I've always been fascinated by the landscapes and maps featured in the Metroid Prime games, and albeit not having ever tried my hand at 3d modelling, I'd like to dive in with the aim of doing something similar. I though about going with Blender because I'm a total noob and it's free, but where would you suggest to start?
start with the basics like camera control, modeling, etc.then get to hard surface and environment modeling. google is your friendbtw there is a good course on lynda
>>636078 tywhat's the course you're talking about?
>>636080does it also cover basics of environment tools?
>>636084scratch that I'm fkn dumb. thank you nevertheless
Bump this thread, I seem to be exactly the same person as OP.
>>636084>does it also cover basics of environment tools?environment tools?there is 3D modeling which is done in blender and world building (using those models) in unitythis workflow will be all you need to create lowpoly environments. after completing this course the artistic stuff will be up to you
this is for advanced users mostly but the end result looks really coolhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lu6gsmC1x6shttps://www.udemy.com/3dmotive-learn-modular-environment-building-for-games-with-blender/
