I see a lot of donut hate out here towards blender. Most of it is probably ironic but I assume the hate is for blender and not the tutorial. But if some of you do hate the tutorial, can you recommend to me a better one? I'm just beginning.

CGCookie just started a Blender Basics series. Haven't checked it out (and don't really intend to since I already know how to use Blender), but I've seen the other stuff the host has done and he's decently good at getting stuff across. Might be something of interest.

Andrew is kind of a meh artist but an awesome teacher, whereas say Gleb Alexandrov is an awesome artist and a terrible teacher.You can learn a lot from both, but as a beginner you should start with Andrew. As for "better tutorial", you just flat out need to DO tutorials; you need to chew through them.Every tutorial you do you'll learn new stuff, eventually you'll do an 8 hour tutorial series and only learn one thing but that one thing will end up saving you hours or days of labor compared to doing it "the wrong way".By the way, if you see an "old tutorial" (like 2.78 or so) don't be afraid to do them. The UI is changing but the changes are cosmetic, once you know the techniques (and more specifically keyboard shortcuts) the UI will be irrelevant.
