I've always been fascinated by the landscapes and maps featured in the Metroid Prime games, and albeit not having ever tried my hand at 3d modelling, I'd like to dive in with the aim of doing something similar.

I though about going with Blender because I'm a total noob and it's free,but where would you suggest to start?

environment tools?

there is 3D modeling which is done in blender and world building (using those models) in unity
this workflow will be all you need to create lowpoly environments. after completing this course the artistic stuff will be up to you
