Does anyone have experience in exporting poses? I've been trying to export .daes with poses but no matter what I try the arm bones always get all messed up. Pic related is in Blender, but I'd like to know a universal fix as well so I can export poses into MD.
>>634009If you're just exporting poses you should use OBJ so it exports at "high res" and has all the JCMs applied.
I really have no idea, any guesses?
>>634047I'm guessing Phoebe Tonkin
>>634047>>634056Seems like the eyes are too high
>>634009>>634010Can you export a daz model in a neutral T-pose with the rig working in Blender? everytime I try tthe figure gets twisted in weird ways like it's being impaled on a wooden stake or something
Since Big Brother in on air again I decided to do a mock up of Julie Chen's face

>>634387Well back to the drawing board then
>>634388That's just one anon's opinion. Can you post a comparison between inspiration and what you made?
>>634389I will with other celeb morphs. I made what I wanted already
Hey boiiiz, it's ya pal Shilly with the deals. Today, DAZ3D's freebies has the Deck The Halls package which includes multiple rooms from the Dream Home package, furnishings and alt texture packs.https://www.daz3d.com/deck-the-halls-bundle-1It's normally $107.60 but until next week, bupkes! Nada! The big goose egg! And when you download it tell 'em Shilly sent ya!
>>634499Thank you based Shilly
>>634500My pleasure, these hairplugs ain't payin' for themselves. If you're looking for contemporary scenes to stick your characters in, over at Renderosity TruForm and greenpots have their sets up to half off until Thursday and Saturday respectively. Dorms, banks, fast food restaurants, bars, libraries, tv studios, universities, home living, furnished classrooms, motels, stadiums, the whole megillah and many with exteriors. TruForm's store only goes on sale about once a year so you wanna catch this while it's there. The rest of the year, just go to his InliteStudios site where he charges less than at Rendo. greenpots: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?uid=13225TruForm: https://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/?uid=641216 and http://inlitestudio.com/3d where you can find decent freebies (with no commercial use restrictions except that stupid Star Wars beach ball robot).
>>634504And before I go, let me remind you of the unusual props at https://poserworld.com most of which are only $2.99, and many of which aren't available elsewhere. Nearly all now come in both Poser/DS and FBX formats. The best categories at PW are Mechanical, Medical & Science, Sports & Hobby, Trees & Plants, Food, and Weapons & Military. Clothing's okay if you don't mind it being for legacy figures. Quite a bit of period props from the late 60s/early 70s.Now, Poserworld had a bum reputation in the past as a subscription service, but they've done away with that and you can't beat their prices. Free 3D download sites like, well, free3d have a number of similar items but their quality is pretty questionable especially in the textures department. Risk three bucks on a prop and see what you think. And that's all for me until the next thread, kids!
>>634545should really try to cure that death thing.
>>634545I would have commented but I couldn't think of a way to say THANKS FOR ALL THE PORN
>>634110You can, but only genesis 3 figures. You gotta export as an FBX
>>634389Been working on a Emma Watson morph on and off. her face is kinda simple so it hard to see what's off for me. Any help?
>>634616>it's hard to see what's off for meThere's quite a bit. Let's start with the eyes. First off, they're too far apart. But rather than drag them in closer, you need to adjust the inner eye length, namely the lacrimals. Then adjust distance from there. For easier referencing, use the visible sclera on either side of the eyes. In your reference image, note how Emma has more inner sclera visible than outer sclera. In your recreation, that ratio is inversed; she has more outer sclera visible than inner sclera. You can also use iris position as reference. Using that, your irises are pointed more inwards, while your reference is pointed more outwards. Lastly, your eyes are still a bit too high.Next is the nose. From what I know about Daz morphs, it's gonna be pretty hard to recreate her type of nose. You have the bridge to bulb width ratio about there, but it's her weird composition of nostril wings that I think you'll have a hard time recreating. In your reference, the wing height is noticeably higher and its shape isn't very round.Moving onto her mouth, your lip thicknesses are almost there. The upper lip should be thinner, once again going off your posted reference. The lower lip needs more outer curvature to create a more V-like shape. Width is almost there, although I think it needs to be thinner. As for facial structure, cheekbones are too wide, chin needs to be more square. Her face is also too round, your reference has more of a V-shaped face.If you have ear morphs, they'll need to be wider with a little curvature to create a kinda "kidney" look, if that makes sense.Other stuff: make sure you have your camera/viewport set to a similar focal length as your references. Typically portraits are composed anywhere from 85-100++mm. Focal length can seriously mess up facial perception.t. autist :)
