>I don't use BlenderBlender is hated and even google wants it gone, Do you gents realize that with more software being subscription based the whole community can be Shut Down with the press of a button? Adobe is confirmed to have a shutdown mechanism even with pirated copies, Autodesk definitely has the same. These companies are probably the ones behind allot of pirated releases, giving up free copies with a pre installed shot down switch. They want us gone and are putting in the finishing steps to cripple our creative output, no more memes, no more lewds.Surely i'm not the only one seeing it coming gents, share what you've noticed /3/
>share what you've noticed /3/I've noticed my bottle of peyote has gone missing this morning, strangely.

>>630081Retard. The software companies WANT people to pirate their shit if anything. The pirates of today learn and use their software to get a job. Once they transition in said job, they'll work in a company which spends a ton of money on licenses etc., which is where the profit comes in.
I wrote open source code for 5 years without pay almost 8 hours a day after work and someone from my family stole my work and put it into their private closed source code and made money off it and actually did not apologize
>>630120Probably baiting, but anyway, you know it's possible to sue, right?
>>630121He's someone who likes knives
Blender is THE redpilled software.
>>630083I have a mason jar full of san pedro powder. How to consume it?Make a tea out of it?
>>630081>google wants it goneGoogle's always been retarded. Even without the Blender controversy.
don't reply to this thread anymore, OP is stupid
>>630136What controversy?
>>630138Whether it is built or not on proprietary knowledge acquired by the main Cycles's developer while he was working at Autodesk. There's another case with a different developer and a different part of Blender that raises doubts, but right know I can't recall what it was exactly. It's a matter of a Google search, tough, but I'm slightly drunk so fuck it.
>>630122Good.Sue him for his knife collection.
>>630081>Blender is hatedPlease don't let yourself get tricked by board memes. This is a classic tactic meant to get you to think for yourself, just like how you aren't actually supposed to drink a gallon of milk a day, the great gatsby isn't the height of literary achievement, and you're not that big a guy (for me).
>>630122>be 3d artist>get stabbed
>be blendfag>want to learn 3DS Max for job prospects>research blender to 3DS Max videos>there are ONLY results to switch from 3DS Max to BlenderIf Blender is such a shitty software, why do 3DS Max users want to learn blender, and not the contrary?
>>630176I'm pretty sure the most common path of migration is from Blender to Maya
>>630176Just pick up 3ds Max like you would any other software? All your beginner tutorials you can find, etc. I don't see the need for a "Blender to Max" course.
>>630171Not funny, that's how my brother died.
>>630146> Proprietary knowledge No such thing
>>630201Huh? It is though. Companies can and will copyright/register/license/protect their research, developments and information, making it effectively proprietary. Something that can only be marketed and is protected under a registered trade name.To use a case study: citations 54-61 in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epic_Games#Litigation talk about a case where a developer was caught ripping code from Unreal and using it in their own engine. To use an analogy: think of it as like KFC's fried chicken recipe. While there's _inherently_ nothing wrong with using the recipe, the colonel's gonna whip your ass for using what's rightfully his secrets.
I don't know if I believe you about Adobe having a shutdown button. I pirated and have been running CC2017 suite almost everyday and have never experienced any problems. In fact it seems like people running 2018 and up are having a whole slew of problems with the official releases
>>630081Do you have a source on Adobe's "shutdown button"?
>>630233Maybe Adobe fucked up and put it on the paid versions instead?I mean it wouldn't be too much of a stretch given how fucked up the recent versions of Maya post-2015 apparently are.
>>630120Being jewish is painful i take it?
>>630233They haven't used it yet, no need atm.The point is even pirated versions aren't safe. They can shut us down at any time.
