What were you working on?
Learning to do hair. I'm doing that right now.
>>634171poly hair or particle based?
>>634172Poly.
>>6341692001, some direct-to-video garbage with aliens or monsters, post had practically zero budget to work with
>>634169Damn OP, you doing okay?
>>634183That looks good, but a little bit asbestos like.
>>634198Really? 17 years later and you never felt happy when making 3D?
>>634850I don't work in 3D anymore and my own work never turned out the way I hoped or expected. So, yes.
>>634853So, no 3D since then, even as a hobby?
>>634853Occasionally, but no serious stuff. I'm far behind the curve now.
>>634841you mean fiberglass insulation.asbestos is a mineral, and is microscopic when mixed with products--in other words asbestos has no visible properties and you can't make an "asbestos" material.
>>634864Not him, but you replied to yourself. I do that a lot.>>634857There you go.
>>634169Always, but only until I finish the model and post it on the internets. Then the joy turns into a depression when I slowly realize nobody cares and it doesn't matter how much time I spent on it. Happens every time. But I don't quit.
>>634169I'm so depressed and fucked up I can't even sit down and begin learning 3d. And it's all I've been wanting to learn for 15 years now. I'm anxious as fuck and can't shake knowing how long it's going to take me to get good.
I downloaded Blender a week ago. I am mostly just making donuts and getting used to everything for now, but it's really fun.
>>634169Japanese WWII Fighter, THE ZERO!!Was soo much fun, built a aircraft carrier as well, USS Hornet and some battleship guns. All went downhill from there, 3 years ago now.
>>634169GIB MILKIES
>>637970>I am mostly just making donutsI got a good chuckle out of this, because my first foray into 3D was in 1996 with Povray 2.2 and I'd say the first 30 or so renders I did were all various arrangements of donuts in different materials and lighting.
>>637963You'd be amazed how fast the progress comesI'm working on assets for a unity game, and in just half a year I've gone from making terrible slender worthy blocks, to some actually decent pieces. Don't get me wrong, I'm not going to try and tell anyone I'm hot shit or anything, but pic on the right is my first attempt, and the left is the new attempt after less than five months
I'm retopologizing this model, but already made PBR textures for it. How can I project these textures on to the new UVs once I retopo?
>>638439>>638439Shit replied to the wrong thread, well I might as well contribute.Honestly my motivation nowadays is just the money and the things it would allow me to do. I have venture more motivated from money and another from passion and personal stuff
worked on skylanders and made racetracks. that was fun.
>>634183this is missing monster ultra zero
Finally got a chance to use houdini in my work. I did some car exhaust smoke for a shot cause we didn't have any in our stock footage database. Really basic emitter shit but it's a start