>>634616what Genesis version?
>>634620I honestly would love to know if this kind of autistic write up helps anyone, except the autist's sense of self-importance.How about you just ignore everything this faggot said and go by intuition. Train your own eye to spot the differences and what you need to change. Devise measurements in photoshop or something; draw lines on the faces and compare and contrast proportions. Train yourself to become self-sufficient so you don't have to placate autists like this guy who just wait for an opportunity to "showcase" their non-existant skillset. And that's actual helpful advice.
>>634620Wow I feel its a lot closer now! I feel I can curve the chin a bit and change the lips a bit. Thanks for your eye. I need some kind of autistic level of detail. I helps in all honesty!
>>6346223 I hate how 8 morphs.
>>634625>>634628Well I guess that answers that. You should still aim for self-sufficiency. If you can't figure problems out on your own you'll get nowhere.
>>634630But getting outside input helps. If you are stuck in a bubble you'll repeat the same mistakes. I like to see what others see.
>>634629so far, I have only noticed problems with expression morphs and G8
>>634631It's one thing to inquire about technical questions, nobody should have a problem with that, but you inquired about an artistic question, which, unless you're working on a group project, is something you should never take advice from other people regarding, in my opinion. Your personal work should remain personal, and you're probably selling yourself short by relying on artistic advice from others, especially some fucking autist who wouldn't know artistry if it poked his eyes out.
>>634632Yeah and some bend morphs. the don't bend as smooth on G8. G3 is still superior.
>>634625>>634630>>634633Hey man, I was just trying to help. He did ask for some and I did my best to respond. Plus, I did give him tips on how to gauge these kinds of things in the future. And seriously, "never take advice on artistic things"? Why don't you go into the /wip/ thread and scream at everyone to fuck off then? You have to realise that art is built off technique. No matter how subjective art can be, at the end of the day there's always something objective about it. The way you manipulate colour, composition, framing, texture, all these key elements of art. There's always something technical you can comment about art, and I'm fairly sure I did. If I was complaining that her skin colour or hair colour was off, then yeah, that's a bit more subjective, but it's a face he's recreating for fuck's sake. There's no artistic agency in imitation. You only have that in innovation. And c'mon, I make a self-deprecating jab at myself and you take it that I'm genuinely an autist? Jeez, man, I'm just someone who likes to observe and loves to type.>>634628I can see the similarities to specific features, but now it's unfortunately lost all proportion. Emma's face to the rest of her head is pretty small, but you're currently attempting to maximise all available space. You need to shrink everything down, in a sense. So that other anon won't stop bitching about me, use his method and try drawing lines from areas like her mouth to her eyes. Compare their relative lengths in your reference to what you're working on, and adjust from there.
cant still understand this obession with at best average looking celebs
>>634636No man you really helped. Don't worry about the anon's bitching. I do see what you are talking about about maximizing the face space. It is a problem I do have too often. The problem with the lines is that there is a no 1-1 correlation. It can help. But there is the problem of perspectives. No matter what.
>>634638Idk I've gotten so many request for her but her face was so weird for me to re-create
So I'm pretty amateur at Daz, but everything I make has that really specific "Daz3d" look that you can spot from a mile away. Is there any way to remedy this?
>>634654photoshop can cure a lot of illsproper lighting when rendering helps big time
>>634654Easiest way is to learn blender. The only other thing I can suggest is to either use Zbrush or something similar to make your own morphs.

