, and OpenVDB has it right in the name.
>>637120Blender Foundation would integrate FBX just fine if it wasn't Autodesk who had a vested interest in constantly breaking compatibility and having people being completely dependent on their upstream.
>>637122Blender Foundation would integrate FBX just fine if they made a bridge between the SDK and Blender. But no, they prefer to reverse engineer a proprietary (!) format, and leave open formats (Alembic, OpenVDB, USD) on the backburner. What good do they think they are doing this way?
>not using a cracked exe
>>636708>has one of the worst UIThis is objectively false. Blender 2.79 has one of the best user experiences and interfaces of all digital art platforms. You want bad, check out 3ds max and maya's "lets show you irrelevant shit and hide all the commonly used stuf xddd'
>>638357>You want bad, check out 3ds max and maya'LOL, the Blendlets ('best 3d app") are similarly deluded like the Grimes Fags ("best musician in the world") on /MU
>>638357I'll pick any Autodesk shit over Blender's "okay your scene was saved. what?, you also wanted the textures saved? too late for that lolol".
>>638361Unless you have more than one scene, you don't save scenes, you save the blend file.>you want the textures saved. You make textures outside of blender unless you mean bakes of which you can even set it up to auto export them. Unless you mean you did painting in blender, then never saved the image and then packed it into the file.Of which hey, thats like saying MAya/3ds should save the render that you didn't save to an image when you close and re-open.
>>637148but blender includes support for alembic and openvdb? just add a particle or fluid sim and set it to use an external cache and point it at the files.
>>638400The Alembic importer is pretty buggy at the moment. OpenVDB support only exists for smoke and fire sims.
>>636310Try launching offline. If that fails you'll have to either wait until the licensing issue is resolved, or contact Autodesk on a weekday. Subscription is a bitch.
>>638358ok I'm tired of you people. its not. its not as easy to use as 3ds max or maya.but its free, and therefore I'm going to use it anyway. who even the fuck cares, this board is full of raging neckbeard spergs who fight over what fucking 3d modeling program to use.
>>636708>what are hotkeysBlender is lighting fast.
>>639036I need to know correct you: these are not "3d modeling" softwares, these are fucking complete 3d animation packages. Are you this stupid you fucking think everything revolves around making a shitty model? This is why you are an amateur and will never learn anything substantial. Quit your hobby, you are too stupid for it.
>>636708god i wish that were me
>>636708Have you even used Blender? It's the most intuitive user interface I've ever experienced. You just need to keep one hand on the home row and another on the mouse. $30 in paid plugins could put it on par with zBrush, too. Many may claim rigify is buggy, but when you actually know what you're doing it's better than Maya. The Game engine is shit though.
>>640454>on par with zBrush>better than MayaAnd people wonder why Blender-fanboys are hated everywhere...
>>640454Typical ignorant blendlet. Blender will never be as good as Zbrush for sculpting. You'd know if you mastered it. And Rigify is shit, nowhere as good as maya. You blendlets need to fuck off.
>>640454>You just need to keep one hand on the home row and another on the mouseAre you saying I can't have one hand free to eat some donuts while I model in Blender?