>>634674Along the same lines. If I want to make a skindentation morph where the boobage is overflowing a bikini like that. I should make the morph for the base figures and not exporting it's current form? If I export the current as the base to fix the boobs, wouldn't that double apply the character's shape when I reimport?
>>634674Think of the faps.
I don't mean to be "this" guy, but anyone got any recommendations for tutorials or resources for learning how to use DAZ? I just downloaded it and started watching some Youtube videos.I just wanna make some pics and animations of THICC bitches getting fucked.
>>634677Just tested with GF2 > V6 and a large breast morph. When reimporting the skindentation morph it became an all in one morph that had V6, breast shape and the modifications done to it.I guess that means any modifications done need to be done to the base mesh and just hope it looks good after other morphs are applied? That kinda stinks.Pic related. From left to right: GF2 with V6 and breast morph, GF2 with only the imported morph, and GF2 with bot V6, breast morph and the imported morph. Please excuse lumpy breasts, just pushed/pulled the morph to test this.>>634688Watch all the official daz videos. The biggest learning curve people have is understand what items work with what. The initial stuff you get is very basic. You will need clothing, shapes and for what you are planning, genitals.
>>634693Smay did a good job with his skindentation morphs for GF3's Slinky Suit. They even work pretty well with third party morphs.
>>634688Sickleyield has amazing tutorials. Though they are more intermediate kinda tutorials. Though I believe she has some beginner stuff.
>>634693Toyed with the import options and got the morph working without re-importing V6/etc morphs. Seems there's one option in morph loader pro for "reverse deformations" that defaults to "no". When Yes was selected, it only imported the changes between the two models as the new morph!
How much better is Zbrush for making morphs compared to Blender? I keep trying to get into Zbrush but the UI is terrible and it doesn't seem like it really does anything better than Blender for me since I already know all the nooks and crannies of Blenders sculpting and mesh editing system. Is it really worth learning or should I stick to what I'm comfortable with?
>>634731I'd say if you can do it in blender stick with that. Zbrush its just "easier" with goz
>>634731>How much better is Zbrush for making morphs compared to Blender?Night and day. Do yourself a favor and learn ZBrush enough to make your own hyper-detailed displacement maps.
>>6347313D Coat does a good job making morphs.
>>634731So you know Blender pretty well, but is a beginner with zbrush... and you don't get why you can not do any better with it? Just stick with DAZ
>>634731Just keep in mind zbrush was originally designed to be a 2.5d painting program and the ui makes more sense.
>>634751Definitely gonna use this one. Thanks.
Here is my new Kristen Stewart morph. Mostly done is zbrush.I feel like the jaw is too big
>>634847Well then how to improve then?
>>634848Jaw shape, eye size, cheekbone

>>634851Does she have fetal alcohol syndrome?
>>634854she's Japanese, yes
>>634007Can Daz be any more fkn confusing?Genesis 2 3 8 wtf?People and morphs being separate, morphs that only work with certain people morphs WTF!!!!???Jeez why even try.
>>634854MAW NAME ES DOE NUUUT STAYLE
>>634866>Morphs are figure specific NO ONE TOLD ME THIS baaawwwwwww
>>634839Here is an update for the anon that wanted me to recreate Kristen Stewart
>>634877Let me nitpick a bit more. The jaw is still not quite right, her jaw is quite strong but her general face shape is fairly narrow, so her upper jaw should be higher and "sharper" so to speak. Work on the ear shape a bit more, since they fairly distinct on her. Tip of her nose should be narrower and slightly higher up. These are just what I can see right now.
>>634880Here is another update
Anybody know of Skin Builder alternatives, namely for males? Don't exactly know what to be searching.
>>634887Getting there, great progress!
>>634866It's actually very simple because they're all pretty much interchangeable.Daz models are all compatible with one another, you just need to do a little work to add morphs and items to a character that's not a certain genesis. So really all these assets never go obsolete, they're always useful
>>634914Yeah it's that damn jaw line
>>634887So I think the bottom half of the face is mostly close enough, you can probably emphasize the resting bitch face a bit more by adding slightly to the middle of the top lip.Currently, the eyes still doesn't look right though, I think the eyes still need to be bigger and brighter so to speak, just think of her as someone who has big eyes but is constantly squinting a little bit for some reason. Don't forget about her eyebrows. Her ears also has a distinct shape to them, like, they flare out a bit and the bottom is kinda at an angle from the top, so to speak.Keep up the good work, you are getting closer.
What are some tips for resizing clothing from one figure to another?. Proportionately.I've got the import/export down. Examaple. Use some GF2 bikini on V6 with large breasts, but i don't want the cups to stretch.
>>634985Thanks gonna take a day or two away from it
>>635007I don't think you can apply extreme breast morphs without texture stretching unless you redo the UV map yourself.
>>634887>>634661Just use facegen. Use facegen, then clear up the textures in photoshop to be higher res, make your own normals and what not.
>>635124That's a dogshit pipeline. Don't waste your time following this anon's advice.
>>635125thanks for the help, buttfag.
>>635125If you're going to call something "dogshit" you should probably explain why and recommend an alternative.
>>635110Im sure there will be texture stretching on the strings, I just want to keep the cups the original size.
>>634007is there any model that looks similar to barbucci comic style?
>>635193OOF, i suppose you could just add morphs to the anime styled ones.
>>635124No. I have wasted my money on that. Inluss you have a direct front and side profile it will come out distorted. Always.
>>635193>Not being able to model orreplicate anything yourselfbwahahahaha faggot.
>>635124This, you can even use the Facegen morph as a base to start from and it's a heck of alot easier to get it to look right.
>>635125>>635213Unless you have utterly shit photos it works every time. Minor tweaks at most. Textures obviously need to be improved because they aren't high enough from facegen usually. But with a good renderer and good spec/normals/etc they still look good.

>>635796I ended up following advise posted earlier as well as info from https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/105476/hdri-environment-maps-image-zoomLooks like you just need to set the camera with HDR rendering the "frame" you want. Then rotate/scale/move your character to the appropriate area. >>635829It is actually related. Josie 6 is G2F, I've done this with V4 and earlier as well. There may be a better way to do it but this is what I learned from I believe sickleyield:Select all surfaces of the asset, apply iRay Uber Base (should be part of the starter essentials under Library\Shader Presets\Iray\DAZ Uber)Fiddle with surface settings until you've got something you like.

You'll have a tough time creating anything that isn't a butter face with G3/G8. Even if you're merchant and have the HD import plugin.
>>636021>the base topology was far superior. The level of incompetence you Daz scrubs can reach truly has no limit. There's only one good topology among those 4 and that's the last one with the lowest polycount. All the others suck balls.

>>636064>Confirmed for idiot newfag. No, he's right. The only good topology there is on the bottom right. Besides, with the help of displacement maps, you can sculpt that base into practically any human facial shape, without even needing to use the HD version.

>>636067>>displacement maps work in all 3 dimensionsThey do, if the render engine supports it. Pic related, a rough example.
>>636021>V4/M4 didn't have subdivionsactually the more recent versions of Poser have subdivision for any figure. It can be applied to the geometry that you are working with or just when you render. It works better on the figures than clothing and hair. And some figures like the original Girl it can have disastrous results.

How the FUCK do I achieve a nice dForce simulation with clothes stretching nicely around the body with stretch creases around it?All information I can find about dForce is about fucking POTATO SACK PHYSICS. It seems like everyone just uses it for loose as fuck clothes with only gravity pulling on it and nothing else.I want there to be a lot more horizontal force than vertical pulling but all I get is either the clothes getting pulled to the body so much it looks like a second skin or it goes nicely AND THEN gets pulled down again like a potato bag.I just fucking want it to not be loose as shit and with some nice stretch folds, is that too much to ask.
>>636184>is that too much to ask.Yes...I don't know much about dforce, but, if it is just a cloth sim, it might not do stretching all that well. And what you are asking for takes professional clothing designers years to learn. You aren't going to make well fitting cloths by just subdividing a couple planes and stitching them together. They have to be contoured correctly and designed specifically for each body types. Most people who do tutorials for cgi programs aren't professional clothing designers (and only a handful of people who work in the 3d industry are actually trained in that discipline). You'd be hard pressed to find someone with the knowledge that you're looking for who isn't making money off the fact that they are the only person who knows it.

>>636255You can use GoZ with ZBrush to move the base mesh easily between both programs. But, in general, you can use any modeling/sculpting program as long as you export the base mesh in base resolution as OBJ, load and modify it without changing the topology (this is essential), and then import that back in DAZ with the Morph Loader, creating a new morph.

Honest question here, do you fuckers ever pay for any items? I'm asking because I'm interested in making content for this market, and would like to know if it's a reasonable expectation to have half a dozen sales before my assets get taken to high sea. (In other words, I'd be okay with hobbyist piracy as long as I make a reasonable initial return on my assets.)

>>636440I know I can find them in the content library tab.The thing is, in the surfaces tab under "Presets" there's nothing while I see in other people's installations all those preset shaders and materials and I wondered if this might base on the same problem why some characters won't load correctly on my system (for example only the eyes have material to them while other parts like the torso stay grey and also seem to have no shader applied to them. Texture files and all exist and load nicely when I apply a shader manually to each part and also select the texture manually afterwards). I just think the whole installation is fucked.
>>636444I cant help you there, i rarely touch the surfaces pane unless im applying uber shader to older content. If doing a full, clean reinstall. Its worth it to note there are settings/config files in your APPDATA direction. (C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D)>>636441picrelated.jpg

If all you plan to do with your newfound hobby is shitpost poorly composed futa renders to anonymous imageboards for attention until you lose interest, maybe this doesn't matter to you. >>636797>t. literal brain-dead idiot>>636794You're exporting using .obj, right? If so, just hide the eyelashes in Daz Studio before exporting. .obj exports in Daz only export what's visible in the scene.
>>636794If it's gen8 you delete the eyebrows before you export. They are a separate model. Altering with zbrush is extremely straightforward once you do it once. Make sure you run the "adjust rigging to shape" when you import the obj back in.
>>636794Polygroups -> UV groups -> Hover over eyelashes and ctrl + select or whateverMask 'em, hide 'em, separate 'em, do what you want from there.
Don't you guys thinks it's pretty embarrassing that even for a program with a thousand safety nets, where everything is already done and provided for you, where everything is literally set up for you beforehand, that you still can't throw together a render that doesn't look like a complete pile of shit? Even blender is free, for christ's sake. You realize you can use blender for renders, right? Don't you think that kind of devalues you as a person; to have to rely on such primitive software and still be a complete and utter failure?
>>636813Watch how he tries to maintain a collected facade as he dishes out some pathetic insult, more akin to a whimper. Must have struck a cord.
>>636807Most of it is very poor lighting with shitty default shaders on old content. To get anything decent out of any renderer, the person will need to know lighting basics at the very least.Currently there are a couple ways to export to blender for render but the materials/shaders lose a lot of their values. Transparencies are usually the hardest hit.

As >>636815 points out it isn't trivial to migrate transparency maps (I've had fun with this) and there is no simple workflow for converting Iray materials to Cycles or other. The next time you get the smart idea to show off why don't you actually try it first before shitposting. This might be a good idea for most of the rest of your life by the sounds of it, you child.
>>636880>it isn't trivial to migrate transparency maps>literally just grayscale pictures What's hard about it?>there is no simple workflow for converting Iray materials to Cycles or other. Yes there is. You fucking rebuild the shader by hand. But oh right, you actually need to know a thing or two about shaders beforehand, don't you.Well, it seems like everything that you thought wasn't trivial was actually pretty trivial since the beginning, the real problem is only your unwillingness to put in some fucking work and learn stuff.
>>636892Been working on my own Daz-Cycles bridge, and I wholeheartedly agree. Transparency maps are super easy to use. Just do the ol' plug it into a mix factor with a transparency shader. As for the second part, duh. It's obviously easiest to rebuild the shader by hand. And it's hilarious how many of these other "cycles importers!!" spit out some really stupidly complex material when honestly you just need the principled shader and the know-how to manipulate the maps to plug into the principled.
>>636894Lots were made prior to the principled and im not sure the authors know it exists now. These guys come from the background of using 2.49 for their xnalara models eventually moving on to what they're doing now.
>>636895>not sure the authors know it exists nowOh, no, they do. Diffeomorphic's importer is hilariously poor in terms of the materials. If I remember correctly, it's some bastardised mix of the principled _and a translucency shader_ (plus probably a lot more useless noise) for the skin material. The pre-principled materials still tend to remain hilariously complex as well, it's incredibly obvious the workflow was just constantly iterate with more nodes until it looks acceptable rather than building a proper shader tree.
>>636487>>636482>>635708That's what keeps going senpai
